SGS Gems:
-Provide a healthy, balanced childhood for kids
HH in Hindu College grounds,January 23, 2005,Machilipatnam From Dattavani.org
My heart weeps when I see a poor person or a person with hunger. Because I too suffered with stomach warping hunger in my childhood. I believe in evolution and not spiritual revolution. Because it is wrong and short lived. I strongly believe in my mother’s words “Music helps and heals”. I try to connect music and spiritual life. It is my breath and my mission. We are not a family that believes in sentimental life, blind beliefs and un understandable spiritual or religious beliefs.

Infancy, manhood and old age are the 3 primary stages that a being passes through. During infancy and childhood, the being should obey the elders and while abiding by their commands, he should mentally strengthen the foundation for the spiritual journey. Prahlada is a great example of this. In accordance to the instructions received from his Guru, Sage Narada, Prahlada spent his entire time mentally contemplating upon Lord Narayana and in the end was blessed with success.
During the youthful days, the person should recollect that which has been learnt in childhood, practise self-restraint and continue on his path. This is a stage of turbulent mental changes. This is the stage wherein the being either achieves success or meets failure. The famous poet Kalidasa had declared that a ‘dheera’ (truly courageous person) is he who is not disturbed even when surrounded by enticing objects. Nurture by parents is very important in the upbringing of a child. Our character is set by the time we hit the ages 12 through 14. This character and its slight variations lasts through our lifetime. So, it is extremely important to raise children with the right moral and ethical values right from from the get go.
We are very blessed to be in the folds of Sri Swamiji. Datta family children get exposes to all the right formative influences. Bhajans, Bala Datta classes, DKY, VGBS, Satsanghs, Namasankeertana – all create the best impressions and seed the right values for a life full of all dimensional satisfaction.
Pujya Sadgurudeva – Thank You for blessing us in infinite ways. Puttuji, as always, thank You for brining us this wonderful MMS. The happy visuals make us very happy on this Saturday morning.
