  1. Perfect timing.

What’s our prayer this Vijayadasami? Some more or less of something? Fulfilment of unfulfilled desires? Or liberation from their clutches? Are we delegating upwards to the Mother? Or, simply escaping, believing we can continue the way we’ve always been & the Mother will do all the hard work to make our life better?

Well, if we’ve internalized MMS 78, 79 & 130, our prayers would be different, and our lives as liberated as the tall green trees in the midst of those deep red ravines.

    Pranams Appaji !

You taught us: Ä man’s world is a projection of his mind / MMS78. Only he who has discarded desire & despondency can acquire dispassion / MMS79. Only he who gives up despair can acquire vairagya / MMS 130.

Here on, in pursuit of liberation, we discard desire, despondency & indulge ourselves in selfless service to your mission. If you find us faltering, we pray you be our Kali Mata in destroying that inertia. Jaya Guru Datta, Your Puttuji.

Jaya Guru Datta, Swamiji, Always Datta is testing us and we have to remember that it is our reactions to those tests that are important. We always have a choice to see any situation in either a positive or negative light. Yesterday in Datta Kriya Yoga practice, we pulled Swamiji’s MMS “Pray to God to Transform Your Enemies” on which to meditate–a wonderful message as we have been considering the Devi’s great battle to help us overcome our inner and outer demons. At least two of the students discussed how they believed that in order to begin to transform their enemies, they had to first transform themselves from the inside out. Here you are affirming for us that it is our minds that can create bondage or liberation. Healing of outside situations can often begin within in our own thoughts. This has been my contemplation for Vijayadashami–that healing begins when we bring light to the dark places within ourselves and the spaces between others. Deepest gratitude for this affirmation of that thought…

“The blissful formless all-knowing, all pervasive Sadgurudeva Sat-Chit-Ananda who now appears out of compassion as our Sadguru Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji is the only Truth, the only Reality!” This is my mantra. My mind reverberates with this statement. Bala Swamiji has endorsed that this indeed is the Truth and to firmly stick to it without a moment’s neglect. Yet, the powerful influence of Maya throws me off balance ever so frequently. None can help me but my Sadgurudeva. Blindly, stubbornly, and persistently doing as he commands, minute by minute, seems to be the only way to stay on top of this Maya. If there is even one small let up, one little slip, one tiny detour, this powerful Maya gobbles my mind up and it takes great effort to regain my mind from the trap called worldliness and attachments, and make it steady again and focus on my mantra that Swamiji alone is the Truth. All else is unreal. All other obligations that appear so crucial are all only an illusion. Jaya Guru Datta

Jaya Guru Datta Appaji! Watching this video was truly a relaxing experience, then your message appeared and I thank you for this message.
Many times I often find myself being consumed by thoughts that are not positive and allow them to hamper my day, then when I think of you my Guru or I look at photo of you smiling I know that all will be well…. My mind and my entire outlook changes for the better, I can feel the warmth of your presence and my mind is once more at ease.
Just the thought of you, your words, your actions remind me that in this owrld there are great things ahead for everyone with you as our dear Guru.
Thank you again for keeping me on the right path….

This world with its lures, is a most dangerous place. Adi Shankara in the Nrsimha Karaavalamba Stotram has described it as an ocean filled with sharks exposing their sharp teeth to mercilessly take a bite out of us, a jungle infested with venomous serpents ready to sting us black and blue, and a raging merciless fire ready to burn us to ashes. Who needs hell when we have this world right at the fingertips of our minds? Touching it equals getting scorched. The burns feel pleasurable at first and then they peel our skin and expose the flesh. Be it money, fame, power, children, possessions, or sensory thrills – every little temptation is a deep chasm that is ready to swallow us. “Tasmat Jaagrata! “Therefore, be careful! Our Scriptures warn us and cautions us, and so does our Sadguru Sri Swamiji in so many words, in so many songs, via so many media, in so many ways. Let us wake up to this Truth quickly by following Puttuji’s teachings step by step as taught thru MMS. Jaya Guru Datta

Absolutely true, it is mind that perceives through sense organs and the entire life as a picture is happy or unhappy depends on how we perceive things in our life…. There is no constant factor as to what gives happiness, it is all about what is intended and how it is received. A person may percieve happiness by sharing his food to needy where as other may feel punished for doing so because he is not getting his full meal. Yes, everything is in how our mind receives including attachment or detachment with object or people around. Fantastic message……

