  1. We want fulfilment (siddhi) in what we do. We want our work to stand tall like the canyon. Others must listen, emulate & build upon what we’ve achieved. But, what we expect from others isn’t what we expect from ourselves. We like to go after something new (novelty), instead of something that is traditional, old
Tradition is boring.. particularly when it does not work for us. We’re perfect. Tradition is flawed. We always want something new. But then, going after new, is like getting after snow. That newness is not eternal.. can melt away
The path of the conventional, is paved with canyons. Its ups & downs we despise. We want a smooth ride.. like on snow. So we go chasing the new. But that newness melts away like ice, and we are back to square one
    Pranams Gurudeva!
We’re grateful to you, for having made us realise the futility of reinventing the wheel. We will stay focussed on using it, to make progress & do you proud. Jaya Guru Datta. Your Puttuji

Jaya Guru Datta! How fortunate we are to have a beloved Guru who honors tradition and teaches us the real meaning and purpose behind those traditions. Few exist who understand the real meaning of dharma and how the ancient ways protect that dharma. Sri Swamiji has taught us that if we protect dharma, dharma will protect us. Sri Guru Datta!

jgd Swami ji thanks again for training us to learn and practice satisfaction, our precious life should not be wasted by running after desires following our mind and sense organs like a cow who wanders from place to place in search of better green grass the whole day or like a person who keeps digging and changing the place every five minutes to get water from earth. May we obey You and follow Your instructions without fail regularly and achieve the aim of our life Sat Chit Ananda onhn sgd

What a nice advice, Appaji has given today through this MMS 243. In a simple way , if you say, I remember here Appaji’s words , saying that we should be happy with what ever the God has given to you and not to be jealous with what ever the others have. In otherwords when the God has given the birth in this janma, it is already decided by Him , what is to be given toYou and Not. Therefore we should satisfy with what ever we are having and spend a portion for noble cause also. This is what Appaji is expecting from us. Here again our mind has got an important role. In otherwords we should be able to control our mind and should not involve in unwanted desires which will lead us to failure only at a latter date. Therefore if we follow through the spiritual path under guidance of our Appaji , we can control our mind and get rid of from unwanted desires and have a peaceful life also which what we need in this kaiyuga . In this kaiyuga people are misleaded and involve in new things instead of developing their existing one which may be a traditional one also. Hence Appaji is reminding us that if we go like that at one stage you will feel thatyour decision is wrong and lead to failure and it is like melting the Ice in to water. Thank you Appaji for giving such a nice advice and we follow your words and teachings strictly and also do our best for the development of your mission which is ultimately for our benefit only. The photography and the music are very apt for this MSG also. JGD.

Jaya Guru Datta! It’s like a disease. I don’t watch TV anymore, but still there is this urge to read the news daily. Sometimes I excuse it with needing to know what’s going on in the world because of my job, but anyway: what kind of news do we find nowadays: corruption, violence, crookedness, catastrophes, fights, entertainment, lustfulness, useless stuff etc. Not even a trace of dharmic knowledge! Swamiji, You have been working hard to change me, to transform me, to carve me, please continue so that I can focus more & more on You only! Sri Guru Datta! Om namo hanumate namah!

I bow down before the wisdom and truth revealed to us by Sri Swamiji. It is such a wonderful treasure we have on earth. It is eternal. We can make use of it everyday and make our life so much better and nicer. It feels to me like a way to liberation. We become more and more free to live our true Self. My biggest gratitude to Sri Swamiji.
Pranams to the Divine Lotus Feet of Sadgurudeva.

We spend our lives chasing after silly frivolouties, acquiring and collecting useless material things, watching senseless shows, following the latest trends in life. What a waste! We only get temporary happiness and are left feeling empty so we chase after something else and again the same thing happens . In the end our lives are spent on worthless distractions and nothing was gained. Luckily for us we have Sadgudeva so don’t have to make this mistake. Chase god and gain the real happiness! Om namo Hanumate namaha. Jaya Guru Datta.

JGD Appaji – After Appaji entered our lives we are just doing our work and leaving it to Appaji. We believe that Appaji knows everything and he will give us the moment he think this is the time – We are very lucky to have Appaji in our lives and want to continue this ever and ever – SGD

Certain traditions are introduced by elders and Maharshis for the welfare and well being of mankind to keep the society in an order. One can recollect the quote that says “Old is Gold”. One has to think of about the customs and the “Good” behind it instead of discarding away them saying “That is all old and not appropriate” for today’s generation. The typical nature of human mind is that it runs after about new tastes and novelty. The novelty has embarked into every walk of human life. It has changed the life style, behaviour, clothing and even the food habits and society is experiencing the repercussions of it. The mind is man’s intimate friend or inveterate foe and hence, according to circumstances, he can swim or sink in the ocean of life.We are grateful to You Swamiji for sowing the seeds of good habits, traditions and manners in us.Our behaviour, thoughts and actions are well tamed and shaped by You so that the mind is our companion but not an enemy. Jai Guru Datta Puttuji_/\_!!

