Humble prostrations at the lotus feet of our Skandaswaroopa Sathgurudeva_/\_!!

  1. When waves lash against a shore of sand, there is some movement of sand between the sea & the shore. If the shore is rocky as we see here, any number of waves that repeatedly lash make no impact on the shore.
Similarly, only repeating a sound is like cramming the night before an examination. We hardly remember what we crammed a day later. No impact.
Devoid of devotion & reflection, the mind is like a hardened rock. Repeated japa has no impact on such a mind.
Concentration is when the mind is fully absorbed in its object of devotion. Nothing else exists. Such intense absorption with devotion enables inner connections with our higher nature.
    Pranams Skandaswaroopa Sathgurudeva!
That peacock & squirrel are fully absorbed into their search for food.. not just looking. So too, when we seek to connect with our higher nature, we will stay absorbed in devotion at your lotus feet. Thanks a million for the teaching. We follow you.
    Jaya Guru Datta! Your Puttuji

Jaya Guru Datta! I try to stay in Japa as much as I can during the day. It can become mere repetition. Thank you for the reminder to come back to focus and love with these sacred syllables. Sri Guru Datta!

Jaya Guru Datta! Just a few days ago, Pujya Sri Swamiji was mentioning in His discourse that a lot of times, the digital mantra counter on devotees’ fingers is clicking, but there’s no devotion. The devotee may be talking to someone or going about their chores with no attention to the mantra. Pujya Sri Bala Swamiji says that a lot of times devotees chant the Datta Stava so quickly that, there’s no reflection on the meaning of the prayer. Pujya Sri Bala Swamiji also says that at the very least, before we start praying, we should take a few moments to reflect on the form and attributes of the deity we are going to pray to. In most cases that image will stay with us throughout the prayer. Swamiji, You’ve given us mantras, You’ve motivated us to chant them repeatedly and You are teaching us how to chant and pray. Truly, like Puttuji says, following Your instructions is all we need to do. Pranams at the Holy Lotus Feet!

Sometimes my repetition is automatic and machine like. When I put love and devotion into my chanting suddenly the deity is so much closer to me. I can feel the difference in energy, in my heart , along my spine and I feel so happy. Jaya Guru Datta. Om namo Hanumate namaha.

Jai Guru Datta! If we don’t add love to everything we do, like salt to a dish, it will not be tasty.

Pranams, Puttuji for giving valueable Devine message.Let us start chanting mantra from today onwards by following Puttuji

  3. Jaya Guru Datta Pranam Appaji
This is a reminder that even though the mouth is repeating the mind can be engaged elsewhere. Only when the mind is silenced and focused will true concentration manifest. This silence in the mind can only come with Appaji’s grace.

    JAYA GURU DATTA,
SRI SWAMIJI explained this with an example ,if a tape recorder repeats a MANTHRA sevaral times,
it wont get any benefit,so Repetition is a waste process with out paying attention.

Jaya Guru Datta. I pray for my heart to always be filled with love for You Mother Swamiji. That will empower any mantra. Let my mind concentrate on the divine lotus feet of our beloved Satguru who is Lord Shiva and Mother Goddess and everything. You are my Jesus and Allah. My Mother and my Father. I love you, I love you, I love you. Om Namah Shivaya. Sri Guru Datta.

Jaya Guru Datta, It’s very easy to kid ones self by doing Japa that one is engaged in meaningful mantra chanting, even when sitting in ones meditation room ones mind can be in the kitchen. When doing japa in the kitchen ones mind can be in the meditation room, in each case the mantra has been going on on it’s own without any focus. It is good to be reminded that concentration will energies the effect of the mantra and there for, making it worthwhile to do. For us we are most concentrated first thing in the morning when our minds are fresh. It is during the rest of the day in pursuing each days mantra count goals, that the quality drops off Thank you Swamiji for pointing out our short comings. Shri Guru Datta

    Jaya Guru Datta
    Om Savitre Namah
Sri Swamiji is helping us so much to achieve concentration. When regarding the beautiful Guru Gita video we can concentrate on its wonderful images or on the music or on Sri Swamiji’s amazing voice or on singing with Him or on the understanding of the meaning. If we really want to absorb and understand the message of the Divine Guru Gita video then concentration comes.
It is necessary to have no anger and fear – they disturb concentration.
    Sri Guru Datta

Jaya Guru Datta Appaji – the saying, “abhyaasam koosu vidya” is revitalized with this message from Appaji – if it is just a mechanical repetition, the vidya MIGHT become koosu. however, if that is done with concentration, love towards what is being done and devotion to the ultimate object/objective – then it becomes perfect. It is not just practice – it is practice with presence (of mind) that makes it perfect. Thanks a lot for embellishing the sookti Appaji – it is possible only for Your Holiness.

