  1. Beautiful snow caps. Fall in love with them & you’ll be disappointed, because they’re not forever. In time, they melt, flow as the river
The river is different at Points A & B. Even at Point A, the river is different at Times T1 & T2. Fall in love with the river & you’ll be disappointed, because it keeps changing always
Water takes the form of its container.. mountain, river bed, or the pool. Any form it takes, that form is transient. What doesn’t change is water itself that brings life to those forms
    Pranams Sathguru!
We waste a lifetime identifying ourselves with our container & in love with the world of form we perceive through that container. When we realize we’re not the container but the content, it’s too late, because the container is too old & invalid by then. How sad!
So, in your compassion, you’re leading us to identify with the formless content, when our container is still valid. We gratefully follow you. Jaya Guru Datta. Your Puttuji

Jaya Guru Datta Appaji – very nice video with greatly appealing music. From saguna to nirguna – the sookti I often saw in the Datta Venkateswara Temple is epitomized in this MMS. Another thing that comes to mind is the seemingly unrelated one-liner Maata Jaya Lakshmi told Appaji during the Holy childhood – ‘You are closest to Yourself – not the illusion’ – getting attached to something that was non-existent itself is illusion” – what a wonderful message and this MMS has all the previous messages as a run-up to them. Now everything falls in perspective and is tied together – thanks a lot Appaji for this step therapy!!!

Look at me, look at you, look at those you love, your beautiful house, your car, your garden, your beloved pet—all have form, constantly change and will disappear one day. Consider that unseen formless God you have been speaking to since you were a child in your heart…unchanged, still caring, still listening, still responding….the child in me has died and is gone, so has the teenager and the young woman–where did she go? I am still here….who am I?

It’s as if all of Vedanta is condensed in to this one simple line, simple enough for everyone to understand. The house I live in, my car, this body, the roads and buildings around me, the chair I’m sitting on are all unreal. Sadly, the mind is drawn to these material belongings. We grieve over the loss of the human body, loss of property, loss of belongings or ornaments, all of which are unreal. We struggle to identify with the real, the formless because we are ruled by our sense organs. What our sense organs perceive, we believe to be real. What we can see, smell, hear, touch and taste are what we believe are real. To identify with the eternal, the sense organs need to be tamed and the mind needs to be calmed. Once we offer our sense organs and the mind to the Sathguru, He will help us slowly identify with the eternal. This message is a great tenet to always keep in mind especially when faced with doubts, questions or negative emotions. Obeisances at the Holy Lotus Feet!

    Jai Guru Datta,
thank You, Sri Swamiji, for making this clear. Now I know that I only suffer because of my attachement to form.

    Jaya Guru Datta,
I remember Manasadatta telling us (Shivaratri 2012) we should all try and go and think beyond form!
May I one day understand this fact in all its dimensions and consequence.

Form always perish because it is consists of five subtle elements of ether, air, fire, water and earth elements in any form be it animate or inanimate. So such form will always perish that means its unreal. Only Almighty has no form but is omnipresent. HE is formless and eternal. May lord bless us all to understand and experience the formless and eternal guiding force.

    Dear Swami AVADHOOTA

The most beautiful words, i like to here, are from the Guru Gita…

OM PŪRṆAMADAḤ PŪRṆAMIDAṂ PŪRṆĀT PŪRṆAMUDACYATE PŪRṆASYA PURNAMĀDĀYA PŪRṆAMEVĀ VAŚIṢYATE
    OM ŚĀNTIḤ ŚĀNTIḤ ŚĀNTIḤI

Sri Guru Datta and humbles of prostration to my Lord
    Om Namo Hanumate Namaha

    Jaya Guru Datta
    Om Gurave Namah
We can feel Sri Swamiji often even when He is not present in His human form. This might be hard to understand. However, modern quantum physics has theoretically and experimentally proven that our world is non – local. That means for example that a change of one quantum object can invoke a change in another object far away – instantaneously. We can conclude that Sri Swamiji can come to us in a formless state and that this occurrence is from the physics point of view not impossible.
Since Albert Einstein we know that all matter can be converted into a certain amount of energy. Therefore matter is unreal since it can be converted to a completely formless state. Energy is eternal since physics says that energy is conserved in time. We can conclude that matter is unreal but consist of energy which is formless and eternal.

