    Jaya Guru Datta.
Reminds me of the Sattvic food served in the Ashram is so delicious without the use of pungent spices and vegetables. Tamarind rice is easy to cook, tasty and is also one of the items offered as Annarchana during Navaratri celebrations.

Growing up, I’ve often heard the term “Annam Parabrahma Swaroopam” meaning that food is revered as God. We were taught never to waste food and to eat in moderation. We were taught to share food with other beings by setting aside at least a morsel of food for birds/ants/insects before we start eating.

Thank You Puttuji for giving us recipes through these divine MMS messages. Pranams at the Holy Lotus Feet.

  1. Jai Guru Datta Swamiji.

    SGS Gems:
    Annam Brahma (Bhaktimala Jan 1992)

    Annena Hetvaa Jagadamba !! Lokaan
    Karoshi Paasi Kshapayasyajas ram
    Tadbrahma Yatyerpita Manna -Mantar
    Mohaandhasamhaarti Virat Swaroope_/\_!!

Meaning: O Divine Mother-the creator of all these worlds (Loka) !! Using this food as the basis, You are creating the beings, sustaining them and once again destroying them. However, O Virat Swarroopini !! The food that has been offered to You itself becomes Brahma. Such Prasada destroys Moha (bondage and attachments) that exist within the mind. Those who thus worship food as Parabrahma enjoy two kinds of blessings. They will never have to face shortage of of food across all their future births. They will be blessed with the Virat Swaroopa Darshana (vision of the Universal Form) of Devi !!

Thank You Puttuji for the wonderful Tamarind Rice Prasadam. This is a very favorite prasadam of Perumal temples, South Indian temples and Our Ashrama!!
Sivaya Guruve Namaha!! Sri Guru Datta!! Om Namo Hanumate Namaha!!
