Ego and desires  :  All of us are created great by almighty.  Greatness is our true, higher nature. Our higher nature is governed by the Supreme Purusha – The cause behind all causes – or the uncaused cause. Greatness shines through parama purushas like our revered Appaji, because they always live in their higher nature.    Lesser mortals like us, succumb to our ego. We identify with our lower nature.  Our lower nature is governed by our perceptions, at the body, mind and intellect level.  That leads us to feel incomplete.  This feeling of incompleteness drives the lower nature to seek ways and means of feeling complete, in the realm of life that it can perceive with the body-mind-intellect equipment. And alas ! We end up chasing our tails.  When we succumb to our E G O, we (E) Edge (G) Greatness (O) Out, and allow our desires to rule our lives.    I know I am a lesser mortal driven by my ego centric desires. So, I have just one desire my Prabhu..  I want to be of service to you always !    your PuttuGam..

Jaya Guru Hanuman, This reminds me of the beautiful bhajan of Sri Swamiji…

    janmāniki mūlamu kōrikalaṇḍi
    kōrikalaku mūlamu āśalaṇḍi
    āśa tīraka pōtēnē duḥkhamaṇḍi
    duḥkhamulanu anusarin̄cu rōgamaṇḍi

This bhajan tells that the root cause of birth is desires and hence desires give raise to ego and ego breeds more desires. The only way to overcome this cycle is to Follow the master, Have faith in God, Face the Devil (Karma), Finish the game.

    Om namo hanumate namaha

Desire is ”I need this” and without “I” there is no desire and without completion of desire there is no satisfaction of ego. Beautiful message. May lord bless us all to be devoid of ego and desires.

jgd this world of Mahamaya is run with the three qualities of Satva, Rajasa, and Tamasa, ego and desires play very important role to run this show, Mother is running this show for Lord’s entertainment. May Satguru Datta help us to come out of this circle of cause and effect , Swami ji is guiding us to take the help of naam sankeertana and satsanga to come out of the shackles of these ego and desires onhn sgd

Thank You, Sri Swamiji for these life changing messages. By removing doership/ownership from our actions and surrendering actions and its fruits to our Sadguru, we can tame our ego and control our desires. With Your grace, may we subdue and eventually get rid of our ego and desires.

When I catch myself angry, I’ve tried to examine the desire underlying the anger and I’ve invariably found one. Once I identify the desire, the process of correction is a little easier because I know that the resolution needs to happen on my end, not on the other end. This message is a critical part of trying to understand and overcome anger. Obeisances at the Holy Lotus Feet!
