  1. Aptly reinforces the import of MMS 291.. which said the Guru is attracted by thirst for spiritual knowledge. With that thirst comes the willingness to practice the virtues of humility & respect. That begs the question – What is the right time to practice these virtues?
A flower does not say – “Let me know when the butterfly will come. That is when I will bloom”. If it does, many a flower will miss the butterfly. It is the flowers dharma to open up and be humble enough to receive the butterfly when he flies in. No ifs and buts here. Just open up, be humble & wait with respect. Period.
Those crops are humble enough to put their heads down, when they are ready for harvest.
    Pranams Vishnuswaroopa Sathgurudeva!
What beautiful examples you have used to illustrate the virtue of being humble & respectful always! We are inspired. We will follow your advise and always be ready to host you in our bosom when you choose to walk in.

The significance of humility and respect is stressed by Pujya Appaji so many times in so many ways through so many of these MMS messages, HH speeches and so on. It is amazing how far closer an ounce of humility can take us to Sri Sadguru. Prayers to Your Lotus Feet Appaji, to keep reinforcing these virtues in us and for keeping us with You always. Sri Guru Datta.

Last night it was strongly snowing. How nice the world looked today when the sun came out. Our nature teaches us with which care it covers the plants in winter and how nice everything looks in a fresh and sparkling white! With humbleness we can observe mother nature and look at the perfection of the snowy landscape or at the painting of this beautiful butterfly. We can learn from mother nature and treat everybody and every animal with the same care, humbleness and respect, since all around us part and parcel of Sadgurudeva Sri Swamiji.

Very beautiful MMS. The example of the flower blooming when it is ready is so apt. We just need to go on following His teachings, doing selfless seva with humility and respect…for He knows what to give and when to give. We need to be ready with our minds empty to Welcome Him whenever He chooses to walk in.

A nice teaching Appaji has given today through this MMS. Puttuji you have also given a good explanation for this based on photography . In Mother’s creation in nature, we can realize how the flowers are being humble to attract the Butterfly and similarly how the crops in the field are being humble by putting their head down with out showing any ego to take the harvest when it is ready. Therefore according to me Appaji is reminding especially in this Kaliyuga to learn from the plants, crops and flowers , how should we also be humble and respect in our life. Here I recollect the MMS 208 wherein Appaji says we should sacrifice ego, anger, greed and using harsh words which will help us to be more humble and to give respect where ever it is necessary and that will lead us for the success in our life. At the sametime to acquire such good qualities , we have to get spiritual knowledge through our Sadguru , Whose words and teachings to be followed strictly. According to me a person who don’t have a Sadguru , especially in this Kaliyuga is more or less like walking in dark. Thank You Appaji to remind us timely and we follow Your words and teachings especially recollect the earlier MMS and develop such good qualities. The music is also apt to this MSG, since Datta means Gift and He is so kind enough to give us such good qualities provided we follow Him. JGD.

Jaya Guru Datta! Swamiji has instructed in the past to be polite to others, no matter what. This message is telling me that regardless of how someone may come across, whatever the situation may be, I need to be humble and respectful. It’s not difficult for us to be respectful as long as the the situation is agreeable. It’s when the going gets tough that we’ll need to remind ourselves to continue to be respectful. Brings to mind the episode where Lord Vishnu displays humility by stroking the foot of Bhrugu Maharishi after the latter kicked Him. Sri Swamiji is, of course, a perfect example of all virtues. He’s the omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent Datta Avadhuta, yet He laughs and smiles with us and puts up with our doubts and egos and misunderstandings. With pure, unadulterated love, such humility will not require much effort. With the grace of Sri Swamiji, may such love fill my heart. Obeisances at the Holy Lotus Feet!

Jaya Guru Datta, dear Appaji. I was really touched by the wonderful bhakti expressed in the song. With bhakti towards the Lord and all the creation, whether it be man or animal or plant, we learn to be humble. Please bless me that I’m humble & respectful when it is most difficult to do so, not only when it’s easy. Sri Guru Datta!

Absolutely true, but it hurts when these qualities are misused by others. May lord bless us all to be humble and have strength to sustain the quality of humbleness within us.
