Brilliant metaphor! Saraswathi is the Goddess of Gnana (Knowledge) and of Nada (Music). She is also the river that flows beneath the Thar desert. Just as how she springs up as an oasis in the desert creating fertile land in the midst of sand dunes, she also springs up as gnana – knowledge – in renewing the dried up minds of the ignorant.
When desire deludes the mind and despondency dries it up; When worry and anxiety come in to the mind, and threaten to waste this body, she incarnates as His Holiness Sri Swamiji and revitalizes many an impoverished mind through His Music for Healing and Meditation.. like she is doing tonight at the Royal Albert Hall !
Many pranams to you Sathgurudeva for such divine nourishment! Keep giving us more and more of it.. for in this is nectar is our lifeline ! We can’t do without it ! Jaya Guru Datta! Your Puttuji

JGD Appaji. Just as divine music can convert poison to nectar, it can even make a desert fertile. Come to think of it, really, His music has had immense impact on everthing animate. Wishing Nada Brahma, our very own Appaji all the success on His Silver Jubilee Year of Music concert. What an honor to Royal Albert Hall to have Appaji’s name carved in its pages. All the success to you, Appaji.

  1. Yes, His Holiness is very right. Music can do many things. Every thing, living & non living, mobile & stationary, plant & animal responds positively to smooth and soft melody. Where as noise disturbs, high & strong vibrations agitate the listener. His Holiness advises disciples to listen to Music for healing and meditation during early hours to enjoy tranquility and quite ness.

JGD.The opening bars of a Desert Music itself is enchanting. There are millions of mini deserts in the minds of people that are to be made fertile. His Holiness ones said that He is A Agriculturist who sows seeds, waters, removes the weeds, irrigates the land and reaps good fruits.

  2. JGD. The divine music of Appaji has prompted this barren mind of mine to reject all else and to sink into my heart. It explodes with feelings of love and contentment. Buds would blossom and Roses blush on hearing His Divine Music. The desert stands no chance.

Jai Guru Datta Appaji – We are missing the wonderful Nada Loka Raga Sagara Healing session in London today… but it was beautiful to have your darshan in today’s MMS message.
Your Divine music has certainly been our lifeline and Guiding force that is helping the straying souls of Kaliyuga tread the path of Spirituality and help us to re-discover our TRUE SELF. Forever indebted! I cannot imagine this life without Pujya Appaji’s Divine Music.
The NadaMantapa in Mysore Ashram seems like the ultimate abode of the “Spirit of Music” – with the amazing Sapthaswara Devathas (the ruling Gods of the 7 swaras – Sa-Ri-Ga-Ma-Pa-Da-Ni-Sa); Tributes to the greatest Musicians of world history represented by their Frescos etc. with Pujya Appaji – our own Mata Saraswati in the CenterStage, healing our Spirits. What a divine Visual! Sri Guru Datta.

    Jaya Guru Datta,
may all the devine tunes reach out over London tonight. May the music touch the hearts of the devotees so that they open like lotus flowers. Happy listening to everybody. Pranams to the ultimate Nada Yogi Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji.

A desert is a place where there is not much vegetation and not many living creatures. Before Creation, there was no vegetation and there were no living creatures at all. We understand from our scriptures that the sound syllable OM consisting of A U and M sounds is the first ever sound vibration to manifest in Creation and that the rest of creation emanated from that root vibration. From OM the five elements came into being; life force came into being; consciousness came into being; the infinite variety of life forms and growth patterns came into being. If from one single syllable, and if from one single sound vibration so much can come into being, it is not farfetched to imagine and to believe that the infinite variety of permutations and combinations that can be achieved with the 22 notes and half notes and the various tones, pitches, harmonics, rhythms, and the resulting resonance that the single vibration of OM yields, growth can be stimulated in an arid desert, where already the five elements exist, except that water alone is scarce. It has been demonstrated already that music can create clouds and make rain. It has already been proved that plants grow quicker and lusher with music. When music is infused with divinity flowing from the heart, voice, breath and fingers of a holy man, how can there be any doubt that a desert becomes fertile by its influence? After all, a human heart that is dry and hard certainly responds to divine music and turns soft and compassionate. Shakespeare had declared that music soothes even the heart of a beast.

    Divine Music -22/09/12

Music has Devine energy in it. Devine music helps in healing of the psychological and psychosomatic problems gradually by regular practise of playing or hearing, by it’s soothing effects. Even with a very low mood, spending some time with Devine music, it rejuvenates with energy and enthusiasm. Person exhausted and frustrated is similar to a desert without any abission or positivity towards life. Devine music will certainly make such desert to fertile place of positive energy like His Holiness Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji is helping thousands of His devotees with His Devine ‘music for meditation and healing’ blessing all of us with mental tranquility and health.

    Divine music ~ 22 sep 2012

Namaste Puttuji. Wonderful video with Appaji’s beautiful pictures and Appaji saying the quote. The word ‘ divine music ‘ is well pictured with Om on key board and Appaji’s fingers. Goddess Saraswathi’s grace is a must for any knowledge including music. Appaji invoked many hearts with His divine music. Even a desert can be made fertile with divine music. Yes, divine music can turn desert like minds into fertile ones with devotion and knowledge. Music for Meditation and Healing is an apt example for divine music, healing many ailments and Appaji’s grace fills the heart of a devotee with strength. Dharma Stoopa in Mysore Ashrama shows that divine music leads one to Nirvanam, self realisation.
