You have shown us by your example, Appaji, that our love and caring should extend not just to ourselves, or our immediate family members, but should extend to our community, our town, our country, and to the whole world, including not just human beings but all creatures that live under the sun. You have told us today that although the saying goes, “Service to man is service to God,” that we should extend our services to other living creatures as well. You have set up a model for us by establishing a parrot Rehabilitation Center at Shuka Vana at the Mysore Ashram, where you take in and give proper medical treatment and loving shelter to injured, neglected, abandoned, and sick parrots.
