What superb words of wisdom Appaji! You have perfect knowledge of human mentality. I am always ready and happy to be served, to receive help, to have more comforts in my life, and to remain as lazy as life will permit. Rarely does it cross my mind that I should spring up and help others instead of lolling in my own luxuries. I live in the false belief that there is more joy in receiving and feeding my senses their favorites, rather than in sacrificing my comforts to help others. It is only after coming under your influence that it has even dawned in my thoughts that true happiness lies in thinking about the needs of others more than mine. Being ready, having the intention to help, and words alone of offers of help are not sufficient. Please bless me with the energy, skill, and the actual performance of helpful acts always, Sadgurudeva! Jaya Guru Datta

Indeed this is the way of life, to give and give freely. Why must we give only when we expect something in return? Then you are not be honest in your actions. This is not the correct teachings…. Seva must be performed freely, willing and truly. Seva can be performed anywhere, anytime… When we do this the feeling one gets from helping others and seeing just a simple smile is sufficient to encourage us to continue doing so…
