  1. {paropakara – benevolence, assisting others}

    Oh Devi Ma ! All of nature (prakruti sarvambu), you wear as ornaments (mustaabu), in your cosmic universal form (viraat rupi)

    Close your eyes and call out to D e v i ! alongwith Sathguru.. and feel her presence in your heart.. So soulful is Sathgurudeva’s rendering. Devi is everywhere.

    Lakshmi Narassimha reminds us of the divinity resident in all things animate & inanimate. Such realization drives paropakara. How does divinity hoard from divinity?

    All knowledge that Ma Saraswathi bestows upon us should be shared for the welfare of humanity.. much like the trees do. The fruits of their endeavour are shared with the universe at large. As they share, trees don’t shrink.. they multiply. Knowledge multiplies when shared.

    Pranams Deviswaroopa Sathgurudeva!

    Today we learn the virtue of selfless sharing, from trees. We’re seeing you practice this virtue everyday. We’re following you. Jaya Guru Datta. Your Puttuji.

    Jaya Guru Datta, Swamiji! As I read this comment this morning, I thought of Jayalakshmi Mata and of the acorns I gathered at Navaratri for planting. Jayalakshmi Mata understood the lessons of nature. She loved the forests and the river and all living things. The sadhus she encountered there taught her in those natural places. We are so fortunate that you are teaching us to look to the natural things around us, not only to respect, love and preserve them, but also to learn from them. As I gathered acorns at Navartri, I realized that the fruit from one tree alone could propagate a whole forest. Trees understand the role they play in protecting and preserving our world. Without them we would die, just as without knowledge we would be unable to survive. What good is knowledge if it only goes with us when we die! It must be shared. Thank you so much, Swamiji for sharing the knowledge that Jayalakshmi Mata gave you…we are truly blessed!

    My first thought, when I read the text and saw the video: then Swamiji must be a tree! He gives always His fruits (music, speeches and others) to us, He never take something for Himself. My Swamiji is my tree which is alway near from me, also in big big storms!

    Jaya Guru Datta! The very essence of Datta is giving. Datta means gift. Lord Datta, our Sathguru has gifted Himself to us, to our cleansing, our upliftment, our happiness and our liberation. “Paropakaaram idam shariram” goes an old Sanksrit saying – the purpose of this body is to benefit and help others. No doubt our Sathguru is a living embodiment of this giving. Mata Jayalakshmi trained baby Satyanarayana very early, questioning Him about what the point was of an action if it didn’t benefit another being. Every act of Sathgurudeva is for the benefit of some (or all) devotees. This message gives the example of a tree that bears fruits for others. The tree doesn’t eat its own fruit, yet it survives even in difficult conditions and bears delicious fruit. Our Sathgurudeva grew up in difficult conditions bereft of love and comfort that every child needs, had no money or food, yet is the biggest giver that ever walked on earth. Each small move, every big action of Sri Swamiji is to help or uplift someone. Please bless us Sathgurudeva to always remember this and not to base our giving on our ego or on the gratitude of the recipient.

    Trees are part of nature, are source of energy for all of us and few plants are of medicinal value too. But this message conveys the nature of helping others. All of us should surely learn the quality of helping others always and be humble along with our merits. Amazing message to be implemented in day to day life to be a good human. May lord bless us all with qualities like that of tree, extending helping hand and humble always.

    Jai Guru Datta Appaji – A wonderful message for coming generations to learn from Nature and preserve the ecological balance! We will certainly walk in the footsteps of Swami Avadhoota Datta and learn the principles of ‘Nishkama Karma (desireless action and selfless service)’ from Trees (Nature).

    Kabir (a famous poet) had described the Selfless giving nature of a tree as ‘a Blessed Creature that only gives you its most precious fruits, even if you hurl stones at it’.
    Pujya Gurudeva – With your Compassionate blessings and Grace, I’m certain that we will reach that exalted state. Forever grateful!

    Sri Guru Datta!

    According to me Appaji’s today’s MMS is more or less connected to MMS 164 and190. In other words Appaji has refined these MMS and further gone deep in to it. Puttuji you have also given a nice explanation. The Mother Goddess is taking care of nature, wherein the trees, plants are growing, who in turn gives fruits and other things for the benefit of others with out expecting anything from us. Hence in turn our duty is also to protect them. In otherwords it is a part of our benevolence . That is a lesson Appaji is further giving to us through this MSG. Similarly Mother Sarswathi gives us knowledge which we should utilise in the proper way and there by it should be useful for others also. It means we should share our knowledge to others for their benefit also. That is also a part of our benevolence . Appaji You are a great example for this, because everyday You are doing Annadhana and not only that You are doing lot of other seva and charities .From this we learn a great lesson and do our best for the benefit of others and the society by considering it is also part of our benevolence . The photography and the music are very apt to this MSG. JGD.

    Just like the trees Appaji’s every action is for the benefit of others. Trees readily share and give up the fruit without keeping anything for themselves. Praying we all become trees and branches bearing the fruit of Appaji’s teachings and do selfless seva.

    Beautiful MMS message. We all should learn the selfless service from trees. Just by watering trees and plants, they give flowers, fruits and shade. Thank you Appaji for todays MMS message.

    • Hira Duvvuri on December 13, 2012 at 1:20 pm

    Sadguru Datta! You give, give, give, and continue to give. You are born only to give, it seems like. Instead of us taking, taking, taking and continuing to take, please help us also to give, give, give, and give, like you. Your radiant face shows that there is more joy in giving than in taking. Please teach us to be grateful not only while we take, but also to be grateful for the opportunity to give. Without your grace, the chance to give does not occur. How often I look wistfully at those who give with abandon their services, possessions and talents to you and wish that I could serve my Gurudeva in the same way! It is you, who gives us what we may share with others, and who gives us the mindset that wants to share. I pray also that you keep us from throwing stones of blame and criticism at those who give us so much, so willingly, to make our lives comfortable. Please make us all be like you, Sri Swamiji! Jaya Guru Datta
