Human mind is by nature unsteady, turbulent, strong and obstinate and therefore difficult to control. Such a mind is always extrovert. With such an outgoing mind, man cannot think of God. To train such a mind and make it turn towards God many means are described in our scriptures. One such effective means available to us is satsang. Satsang literally means to seek the company of the Truth. Sadguru or God is the only Truth that exists. Such Truth is eternal, priceless, timeless and supporter of perceived universe. Hence being associated with Sadguru or God is to be considered as real and greatest wealth.

Just this morning I was talking about a time in my life when I was given an opportunity to take a path that would have taken me away from Sri Swamiji, instead I made the choice to stay even though the other path was very tempting. This is a choice I have never regretted. Swamiji brings us all to many crossroads in our association with Him. Each time we choose Him He seems to draw closer. We have so many tests, but no matter how hard, we should always still continue our association with Him!

what makes a soul noble? The joy and the love for god in the heart and a selfless attitude towards life. What a blessing to be with such people, their simple presence lights up everything. What a great gift to be with beings like Sri Swamiji who is the noblest soul. Blessed are we, indeed.

What a beautiful MMS, Appaji has given on a happy Bogi Day. Normally people on this day, keep everything clean in their house and surroundings. Similarly Appaji wants to keep our mind clean and healthy , sothat we will have a perfect health also. The photography is so nice wherein we see Krishna as a child, and that drive my mind to the famous temple at Guruvayuor in Kerala . Accordingly Appaji has also given the MSG and bhajan in Malayalam language. Puttuji, you have also given a nice explanation about Krishna with Pandavas and Kouravas. From this we can realize if you have a company with good people or souls, you are sure about the success in your life. In otherwords if you are in such company, you follow a Dharmic path also which lead to permanent happiness—MMS12. Here I also remember Appaji’s words saying that, you must always have an association with good people and develop your sathsang and that will be only permanent and gives happiness in this kaiyuga .Naturally that will help us to follow the spiritual path also. Therefore Appaji we are so fortunate to get you as our Sadguru and in your company, we are very safe and through your teachings, we can develop a clean and healthy mind which will help us to have a perfect health. In close association with the Guru, your ego will get hurt from time to time. You will find it very difficult.Only such devotees who are prepared to sacrifice their ego, will be able to stay with the Guru and their redemption is sure. It is like a bank. It keeps your merits in the fixed deposit and yields interest.
I remember this story by Appaji (kind courtesy: Auntiji)
One ascetic had a disciple who came to him daily and would run away before the speech. The Guru told him to stay, listen and go. But he would say, my wife and family members are waiting and go away.The guru said take this Tulasi leaf. Go home, eat it and go to sleep. He did and he died at once.
The guru went to the man who died and asked why he died. NO answer. He told the family members, “You are all crying. If one amongst you is willing to give up your life, I will bring this man back to life.” All simply ran away.The man who had eaten the Tulasi leaf was listening and the Guru told him to get up. The man at once Said “Guru,I will leave them this minute. Please rescue me from these selfish,unloving people.”

Association plays a vital role on our thoughts, if its good it results good thoughts and if association is bad it’s obvious that thoughts will be in wrong direction. Human has duality in his mind, depending on the association the predominance of the nature either good or bad depending on association. One should always be aware of their companionship for its effects on our thoughts and action. Surely, association of noble souls is real wealth indeed. May Lord bless us all with association of noble souls.

One of the earlier MMS says “ego is the worst kind of evil and association with the pious eliminates that” and today’s MMS once again reiterates that. When we intimately with the eminent and distinguished persons, baser thoughts and instincts will be purged from our hearts which then automatically open to the inflow of God’s grace. Jaya Guru Datta! Yes, Puttuji, Arjuna’s choice illustrates that association with noble souls is the real wealth. I know that the nature of my happiness has changed due to Swamiji. I was usually a happy kid growing up, but now my happiness seems more real and it seems more unbreakable. I can see that it’s not the millions of dollars or plush houses or fancy cars that will give me lasting happiness, but this happiness that the Sathguru is teaching us. Association with noble souls keeps us honest and it’s this association that leads to peace of mind and contentment regardless of the nature of externalities or adversities. Association with Sri Swamiji is all that is needed in the journey of this soul. With Sri Swamiji’s grace, may the mind slowly start seeking nothing but this association. Pranams at the Holy Lotus Feet!
