  1. {Delude: Deceive. Cheat. Fool}

The problem is always out there. I am always right. Drugs are the problem.. they get me addicted. Internet is the problem.. it gets me lost in that virtual world. Television is a problem.. it makes me a couch potato. Money is a problem.. it deceives me into believing it can buy me peace of mind. Desires delude the mind into such false belief.

Pranams Gurudeva ! You’re our Ma Durga. Please destroy that ugly Mahishasur within us, who misleads us to externalize our follies. Please destroy that tamas inside us & shake us out of our comfort zones. Seated on that Lotus Flower, you’re our Mahalakshmi (prosperity). You’re Nitya Srichakra Pujaka. Your mission is evidence to how Ma Lakshmi nourishes righteous, disciplined & diligent hands dedicated to selfless service of humanity. This Mahanavami, bless us so that our capacity for selfless service to your mission multiplies with every passing moment. Jaya Guru Datta, Your Puttuji.

Jaya Guru Datta, Swamiji, each one of us plays so many roles in our lives. Mother, wife, teacher, daughter, son, husband, employee, rich man, poor man….we identify with our economic status, our car, our home. But you have told us each day to ask ourselves “Who Am I?” I love that when you practice Kriya Yoga or meditation that you can sit down and remove all of those masks we wear each day that keep us from seeing our true selves and, at least for that time, be truly who we are. We need moments like this to let go of all of our fantasies of how we should act or what we should have and to just “be.” You teach us that the world out there is a reflection of our thoughts. When we can be calm and still with our “real” selves, then perhaps the delusions You speak of today will drop away….

  2. We say that money is Lakshmi.
In his explanation of Ramayana Appaji said that Lakshmi is Maya, illusion. In the song about Sri Jayalakshmi Mata, Swamiji describes Mother Jayalakshmi as Maha Maye– the great illusion.
Swamiji also has said that Lakshmi, meaning prosperity does not only refer to money but also to health, education, children, courage, and many other things that we desire and wish to enjoy. If all the above are only an illusion and not to be desired, but feared and stayed away from, what is the point of life?It is only lord Vishnu who is in control of Maya and can enjoy it at will without risk. We are not Vishnu. What are we supposed to do? Not only money but children also delude us. For safe side let me only pray for the dust from Sadgurudeva’s lotus feet. Jaya Guru Datta

JAYA GURU DATTA! We learned from the Bibel that we should admire God and not the golden calf, which stand for money and power. I prostrate to Your holy Lotusfeet, beloved Sadgurudeva, beloved Sri Jayalakshmi Matha. OM JAGANMARE NAMAHA!

Jai Guru Datta! Whatever it is in this world, we may use it to go deeper into illusion or we may use it to come closer to our goal. The only way without any risk is our Sadgurudeva! Concentrating on Him and Him alone will free us from the grip of money. This is the comfortable highway! Let me pray for this single-pointedness.

Thank you Appaji. Yes, money is inanimate how can it delude? It is through your guidance that we see that true wealth is in knowledge. With this wisdom, these things become guideposts for our sadhana. If I feel I am wanting something too much, I have you to remind me of what is real as long as I practice your teachings. Jai Guru Datta Appaji!
The day we truly realize that all our Prosperity: knowledge, intelligence, money, assets etc. are bestowed to us by our compassionate SadhGuru, we become completely humble and transcend all the delusions and illusions. It is a tough journey of many challenges/hurdles to attain this understanding.
Pujya Gurudeva – Please bless us with your Grace so we can utilize all our abilities and our prosperity to serve YOU in all Humanity as your instruments… thereby, getting over the delusion of ownership and doership. Om Sri MahaLakshmyai Namaha. Sri Guru Datta.

    • on October 23, 2012 at 1:04 pm

Om Sri Mahalakshmai Namaha, Appaji. You are our Maha Lakshmi. We want to get intoxicated by devotion towards you! That will do all that needs to be done, and will undo all that needs to be undone! You are Adi Guru, and You are all capable! Jaya Ho Datta, Appaji.

  4. Jaya Guru Datta. Let me focus on that which is permanent… Not fleeting things like money. True wealth is not to be found in material possessions. It is not money that is evil but the love of money. May our hearts be filled with love for God, Goddess, Truth, Bliss, or whichever form of Mother Swamiji we prefer to worship. So many people waste their lives in pursuit of money… Please do not let me be such a person. I have so many ideas about what to do with money right now…please guide me to do Your will. Please help me to not be attached to the fruits of any actions and to not see myself as the doer. May all of my actions be dedicated to You, Dearest Mother. Please guide me to use money to help others, and in doing so let this be a way to worship and remember You. I love you, I love you, I love you. Sri Guru Datta.

Yes Appaji I am guilty. I have deluded myself into thinking that money would solve many of my problems. Slowly you are bringing me out of this delusion. I have watched greed for money destroy relationships and commit very serious sins. I see now that whatever I truly need materially , you bestow. Please let me never be so deluded to forget You and God! You are my most precious gift! Om namo Hanumate namaha. Jaya Guru Datta

JGD. Thanks again Puttuji for reminding us that the root issue is self-control. And I remember Swamiji saying that running away to the forest to avoid money, things and people is not the most optimal approach either. So may the whole world be our spriritual training ground; may we live in the world but not be of the world; may we pass all Datta’s tests. JGD.