    • on January 23, 2013 at 3:57 pm

Jaya Guru Datta! How beautifully said! Yet difficult to understand for many people nowadays (incl. me many times) that what they can see or experience as “real” is unreal in truth. Our soul seems to have a form, but the body is not the form of the soul. So the soul and the divine are eternal only. May I grasp this beyond this superficial “understanding”. Sri Guru Datta!

Jai Guru Datta Pujya Swaamiji Thank you for this fact about attachment to form…with your grace I’llget there Om Draam Dattaaya Namaha.

  3. Jaya Guru Datta. Dearest Mother Sri Swamiji, please let me cling to that which is formless and permanent. Please let my focus be on the Self, Sri Swamiji, that Bliss… That Truth that You so lovingly showed me. Please bless me with the knowledge to see beyond forms and to not become attached to the impermanent. Sri Guru Datta.

What a beautiful teaching, Appaji has given through today’s MMS to us. The photography is also very apt for the MSG. Puttuji as you explained here water itself has no form and when ever it is in a container, that would be the form for that. But it is not permanent . Similarly the snow has no form and by the heat of sun it gets melted immediately and became water of no form. In the same way in this kaiyuga , we are wasting our life for worldly pleasures and for other karma bandhana. Here karma bandhana means, worrying always about our family , children, bank balance, house etc. Appaji says all these are not permanent . If we are unable to control our mind, the unwanted desires wil develop in our life and that will fill up in our container which isin the form of our body. By the time we want to make empty of our container, it will be too late, since we will become old. Therefore to get rid of this, we have to follow the spiritual path from our early part of our life through our Sadguru, sothat we will not involve in unwanted desires and in karma bandhana. Here I recollect Appaji’s words saying in the book God Word II( vandemukundam) which is very apt to this MSG. Also if we follow MMS 79 , we can attain finally liberation through the blessing of our Sadguru. That is what we need ultimately . This is because even on 24/12/12 , Appaji has spoken about liberation in our Mysore Ashram. JGD.

the beautiful sight of the mountain makes me remember sri swamiji guru gita teachings in flüeli-ranft, switzerland 2007. while recording sri swamijis wonderful powerful melodious rendering of the sacred guru gita I went to a room in the back of the hall to take a little break and drink a cup of tea with a piece of bread because I hadn’t taken anything this morning. regretting leaving His physical presence I enjoyed being alone for a moment and marvelled at the beautiful rolling mountain shining in the morning sun that I could see through the window. what a living glowing majestic beauty ! refreshed I went back to the camera just to hear sri swamiji say: ! (a dvd containing some of the recordings from there DECODE THE SECRET, initiation and teachings on guru gita is still available in the bookshops of dyc germany and switzerland)

How very true is this, if we realized the full meaning, we would always try to watch behind the things.
Sometimes it`s easy for us to watch behind the scene, when life presents itself in all its beauty, mystery and strength.
In special moments, we feel a higher aim or meaning.
But very often life only triggers our feelings of powerlessness, fear and inballance.
So I try to focuss on the “inner intention” of life, but if I`m not quiet and peaceful enough, I can`t grasp it.
    So, what to do?
The memory of those special moments help me to come back to happiness and wonder.

Clay exists. There are various objects made out of clay with different shapes. But the basic material used is the same in everything. Similarly we are also objects born out of the same divine consciousness. Instead of realizing the basic self is the same in everyone, we differentiate based on the outer appearances. We need to give up looking outside and start contemplating more on the divine consciousness which is present in everything in this creation. Only with Sadguru’s grace this is possible.
