  1. When the Nada of ‘Shantirastu’ fills our minds, it’s so soothing.. those visuals in the early frames just don’t fit in.
That mismatch is intentional. Ah yes! It provokes this thought.. If our minds are so full of Sathguru’s Nada, where is the room for anger.. let alone being enslaved by it?
    Pranams dearest Sathgurudeva!
You’re Varada Ganapathi showering us with blessings (vara) to overcome obstacles on our path of progress.
You’re our Eternal Mother (Sanatanayai) showering us with unconditional love and compassion. Even animals & birds around you enjoy that grace.
In such grace, we are fortunate to be blessed with abundance of Shanthi (Peace of mind), Pushti (Wealth, Nourishment) and Thushti (Satisfaction, Contentment).
When you say.. “In every world (sarvaloka), in every moment (sarvakala), so be it (astu) that we are always in peace (shanthi)”.. We follow you. We have no reason at all to allow anger into our minds. Ever.
    Jaya Guru Datta. Your Puttuji

Jaya Guru Datta. there is a poem in Telugu that all Telugu speaking people must have heard/read –
“తన కోపమె తన శత్రువు తన శాంతమె తనకు రక్ష” This is the perfect visual for the poem – the bhajan also teaches the samething to all of us. I read just somehwere, someone’s quote that holding onto anger is like holding a red hot piece of iron to throw at someone else – ultimately the holder gets hurt. It is also medically proven that it takes more energy/focus to frown than smile… then why frown and receive unwanted consequences… Thank You Appaji for guiding all of us in the right way to get rid of anger and not be enslaved to that. Jayaho Appaji

I am forgetful. I am sometimes negligent. I do thoughtless things. I get hurt when others get irritated with me at such times. When others do similar mistakes, it is wrong of me to get annoyed and act hurtfully towards them. I am learning and practicing to be more tolerant and to adjust to inconvenient situations more easily than before. A lot of times others around me make what I consider as mistakes, because they have not had my level of training or my level of experience in life, or are not as quick thinking as I expect them to be. As aunt Venkamma said in Swamiji’s Life History, speaking of the foolish and inconsiderate comments made by the villagers about her brother’s depressed state of mind, “That is just their level of culture and understanding. They cannot rise any higher”. There is no sense in trying to show anger at them or trying to correct them. It is best to leave people alone to their small mindedness and just to get on with life. My anger will eat me. My hurtful nature, if I hurt others, will also heap more sin on me. Both ways I am the one to suffer. One situation where I am still unable to control my anger is when I see someone hurting an innocent creature. If anger is unwarranted even at such times, I pray to Swamiji to correct my thinking and to help me to act in the right manner. Jaya Guru Datta

jgd pranaams Satguru ji. For a true spiritual seeker there is no place for anger as anger is the result of unfulfilled desires and lack of self control, in social life if one knows how to make use of anger without becoming a slave of anger it may not harm. May Lord Datta be with us we are in His refuge onhn sgd

Jaya Guru Datta. This happens very often and we are even more agitated because we fall prey to this negativity very easily and always blame others for it . Praying to Sri Swamiji to give us the strength to be alert and watchful to such negative emotions which simply drain us of us vital energies and does good to none. Jaya Guru Datta! For a long time, I had been viewing myself as a quite soft, good-hearted guy. But I didn’t want to look at my angry side which didn’t come up so often (?), but wasn’t even well hidden. What comforts me a bit is that I’m much more aware of it, believing that this is already the most important step. I can also state that by being associated with Appaji for some years now, I do believe my anger has diminished through Your teachings. Please continue to bless me by taking away my anger. Sri Guru Datta!

Jaya Guru Datta. We must forever strive to control our senses and emotions. Anger has been described as the worst of the vices. May we gain strength from our Sadguru’s divine presence to keep on the straight and narrow path.

  3. Jaya Guru Datta. Is there such a thing as righteous anger? Or is that only for God? Maybe this is my problem, I get so angry because I sit in judgment and say how immoral and unjust…. Is this ego talking and turning into anger? Please help me Mother. I only want to be the slave of our beloved Satguru, not to anger or anything else. Sri Guru Datta.

  4. Jgd.Anger is Our Best Enemy.A moments lose of Tolarence leads to un-repairble damage to the ody,Mind and the society.Keeping the Anger in control is like riding a un-tamed Horse. As days pass when the ridergets upper hand the Horse starts running at the command.Like -wise cultivate the Mind and self Anger gets controlled.

