  1. Lovely week starter!
Shiva wears the King of Serpents (Nagendra) as his garland. He empowers the very form (rupa) & vibration (nada) of the Pranava Mantra OM (I am existence).
Reflecting on this perspective makes one feel humble & connected to the world around. Otherwise, we risk getting carried away with admiring the peaks of life, and missing the way to reach there.
    Pranams Sathgurudeva!
Thanks a million for your compassion in inviting our attention to the peaks & the bases on which these peaks stand, at the same time. You are asking us to have our feet firmly on the ground, while we set our eyes on the tall peaks we aspire to reach. We will, because we benefit two ways:
    1. When we learn to stay grounded & connected to all around, we keep our EGO in check from (E)dging (G)reatness (O)ut.
    2. We learn to build strong foundations before we start raising super structures in the air. That makes our achievements sustainable.
    Jaya Guru Datta. Your Puttuji

Today I had a lot of stress, or better: I made me a lot of stress. Now I took a warm bath and just few minutes before I came out of the water and knew very deep: be bounded more with your deeper inner level, then you can wait till the time is come to agitate. Now I see this video, and it tells me the same! It’s like a wonder! Dear Swamiji, you give me in each moment all, what I need for growing! Thank you so much!!!!!

Jaya Guru Datta!!! With the grace of Sadguru Deva we might reach greater heights in our lives. May it be in our education, profession, wealth or in knowledge. Our Sadguru Deva is reminding and instructing us to keep our feet always on the ground. Don’t lose the feel of the ground and fall from the heights climbed. Be cautious, and recollect the tougher steps crossed thus far. It will be like cutting the branch on which we sit. Base / Ground / Foundation is the key for success. Let us stand still, straight and strong. We must be indebted through out our lives to Pujya Sadguru Deva for instructing and guiding us even with the basics with everlasting compassion for His disciples. Sri Guru Datta!!!

jgd Maa Bhoo Devi if we always keep this thought in our mind, that all the hights have their root or base on earth we can never become egoistic instead we will start becoming more and more humble to receive Your blessings and prove to be Your loving children, thank You Swami Ji to teach us realities in simple ways onhn sgd

Jaya Guru Datta! Over the years I have seen individuals have small energy experiences and then think themselves realized, landing them in some bad situations and tough lessons. We are so fortunate that you have given us methods like Datta Kriya Yoga, meditation music, bhajans and mantras that help keep us grounded while still creating a gentle awakening if we follow your instructions. Thank you for the many experiences and opportunities you give us to grow and to serve. Sri Guru Datta!

  2. Jai Guru Datta

Jaya Guru Datta. Dearest Mother Sri Swamiji, I pray for knowledge, strength, devotion and faith in Sri Swamiji. Please take away my ego and sense of doership. This is false and in reality only Sri Swamiji bestows. Please give me a good foundation, a good base. I love you so very much. Sri Guru Datta

    • Madhavi on February 11, 2013 at 2:29 pm

    Jaya Guru Datta
Without foundation, nothing can grow high and strong. We need to stand steadily on the ground if we want to achieve good things in life. In order to be inspired for good deeds and perform them successfully, we need a strong inner foundation, which can only be our Sadguru Deva. HE is always in our hearts, so that the foundation is constantly in us. But again and again, we get distracted by external influences. If we are all the time aware of HIS presence in us we will be grounded on mother earth and feel steady and strong.
    Sri Guru Datta

Jaya Guru Datta Appaji – a very HEAVY MMS today… this has a Looooot of meaning and can only be felt. Appaji often says, devotees shouldnt forget the primary path through which they have come to Appaji – some come via volunteer services, some come via music/singing, some come via pujas/worship etc. not to forget the ROOTS of the journey, Appaji asks us to be in that form for sometime and shows examples too… there is a saying in Telugu, “ఎంతటి వీరుడైనా నేల విడచి సాము చేయరాదని ” – even the greatest warrior cannot foin devoid of ground…Thanks a lot Appaji

    OM NAMAH SIVAYA
My beloved SADGURU, what ingenious message! We have to feel our ground in the same time we experience peaks. To stay on the ground is a big challenge.
Thank YOU for this wonderful MMS with this beautiful bhajan.

