Happy Friendship Day Pujya Puttuji !! Thank you for the wonderful MMS.
    SGS Gems:
-God is the only friend of yours in the calamity and adversity.
    – Friendship is based on trust and dependability.
-Fill your mind with friendship and love, not with hostility.
-Be a friend to all, bird, beast, tree and man.
-Friendship with noble souls commands respect.
-Every friend was a stranger to begin with.
    -Betrayers will have no friends.
-He, who gives good advice is a true friend.
-Friendship is based on trust and dependability.
-With anyone, too much talk, and excessive friendship will lead to grief.
-What others think of you changes as per their mood.Fill your mind with friendship and love, not with hostility.
-Maintain the cheer of the aged with frequent friendly visits.
    -Be friendly and helpful.
-Words that do not disturb others, truthful speech, friendly talk, scriptural study, good habits – these constitute penance of the tongue.
-Share the tears and the smiles of your friends.
-Greed for recognition leads to unfriendliness.
-If you are gossiping about a friend then you are not a friend.
-Those whose love is pure and unselfish are friendly towards everyone.
-What should be put into practice? Compassion towards the destitute and friendship with the pious and noble.
-A true person does not fear at all. Vedanta does not consider fear as a friend of moral and spiritual life. Fear is an inhibitor of high action.
-The flight of birds signals triumph of friendship.
-No one should ever dismiss friendship, for whatever reason.
-False friendship, claim to knowledge without a qualified teacher, a town without a temple.
-Concentrate with silence on the magnificence of the creator. Fill the hearts with friendliness rather than enmity. Develop love of international brotherhood and establish world peace.
-We are limited in power, limited in our energies, but there is one unlimited power behind us. With all our weaknesses, if we have that intense faith that there is an infinite reality behind this universe, behind me, closest to me, and is my friend, my own inner self, ever ready to help me, we can get peae and freedom from tension.
-Even if friends forget you… And your kinsfolk forget you, Your ‘Guru’ won’t. Sachchidananda, Lord of true bliss eternal. Seven Hundred Sayings of Sachchidananda.

Recollecting the following Nandana, Jaya MMSes:

Our mind alone is our friend and enemy.

Only he who removes your sorrow is your true friend.

A real friend is one who remembers us not only in times of sorrow but also during happy moments.

In the highs and lows of life, God alone is one’s friend

Crooked friends are far more dangerous than complicated enemies.

The love in your heart will attract friends.

You cannot put a price on friendship.

    The wicked should be shunned.

Build back any broken trusts and friendships.

Choose friends carefully. The wicked lead you astray.

Guru befriends with love, cleanses with wisdom, and leads to liberation.

Remembering the interesting story on Coal by Pujya Bala Swamiji .

A grandfather and grandson were reading the Bhagavad Gita. The boy did not understand. The grandpa probably did.
The boy is reading and grandpa is happy. The boy said I will stop from tomorrow because I do not understand it. Grandpa told the boy to spill the coals from the basket. The boy did. He said go to the river and fetch water in the basket. The boy came back running. By the time he returned, the water had all spilled. He tried this several times. What is the use of using the basket? It is not going to retain the water, the boy said. Grandfather pointed out that at first the basket was black. Now after these repeated trips, the basket is clean and white. Bhagavad Gita, likewise will clean your mind. You must make repeated efforts. You should not run away discouraged.