What comes to my mind is…: ) : What is this strange thing called “mind”? Is it bondage, when my mind is fixed on something and wants to have something…and is it liberation when my mind is focused on atman or just relaxed? For me it still remains abstract. While I´m writing, my mind says: you can´t write something silly like that. You must write something intelligent! You´re english is not good enough….and so on…this mind is really exhausting, this monkey mind! For me it is not easy to controll it. One spiritual teacher said: The mind is like a parrot, he is sitting on your shoulder and is talking the whole time. You cannot stop him speaking, but you can learn not to listen to him for the whole time. He is like a crazy uncle, who is paranoid and is telling you a lot of bad and wrong things. You can love your uncle and calm him down, but you don´t have to listen and believe what he´s smattering the whole time. His voice becomes background and you´re no more affected by his fears and bad thoughts…..this is a nice and funny view I think. This helps me. Please Appaji, help us to proceed an get inner peace…step by step….or immediately: )! JGD Rajeshi.

  3. JGD.APPAJI! Well said.Thy is the cause for every good or bad in any life cycle. The MIND is nothing but the thoughts emanating through the knowledge gained through the sensory organs during any cycle of life, recorded and saved for the respective results to be undergone without fail during that life cycle. To overcome this, the only way is to quell the thoughts/mind through constant practice of mental silence, which is possible thruogh the Sadgurudeva,an embodiment of Sacchidananda.SGD.

Only with Sri Swamiji’s divine blessings can we gradually climb out of the canyons of our mind, and see the whole idea of our world from a much larger perspective and with much greater understanding. Like climbing up out of Bryce canyon and at the top seeing all the beautiful colours and shapes and how they all form a harmonious part of the whole.

Jai Guru Datta! Everything starts in the mind, any thought, feeling, word, action has its root in the mind.
‘As you think so you are’. When we have noble thoughts, we are noble. When we don’t have any thoughts, we are empty. And ready to receive what is beyond the mind – GOD! Kriya-yoga is the surest way to selfrealisation, it quietens the mind.Until one day there is no mind any more, only pure consiousness. With Sadguru’s immesurable grace. Without His grace, nothing works.

    Jai Guru Datta,
my mind is filled by wich I focus upon. If I focus on my petty wants and emotions I see only those and know nothing else. If I focus on Datta or Ganapathi or Hanuman or Swamiji I can see an exit door. I can´t claim for myself, that I am always focused in such a way as to see the light, but oftentimes, when I am caught in delusion and act accordingly, I remember that there´s an escape route and I switch my mind to Datta or to Hanuman or Swamiji and it helps. I beg Sri Swamiji to strengthen my focus on Him or God alone and to strengthen my sense of discrimination as to what is worth focussing upon.
    Sri Guru Datta.

Thank you Appaji. Since your music came into my life 14 years ago, I have witnessed the change in how this mind operates. The increasing strength to resist temptation has allowed me to see the attachments the mind holds onto. 4. Jaya Guru Datta. I am reminded of the Zoroastrian slogan: “Good thoughts, good words, good deeds.”. It is the mind and our thoughts that create reality…. That shape our words and our deeds. Sri Swamiji has so lovingly given us the tools to escape bondage and be liberated. I think of Bliss as our true state that may be experienced when our mind quiets. All of the craziness and loudness of our minds may be slowly made to be more peaceful through practice of Datta Kriya Yoga, Swamiji music, meditation, mantra Japa, etc. I love you Mother Swamiji…. Please make me a better person, make my love for You grow and grow until there is no me left…just that love, that Bliss. Sri Guru Datta

What a profound MMS today! Mind is the cause of all our happiness or sadness, and as Appaji tells us here in this message, it is the only cause of bondage or liberation. But the secret is in controlling the mind. Appaji is giving us several ways to keep our fickle minds busy and preoccupied with these daily doses of MMS, music to listen to, practicing Kriya Yoga and encouraging us to chant the names of God… All of which help us to control the mind.
Beautiful video with awesome background music! Jaya Guru Datta!!!

