Happiness lies in contentment  : There is a proverb in tamil that reads – Podum endra manme pon seiyum marundu.  ( The heart that says enough is the golden medicine ).  As long as this dil maange more, there will only be more stress and strain, more blood pressure and more heart burn. Looking at the half glass that is empty only aggravates negative feelings. Looking at the half glass that is full evokes positive enthusiasm. So Swamiji, please give me the strength to say enough..   and let me indulge myself only in your seva. Let me not long for anything other than being in your Seva!  JGD. Your PuttuGam..

Jaya Guru Hanuman, Being content is being satisfied with who we are, what we are, treating all good/bad experiences equally and knowing that everything happens for our own good……I came across a quote which also tells us how to be content….

    Patience in the present,
    Faith in the future
    Joy in the doing

Please give us strength to raise to this level….. Om namo hanumate namaha

  1. JGDD…desires lead to more karma, and even more desires…when i have a strong desire for something…i am never content, but when i remain in the moment, and have no desires…i am happy…i pray to be in the moment as much as possible through Your grace Appaji…SGDD

Zufriedenheit ist die Brücke zum Glücklichsein zeigt mir das Bild. Lasst uns sein wie dieses Känguru und auch bei kurzem Gras und steinigem Boden mit jedem Atemzug unser Mantra wiederholen!

It is not about what we don’t posses, it’s about how we realise what we are gifted with and enjoying them. Contentment is a state of mind which is happy with whatever we possess. This also means we shouldn’t be greedy and desirous that we don’t realise the happiness around us. Only when we realise this we develop that happiness within us too and be contended with whatever we have. May lord bless us to be happy with contentment. Wonderful message.

Jaya Guru Datta! It seems like the kangaroo at the end of the video is content, doing what it does and chanting the name of Lord Datta! A lot of the discontentment in life is self-inflicted. We search for happiness and harmony, but we are not happy with how we look or with how someone treated us or how much money we lost to the stock market. But knowing that life is a dream and the ups and downs are a part of our karma will perhaps help us focus on what really matters – that the true nature of the atman is bliss. In the association of Sathgurudeva, contentment fills our lives, as long as we are willing to empty the mind of all negativities. Obeisances at the Holy Lotus Feet!