What a nice teaching , Appaji has given today through this MMS. Puttuji you have also given a nice explanation about how several rocks seen in the photography lying in the shore are not at all disturbed and they are in their position or stand only even if the Waves are there. Similarly by seeing the photography we can realize how the peacock and squirrel are absorbed in their mind the concept to get food only at that time for existence of their life. In otherwords they concentrate their mind at that time only to get food. The music on key board by Appaji also gives a soothing effect by which it lead to develop concentration to our mind. Now as humanbeing , according to me, by seeing Appaji’s various MMS , He has indicated the important role of our mind in our life. The mind is the root cause for every thing in our life which every body knows. It is like waves which distrub our mind in various ways. Therefore to overcome from such distrubences we have to develop our spiritual knowledge through our Sadguru by listening to His words and teachings. If we practice like that the devotion will absorbe in our mind which will lead to concentration. Once the concentration is developed our connection with Sadguru to acquire the spiritual knowledge will also increase. That is what we need in this Kaliyuga and it is only going to be permanent in our life. All other things are just Maya only which will come and go in our life. Thank you Appaji to remind us properly and make our bondage with you so strong like Rocks till our life in this janma. JGD.

    Jaya Guru Datta Puttuji_/\_!!

Beautiful darshan of Sadgurudeva in yellow robes looks similar to Suryodayam (Sun rise) which provides a very good start to the week. “When waves lash against a shore of sand, there is some movement of sand between the sea and the shore. If the shore is rocky, any number of waves that repeatedly lash make no impact on the shore” With devotion and concentration we keep repeating your great explanation thereby understanding today’s MMS!! The little squirrel & the peacock – Shanmukha Vahana & National Bird of India fills our heart with Joy!!

    Jaya Guru Datta Appaji_/\_!!

    Sadgurudeva, Sachchidananda Unveiled:
“Concentration and oneness can be attained only by the grace of Sadguru.
Perfect control over the sense is the basic means for attainment of
    concentration”.

We will remember and follow the following MMSes.

Reciting the names of God is both prayer and meditation. MMS 45.
Chanting of Mantras controls the senses and improves focus. MMS 52.
Prayer enhances concentration. Concentration through absorption leads to God-Realization.
    MMS 65.
When we visualize in our hearts the all-knowing, all-powerful, all-pervasive God in a most pleasing form, we truly do get absorbed in that vision and do not feel like returning to our petty problems of daily life. These short journeys we make daily, through our prayers, into a higher plane of consciousness will, in course of time help us to reach our final destination.
The beautiful darshan of Sadgurudeva and listening to His Holliness divine voice transport us at once into a different state of mind. Sadgurudeva, we all know that you are Lord Datta and that you remain absorbed in the Supreme Consciousness, even while you are interacting with the world. In this Nandana MMS video you are showing us how we all should proceed to attain our state of divinity.
Just as education with modesty, wealth with sacrifice, relatives with affection is rare,so also penance with devotion to Guru is a rare thing. It was this reason why ShankaraAcharya wrote in Guru Ashtakam that inspite of all the resources,if one does’nt have devotion to Guru,it is of no use.

Thank you Appaji, for giving us this instruction and guidance. This is easy to incorporate into our everyday routine with your Grace.!!

Om Savitre Namaha !! Om Shanmukhaya Namaha !! Sri Guru Datta !!
    Om Namo Hanumathe Namaha !!

Only true love towards God can turn repetition into a prayer. True love will come when we accept our life as it is,and love God for everything He has given happily. True love will come when we develop the ability to just pray without asking for anything. True love will come with selfless seva and following His teachings. One day, we will surely get there,we just need to keep trying.