How much we give is perhaps not as important as what percentage of what we have, are we giving to others who deserve it. A billionaire giving a million is not as beneficial to him spiritually as a beggar giving up his everything. Please, Sri Swamiji, let it fully sink into our minds that none of this is real. Let it be a constant awareness with us that this body of ours, this mind, these feelings, these desires, these relationships, these possessions, none of this is real. Please raise us to the level where just like Lord Vishnu, we also treat this entire Maya only as a make-believe movie that we merely are witnessing for our pleasure. Please keep us from getting drawn into its snare to become victims. This is my sincere and fervent prayer. Jaya Guru Datta

Pranamams to Swamiji. Earning money in the rightful, legal and appropriate and righteous
path will not only augment our peace of mind but also coffers. Oh! Gurudeva, your UNSEEN
PRESENCE AND PROTECTION IS MORE THAN A BIG WEALTH POT. THANK God, I have
not got this mad hankering after money. Saving and diligence is one thing but coveting
by shortcut method is another. Let me not fall a prey to this.

  5. Jaya Guru Datta
The whole wold is wrought in illusion- all our relations, movements, matings etc. etc. In that order the gods and goddesses too are not revealed in their true quality but in illusory form. Hence what Sri Swamiji has said in the MMS is veryapt and needs be contemplated upon for our ‘gnaana”. Obeissance to Appaji.

Money is a form of transaction, in olden days rice bags, silver or gold coins were used in exchange to purchase, to make business or transaction easy, money was created by humans for convenience. But unfortunately we are getting attached and deluded with money in our account and this is creating the entire galloping of life. If one is not so selfish for accumulating money, then probably we can be much free from selfish motives. It is true, money is essential to survive, but not so much that we are deluded. Few messages of Sri Swamiji are extraordinary that they are commonly to be followed by everyone.

Dabbu is interchangeable with Sampattu. But Sampattu cannot be interchanged with Dabbu. Sampattu is a wider gamut of wealth, it can be knowledge, wisdom, good health, excellent speaking ability etc. So Appaji, praying for sampattu is much more sensible than praying for dabbu. And I love the simplicity of this MMS. So precise, yet simple. I have seen people in my family who have acquired what we call in Telugu dabbu-madam. They fail to see the truth, fail to see ethics and values. They are so engrossed in earning notes and coins and they fail to realise that those notes and coins cannot buy them mother’s affection and care. Pray to you Appaji that they realize the value of sampattu rather than dabbu. Jaya Guru Datta, Sri Guru Datta.

    • pushpa on October 25, 2012 at 1:40 pm

Money by itself is not bad, it is rather nice to have, only if we get attached to money or get it by unrighteous meens, becomming gready, than we get deluded. Then ….OM namo hanumate namaha.

Money does not delude anyone ~ 23 Oct 2012

Sri Swamiji has very clearly explained the consequence of running after money, through this MMS. Money is necessary for our living, But we must learn to be content also, for there is no end to desires and to fulfill our unending desires, we hanker after money! Money should be used for right purposes in life. We must learn to share our wealth with the needy. All the wealth we claim as ours is nothing but a blessing of the Lord. It should be used in service of God and mankind. Otherwise, it brings along with it sin that is hard to get rid of. Let us not make our desire for more wealth decide our way of life. We must decide our way of life and use the money we have appropriately. This is an alarm raised by Sri Swamiji for in the current times, people equate money with happiness, contentment, joy, status, fame etc. Money cannot buy everything. Let us use our wealth for the right cause. Jaya Guru Datta

    • Sarumati on October 27, 2012 at 12:49 pm

Money is a real “Problem – Zone”
to me, because I like beautiful things that I can buy with money,
I like luxury and convenience, having a nice time, enjoying life,
and for nearly everything one needs money, and if it`s only the petrol for driving …
To decide, what is necessary and what not, is the big question for me. Because :
every 7th second, a human being is dying out of hunger in this world,
and we live in luxury. Is that correct? I don´t think so.
On the other hand, to create something in this material world, we need money,
we use our energy to earn it, and money itself is energy (one can feel when one has it).
So … what to do? Pray that governments get the kick to support the poor more than the rich …
How will this be possible? We can see it in the Arabian states, how much courage,
how much readiness for sacrifice – even one`s own life, to change the system,
and we think about, what orange juice tastes best and what to buy next .
Beautiful Video ! Lakshmi should be approached the right way, are we thankful?
I doubt, many are not. The more we get, the more greedy we are.

Then LAkSHMI power ceases, of course, and we complain.

    Jai Guru Datta

how wonderful to see sri swamiji as mahalakshmi in circling golden and white light!
the fundamental truth of this mms make me think of sri aurobindos enlightening description if money: «money is the visible sign of a universal force. in it’s origin and true action it belongs to the Divine. all wealth belongs to the Divine and those who hold it are trustees, not possessors. it is with them today, tomorrow it may be elsewhere.» (quoted from The Mother)
may we – by the grace of our beloved sadguru – be(come) worthy trustees of the wealth – whether in the form of money or in any other form – that You bestow on us out of Your all-embracing love.
    OM GURU MATA