Beautiful Snowy MMS for the Snowy Season teaching Conventional Wisdom !!

    Jai Guru Datta Appaji_/\_!!

Long held traditions have stood the test of time. Their relevance has remained intact through generations. Sadgurudeva is advising us that we should not try to reinvent the wheel. Like we respect our accomplishments and expect others to respect them as well, we should also relish the accomplishments of prior generations and use modern means to further the tradition. This is a very relevant lesson for the modern day when people mistakenly consider non-traditional to be ‘cool’ and traditional to be a sign of backward thinking.

The ‘cool’ may fool us in the medium term to long-term. They are not permanent as Puttuji explains. The conventional and traditional, when truthfully followed, will see you through, however painful the path may be.

Appaji, thank you for using novel techniques to accelerate our journey along the conventional path to attain Siddhi!! Sri Guru Datta !!

Jaya Guru Datta Appaji – thanks for a great message. The breeze is not coming in novel ways everyday, the water is not waving in different new ways daily, the fire is not – not even the earth going round in different ways/paths around the Sun – the sky has been the same always – pancha bhutaas are not changing or not after novelty, if any – even a small change in the way they act will create disasters like the Tsunaamis – then why we? We shouldnt. We are ever grateful to You for this valuable message Appaji… Jayaho

why chasing after novelty when life itself is new at every moment? even our seemingly rather solid physical body is constantly renewed. biology says that the mucous membrane of the intestines are completely new within a few days. and physics says that within a year 98% of all the atoms the body consists of have been exchanged. why chasing for novelty when life as a Divine present offers new experience, new insight, new perspectives from moment to moment? why chasing for novelty when our beloved sadguru is guiding us not only to ever new adventures but leading us on ever new paths to the ultimate goal of human existence? may we be able to follow You with ever new joy and out of that love which is nothing but a reflection of Your eternal Divine love.

The novelties of our society chase each other endlessly and disturb and distract our mind very often.
    Old traditions are smiled at.
Eternal truth will never change. If we realize this, we can let all phenomena flow by, one after the other.
Mind is programmed on getting excited by always new things,
so this is what the mass media use skillfully.
I also like to see a new MMS every day, and not the same one every day. That would be boring.
So I think, a combination of “old” – eteral Dharma – and “new” – a fresh garment according to
the respectice time and place and culture – will make it in material world.
It`s the same with children. They always want something new and are bored very quickly.
So what to do? Give them a good variety of everything, showing them new aspects of life permanently, not forgetting the “red thread” of moral and spiritual understanding.
With this respect, I often repeat small lectures to trace a path in their mind, and quite often I combine it with new aspects to link.
I think, we are all like children, learning our whole life, never being the same as yesterday.
To see the world fresh and new every day is an aspect like the snow – falling and melting –
the rock is eternal truth, it gives us the orientation in an ever changing world, like Sri Swamiji.

Jaya Guru Datta! Thank You for the message, Appaji. The goal of this birth is to journey inward and understand who I am. Pursuit of the illusions presented by this samsara will lead me away from this journey. I don’t know how many births it took for me to be so blessed with Your divine presence in my life. I can see another opportunity I’m given with this birth go waste if I can’t stay focused on the journey. When Lord Datta Himself has come to us to show us the path, I’d be a fool to choose the impermanent worldly pursuits over the path to eternal happiness. Yet, Your maya is so strong that I get fooled every day.
Spending time in pursuit of wealth and luxury, in pursuit of name, recognition etc are a waste of time. Chasing after novelty whether it’s a new house or car, or just the next new phone or trendy fashion accessory is a waste of time. It’s not the object as much as the state of our mind that’s distracting us. Please bless us to be focused on the goal of this human birth.

    • Joseph on February 17, 2013 at 10:15 pm

Chasing for novelty and competition with others both are only to prove our uniqueness to others, but for sure no one can have peace of mind in this process because the most precious part i.e time is being wasted in This process. Are we living for ourselves or for proving others in this process? Our life is meant to live as it is a chance given by Lord to help ourselves from this vicious cycle of life and death. If we are not doing so and chasing after novelty, we are loosing our precious time. May lord bless us all with a satisfied peaceful mind and happiness always.