    • Pavani Kamalapuram on April 29, 2013 at 11:50 pm

In anger, we behave the lion or tiger, that instill fear in the surroundings and end up hurting someone…when someone is angry with us, we still get disturbed and troubled. In both the cases, we are getting affected negatively. As Appaji said numerous times repeatedly, anger is the main enemy that needs to be controlled and eventually eradicated. His music, bhajans, voice, presence and teachings all calm the mind and train us to be patient and remain balanced in all situations. Praying to Appaji, that I do not burst out in anger no matter what the situation and also keep a distance from situations that make me uncomfortable.

A good lesson , Appaji has given today through this MMS 334, which has got a deep inner meaning also. According to me here the two main aspects are Slave and Anger. Of course the anger is part and part of our body itself. This is because in Mother’s creation in nature even the wild animals and we as humanbeing cannot give up completely the anger. This we can see in the photography also. The reason behind is the circumstances may some time lead us to anger which is beyond our control. But according to me, Appaji is warning us that we should not slave to anger. In this Kaliyuga , we can see so many people are salve to Drugs, to Drinks, to Smoke etc and they are not realizing that the happiness they are getting only temporary But ultimately they will become slave to serious diseases and finally will become desperate and end the life with out the purpose of this humanbirth. Inotherwords According to Appaji it is a waste Soul. Similarly if we become slave to Anger it will lead to stress, tension and BP etc which will spoil our life in due course. Not only that sometime we will not be able to control the balance of our mind in which case it may lead todo any sin and even we may go to any level and finally lead to depression and thereby what ever we do any cruel against the nature is beyond the control .This is what we are seeing in today’s world through Media and news paper. Therefore to overcome these facts , we have to follow a spiritual path through the Sadguru Whose words and teachings should follow properly from our early part of our life. By doing so we will be able to control our mind, will get more willpower and thereby we will not slave to anger. Our Appaji is NadaYogi , NadaBrahma and due to that by listening to His music or Bhajan itself will control our all sense organ and on any account we will not slave to anger. The Bhajan is also apt for this MSG. JGD.

Humble prostrations at the lotus feet of Our Varada Ganapathiswaroopa
    Sathgurudeva _/\_!!
Sathgurudeva’s Discourse in Peethapuram Ashrama, April 22, 2005..
“Your anger destroys you only. People get away from you. Not only that, you will incur their curse or wreath. Don’t be angry anywhere. Don’t hurt anyone. I want my Datta devotees to be calm and quiet people. You can never hurt or injure or belittle anyone. You can never claim such rights on anyone. Everyone is a creation of God. It is because of your Karma that the person and the situation appear so. What can they do for it? Or what can you do for it? Be happy and positive.”
Appaji, we will give up anger and follow Your words and spread love, joy, happiness, and gratitude around. Anger is D- anger. It only causes self-grief and makes us be in constant regret and negativity. On the other hand observing patience in one moment of anger, we can escape one hundred days of sorrow.
Love compounds itself and makes us be in constant bliss. Your state is Happiness. Through Love we will be able to merge with You Sat-Chit-Ananda. Thank You Appaji for reminding us of this very important lesson with World Peace & Love Bhajan “Shantirastu “.

there are many times in this life where we can respond in anger or choose to not resond and rest in the assurance of goddess Mother. Anger has the ability to snatch not only your well achieved peace of mind but even your soul! Why let others cause us to do this>
anger makes us misserable. A happy face (as seen in the photez) becomes a distorted and ugly face. Our insides clench andcauses turmoil!
we must learn acceptable ways to control our anger and beable to let go.. to all the great souls who have mastered control of their lion like anger… “LET ME BE AS THOU!: jgd

    • Archana Penukonda on May 6, 2013 at 1:50 am

Jaya Guru Datta! As I occasionally gain awareness of my own anger and ego, I see that it makes an otherwise okay situation appear very negative. Anger and ego take control of our minds and lead us to dark corners of unpleasant thoughts, irrational behavior, hurtful tendencies and sinful actions. I used to think that anger was a natural and acceptable reaction to unfavorable situations, but I’m realizing that anger is an enemy because it clouds my judgment. When I give in to anger, I know I’m slave to anger. Anger stems from desire. So, when I have anger, I need to examine the desire that was at the root of that anger. With the grace of Swamiji, I hope that anger and desire are rooted out from my mind. Obeisances at the Holy Lotus Feet!

    • Joseph on May 28, 2013 at 11:18 pm

Anger and ego complement each other and pushes us toward the wrong path or away from spirituality and righteousness. May lord bless us all to be devoid of ego and anger.