Jaya Guru Datta. It is the mind that makes the best or the worst of the situation. Wonderful video and more beautiful music. Synthesizing and reinforcing message from past MMS’. What else to ask…in Yoga Vasishtha, sage Valmiki proves how powerful one’sind is and how it can create internally so many universes for itself. As it has so much strength, no wonder if that is being misused by fools to torment themselves and others. It is only Guru’ grace that makes the mind work right so that the righteous path is picked up by humans. Thank You Appaji for a yet another wonderful gem.

In this dream called ‘Life’ we get so engrossed and involved that we do not wish to wake up from it, I feel. That is why the SGS MMS videos are ignored and brushed aside just like mother’s call in the morning, telling us to wake up. They are like the annoyance of an alarm clock that is disturbing our sweet ‘dream’. The messages are annoying because they are whisking our warm blanket away that keeps us cozily hugging tight this ‘false’ world. We hate to write comments because, the way we believe that what happens in a dream is true while the dream lasts, we think that this world and life are true and are afraid and shy to express ourselves. We falsely believe that all those others who comment, and read our comments will laugh at our language and will criticize our ideas. We forget that this life is a dream and that those are all dream people who do not even exist. They are all only different forms of Mother Goddess appearing here to torment the devils inside us. All our attachments and bonds will one day be broken at the end of this life. Too often we use our mind to grow our ego. We think how intelligent, beautiful , how great we are, and how much we have accomplished. We think of family as ours. We strive all our life to create stronger bonds to this materrial world, hardly thinking that all this is temporary. Yet if we use our mind to think of Sadgudeva , repeat mantra we can achieve liberation and infinite bliss. The mind is a powerful tool. We should use it as a good servant and not let it become our master. Please help us Appaji. Om namo Hanumate namaha. Jaya Guru Datta.

    Jaya Guru Datta,

Great MMS video message. Mind is the culprit for all good and bad things happening around us. For the pleasure of sense organs we act through mind.
It is not easy to control mind, but by practicing kriya yoga we can control our sense organs by which mind can be controlled. Thank you Appaji for offering Kriya yoga to devotees. I pray pujya Appaji to give me strength to practice Kriya yoga daily and in turn control mind which is the cause of bondage and liberation.

We need to realize our true self is like the sun, clouds will come and cover it and go, we need not attach ourselves to the clouds. We need to realize that the clouds will be there, thoughts will be there, attachment will be there…but just like the clouds these are not permanent. Only with Appajis grace and Blessings this realization is possible.. we need to constantly be contemplating about His teachings and listening to His music, mind will be freed automatically.

By Appaji’s grace: The mind is the basis of the external world we see and experience. It is the foundation of creation, most powerful and highly complex and thus forming the basis of “ego”. There is no stop to it’s own creation, it’s illusion and almost impossible to contain it, given it’s nature and power. By Sadguru’s grace only one can start inward focus of mind and realize the inner self and there is NO OTHER WAY than “DEVOTION” and “COMPLETE SURRENDER” to attain Sadguru’s grace.

Sadguru out of limitless compassion, has blessed us with Bhakti (Unconditional love towards God/Sadguru only, there by loving his creation), Nama-sankeerthana, Divine music, Satgrandha parayana, Kriya Yoga, Atma-vichara and Satsang… These are simple, doable, joyful and yet the best, totally scientific methods and sure shot ways of containing, cleansing and transforming the mind, to realize and reflect it’s source, the “Paramatma”.

If we can resolve to tread the path towards giving up desires and despondency and consciously work towards accquiring stability and equanimity in mind, we have won over our inner enemies. It is all in the mind, really!! The only way we can challenge this illusion and win over it is blindly following the master. He would never want anything unpleasant in our lives, but if there is unpleasantness, it is because we think of it that way. If there is happiness, it is because we think of it that way. Leaving all our questions, doubts and stupidity behind and allowing HIM to heal us from within is the need of the hour. My only prayer is to my Sadguru is to help me resolve more strongly to be equanimous and stable in mind. Jaya Guru Datta Appaji.