If we want to climb up the mountain to reach the beautiful Lord Siva on top, we have to start by climbing little rocks, learn all the necessary rules of mountaineering and exercise daily. Our book of mountaineering are these wonderful MMS who are mirroring all the great aspects we have to consider when we are on our way to the peaks.
With the great music of Sri Swamiji in the ear the effort of climbing reduces to a pleasant afternoon walk.

Jaya Guru Datta! Dear Appaji, thank You for lifting us to spiritual hights and yet also taking care that we are firmly rooted, so that we don’t lose ourselves. This is also about appreciating the base (like muladhara), not only the top / sahasrara. Every single part is necessary to build a beautiful mountain. Sri Guru Datta!

Jaya Guru Datta! It doesn’t take much for our ego to surface. A simple praise or recognition from our peers is enough for the ego to get going. Nature offers us many lessons in humility. While blending beautifully with the rivers, trees and rocks that grow on it, the mountains stay grounded. They don’t lose their majesty or grandeur on account of being grounded. We’ve seen many MMS messages about ego, perhaps because this could be the single biggest downfall for even true sadhakas. History shows how even great sages like Vishwamitra, Bhrugu etc had to suffer due to their ego. True scholarship has no room for ego. MMS # 6 said that Guru destroys our ego and shows us pure love. But, for that to happen, we need to surrender to our Sathguru by keeping the ego in check. May we always learn from Nature, which is a manifestation of the Almighty. May we always see the One in everything. Obeisances at the Holy Lotus Feet!

As a spiritual Master for us, what a nice lesson , Appaji has given to us through today’s MMS. Here I just recollect a comparison between the Teacher and Guru. For a student a Teacher is a guide on the path. At the same time the Guru is the pointer to the way. That is what Appaji has shown in the photography which is very apt for the MSG. Now basically we have to understand from this MMS, that we should reduce our ego to a great extend by learning to grow from the ground level. To practice like that, we have to follow the spiritual path through our Sadguru. Here if you compare how a teacher is taking responsibility to build up the carrier of a student, similarly our Sadguru will teach us from the ground level and make the foundation strong and then lead to go to the higher level of spirituality and finally show the way to liberation. That should be the ultimate aim of our life, provided we should also follow His words and teachings strictly. That is why even the tall peak of the mountain have their base from the ground level which will be very firm also. Even The Lord Siva in the photography wearing the serpant in His neck and in a sitting posture with His full Rupas which will make us to feel humble and teach us to behave around this world also like that. The Bhajan is also very apt for this MSG. Now Appaji we got your concept and learn to be humble in nature and overcome our ego and there by develop our spiritual path . JGD.

if I want to enjoy the beautiful view from the top of the mountain, I will have to first clim up the hill. A good pair of shoes might be needed too, in order not to slip and fall.

Ego and desires always go hand in hand.Yesterday Appaji reminded us how to stay above earthly love (desires) . In today’s MMS, Appaji explains how to keep our EGO in check from (E)dging (G)reatness (O)ut and the need to build strong foundations.

Just as a root supports the tree, and just as a foundation supports the building, the Lotus feet of Sadguru are the foundation for our spiritual journey. Seeking your blessings that my mind always happily run towards You, Your Lotus Feet like those Deer !!.
    Om Nagendraya Namaha !!
Srii Guru Datta !! Om Namo Hanumathe Namaha !!

  3. Is not the light brightest at the peak? And how do we possibly get there? At your feet!
At your feet, You have taught us how to reach the highest peaks within our own being..Through sitting on Earth and doing pranayama and Kriya yoga.
With Hanuman you are teaching us how to fly! Pranams Swamiji!

Appaji is advising us to have strong foundation for our spirituality and knowledge. It is also a warning to us that we should never forget our roots and our Sadguru, however famous and prosperous we are. Jaya Guru Datta.

Faith can move even mountains. The deeper the roots, the taller and stronger the tree can grow.
The deeper our faith and surrender, the more we can grow and get closer to Appaji.

Let me be YOUR tree, Appaji,
with the feet rooted in the ground,
with the branches reaching out to the sky,
    flowering in Your honour,
bringing rich fruit for all beings I meet,
letting go the leaves in autum,
turning in in winter to my innermost core,
    to YOU,
to regain new energy for when the time comes
    to sprout again…
