Grand Piano Concert

His Holiness Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji gave an improvisational piano concert on 13th February 2010 in the wonderful Nada Mantapa auditorium in Avadhoota Datta Peetham, Mysore.
Sri Swamiji’s unique play of his signature movements on the D model grand concert piano from the legendary piano makers, Steinway and Sons brought a new dimension to Piano music.
Music vibrations enveloped Nada Mantapa that evening and drenched the audience. The mellow and sweet notes emanating from the brand new piano was a musical treat.

Nada Dhyana Raga Sagara – Singapore

Pujya Sri Swamiji’s hundredth tour was for a musical reason. Worldwide audience had come to Singapore’s premier concert venue, Esplanade to hear the soothing sounds of Pujya Sri Swamiji’s Music on 24th January 2009. Accompanied by stalwart artists, Sri Swamiji’s two hour long concert was a memorable one. In this video, we hear Sri Swamiji playing Raga Mohana.

His Holiness Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji visited Singapore from 22nd to 25th January 2009 as part of the 100th Musical tour. On 24th January 2009, Saturday, Sri Swamiji conducted a memorable and wonderful “Music for Meditation and Healing” concert with the name “Nada Dhyana Raga Sagara” in the Esplanade concert hall. This architectural gem is one of the iconic venues for music and culture in South East Asia. Built in the shape of a Durian, the national fruit of Singapore, this concert venue with state of art sound, light, seating and stage was transformed in to a celestial musical fountain.

Esplanade’s 1,600-seat Concert Hall boasts superb acoustics. These features include reverberation chambers and an acoustic canopy which adapts the hall for different musical performances, producing optimum sound at every concert.

Sri Swamiji started the concert at 7.30 PM and played the traditional “Pranava Swarupam”, followed by singing of “Ekadantaya” a self composed Bhajan. The central piece of the concert was “Nada Dhyana Raga Sagara” a Raga Malika of Ragas Dharmavati, Chakravaka, Mohana, Shadvidhamargini and Keeravani. Sri Swamiji concluded the evening with Rain drops melody and Raga Ragini Mangala.

The program was organized by the joint efforts of Datta Yoga Centers all over the world under the stewardship of Sri.K.V.Aiyappan of Singapore.

Sri Swamiji’s expert development of the Ragas accompanied by able support of the celestial message team and Dr. N. Ramani on flute, Dr. Manjunath on Violin, Dr. Ella Venkateswara Rao on Mridanga and Vid. V. Suresh on Ghatam completely showcased each Raga in its full form.

H.E. Dr. S. R. Nathan, President of the Republic of Singapore and Mrs. Urmila Nathan graced the program as chief guests. They attended the program fully. Sri. Rajendran, Chairman of Hindu Endowment Board and several other dignitaries attended the concert.

Devotees and music lovers had come from Canada, USA, Venezuela, Trinidad, South Africa, Zambia, England, France, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand to attend this historical concert. The program was transmitted by Singapore Broadcasting Corporations and was telecast live by Aastha TV and Aastha International TV.

Datta Yoga Raga Sagara – Lincoln Center, New York

The Prestigious Avery Fischer Hall in Lincoln Center, New York is widely acclaimed as one of the most prominent venues of performance in the world. Pujya Sri Swamiji’s music mesmerized the capacity audience in Lincoln Center on 19th July 2008. The guest artist, a violin virtuoso, Dr. L.Subramaniam masterful playing enriched the musical experience. This video excerpt of the concert shows Sri Swamiji playing Raga Simhendra Madhyama.

Nada Mantapa Raga Sagara – Mysore

Nada Mantapa in Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashrama Mysore is a purpose built auditorium. This acclaimed musical venue has world’s only Sapta Swara temple and many other music related features as part of the architecture of the hall. Thousands of concerts have featured here. Sri Swamiji regularly plays Music for Meditation in this Hall every year. In this short video feature, we hear Raga Veenavadini played by Sri Swamiji. This is a rare Raga seldom attempted on keyboard. Sri Swamiji’s adept playing of the Raga brings out sonorous notes indeed has healing efficacy. It was held on 29th May 2008 as part of 10th anniversary celebrations of the auditorium