It is the mind which is the cause of bondage ~ 25 Oct 2012

Shuddha Manas or pure mind leads to liberation. Ashuddha Manas or impure mind causes bondage. Shuddha Manas is filled with Sattva or purity and divine virtues. Ashuddha Manas is filled with impurities such as lust, greed, jealousy, hatred, etc. The Mind assumes the form of any object it intensely thinks of. It is the Mind that causes bondage and release. Devoted to sense-objects it causes bondage; devoted to the Lord it creates freedom and release.

If the mind is not controlled it will lead us to unwanted bondage and suffering. It is said that “an idle mind is the devil`s workshop”. Pujya Appaji has shown us so many ways of mind control. Satsangs, kriya-yoga, meditation, bhajans, chanting mantras etc are all ways to keep the mind under control. Pujya Appaji has also given us a very unique gift in the form of “Music For Meditation And Healing” that helps us to keep our minds calm and free from agitation. The latest being the music for the 12 zodiac signs. Using these methods we can certainly keep our minds pure and sattvic. Thank you Appaji for showing us these ways to keep our minds free from suffering and bondage.

It is the mind which is the cause of bondage ~ 25 Oct 2012

As the adage goes, “Its all in the mind!”. Our mind drives our lives. Our desires, actions, likes, dislikes are all formed from thoughts in the mind. As the message very truly states, its this mind, that causes bondage or liberation. This mind when let lose to be distracted by worldly matters, becomes corrupt and is stuck in bondage. When the same mind is trained and nurtured spiritually under the guidance of Sadguru, it can lead to liberation. Association with Sadguru gives the mind the power of discrimination that helps it understand the importance of being liberated from the worldly existence and attachments! We can train our mind by chanting the name of God, japa, Nama Sankeertan, Kriya Yoga practice. All these Sadhana will yield fruit only when there is grace of Sadguru. This is essential for liberation. May we all follow our Master and train our minds to seek liberation! Jaya Guru Datta!

JGD.When the Atma realises the Abolute Truth, It feels the liberation from the bondages. The bondage is the Physical expression of the Mind.My father.Mother etc. are expressions towards the outer shell. He looked like this or she looked like this are the expressions of the Mind.

Jgd.If mind turns towards our Gurudev Appaji it will take to liberation and reaches us to sat-chit-ananda the eternal bliss. It mind turns to other than this it leads to clutches of bondage. sgd

What a power the mind has …! Heaven and Hell ! Both is possible, a n d in one life also !

when I watch the video, I see a combination between the valley rocks and dear Swamiji,
the same colours . Lit by the sunshine. So, if we focuss on the sunshine, bathing in it,
we have the possibility – by association – to visualize dear SWAMIJI and feel enlightened :
Even while watching the darkness in the beginning of my view over the landscape,
I fell into such a reverential mood.
We often interpret the darkness as something that haunts us, but no : it`s nature, too,
and what a kind of grandeur and majestical BEING it is, together with the sun.

    I like this Video !

Ps : I think Kalikamba will like it, too.

    Jaya guru datta.

A beautiful MMS that strikes us with a reality check and gives a chance to introspect the reasons for the rollercoaster rides that we go thru’ in a day-day life and hypocrisies the life offers in a platter. With Pujya Appaji and His teachings providing us the keys to realize this fundamental cause, May be it dawns on us to control this and define your destiny…..

Praying Pujya Appaji to continue to be the charioteer of our delusionary minds..

    Sree Guru Datta

if I cannot comment sri swamijis mms I feel very unhappy. happily today I fought through all hindrances and experience again how profoundly and holistic our beloved sadguru teaches us with these one-two-minute-videos containing truth absolute. I remember sri swamiji explaining in danmark 1999 that we can turn the key for the bank safe to the right to close it or to the left to open it. it’s just one key and one keyhole. we have the choice to use the mind this way or the other way. I did not understand it then. by Your patient teaching I can see more and more clearly that as human beings we do have the choice. It is the mind alone which is the cause for bondage or liberation. and it is sadguru alone who guides us on the way. may I be able to follow unfaltering joyfully and in all humility.

    Jai Guru Datta.
This healing music tune by Appaji makes me sleep well. It is an experience that I have been getting since I started to listen to Appaji’s music before I fall asleep. If I happen to fall asleep without putting on His music, I tend to have all sorts of weird dreams. Raga Sagara works well for me. Thanks to Appaji. Jai Guru Datta.
