Faith is when a little child holds her mother’s hand and crosses the road without seeing left and right. Faith is when we learn a language at pre nursery school without asking ‘how will it help me to learn this language?’. Faith is to drive your car on a dark night, even when you can’t see more than 100 meters ahead with your headlights. Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase. Faith is not belief without proof, but trust without reservation.
Faith is that bone deep belief in that one thing.. that will then move everything for you. It helps align all your mental energy towards achieving the task at hand. Like how the diffused rays of the sun when passed through a lens become a powerful force that can burn a paper; like how the slow flowing river acquires the massive strength to move a giant turbine, when harnessed by a dam; faith helps harness your energy towards achieving success in you chosen endeavor.
Without faith, you will never be able to drive fast in the dark night. Your doubt will prevent you from accelerating with confidence. Without faith in her mother, a child will never grow up. She will always keep rejecting whatever her mother giver her to eat. She may never learn to cross a road. Without faith, you will never learn swimming, or even cycling. What progress will we ever make without faith ? Nothing.
Similarly in the spiritual path, you need unquestioned faith in the Sathguru, if you have to make progress. You receive small small instructions to do japa, bhajan, yoga… all infant steps in the journey towards realizing your own true divinity. If you keep questioning “what is in it or me” every step of the way; If you keep doubting “ Are you sure this will work?”.. chances are you will never get started. And, yes.. instructions given to you may be very different from instructions given to another disciple. If you start asking “Why is He giving different instructions like this?” You will never begin practice.
That is why our Appaji declared several decades ago – “Follow the Master. Faith in God. Fight till the end. Finish the game”. Yes, Appaji ! You are the powerful force that activates us. We will follow your command, with the same faith that Hanuman had in Ram. We all know how much Hanuman accomplished because of that faith. So will we. We are fortunate to have found our Ram in you, your Holiness! We are fortunate!

Jaya Guru Datta, Swamiji, Faith is such a powerful thing. An elderly friend of mine who has since transitioned , was a very spiritual woman. One day, a group of us were on an outing together. One of the group members was complaining endlessly about a situation in her life to this sweet lady. My friend was very patient in listening to her and finally asked her if she had faith in God. The woman answered that she did. Then she asked her if she believed that God was everywhere and knew everything, and the woman replied that she did. Then my friend calmly and lovingly replied, “well then God must know about this situation and must have created it for a reason. For whatever purpose, God wants you to experience this right now, perhaps you have to have faith that this is the right thing to be happening now and ask God to show what you need to be doing.” The woman fell silent. As you have been teaching us, all of our reactions create our reality and God does answer all prayers with “So Be It.” God answers those prayers in God’s own time. We don’t always get want we want in the present moment, but we do get what we need. Having faith that God is giving us just what is right for us right now isn’t always easy, but if we surrender those fears and trust, faith will carry us through. THank you Swamiji for being the powerful force in our lives. The story of King Kartaveeryaarjuna and King Dharmakeerti from Datta Darshanam come to my mind when I think of this message. THe story of former is about unflinching faith in Guru and later is about how one can loose faith in the world even after having darshan of Datta.
King Kartaverryaarjuna had unflinching faith in the Guru. His obedience to guru and devotion are exemplary. Though he lived in the world for more than 10,000 years he lived with unflinching Guru Bhakti. He always remembered that all his powers, knowledge and wealth are derived from Datta. He followed the life of Dharma and eventually attained salvation by the grace of Datta.
King Dharmakeerti had the darshan of Datta and also received instructions about Dharma from the lord himself. In the begining he followed the teachings but as he was surrounded by hypocrites and atheists he lost faith in the teachings of the lord and followed adharma. At the time of death he repented for his deeds and Datta made him fast on Ekadashi day and listen to glories of the lord uplifting him to higher next birth. Such is the compassion of Datta.
These stories teach us how to live and how not to live. Let us all try to be like King Kartaveeryaarjuna and live in the world with Guru Bhakti and doing Guru Seva. As one mahatma said – Why did we come here? To know about our Guru or to collect wood for our funeral pyre? Everything that we accumulate in this world that do not help us in knowing Guru and Gutu Tatvam are like collecting wood for our funeral pyre. We are all in the process of developing 100% faith in Guru or God. Till we have full faith it is like a working capital for us. It can increase or decrease. By being in satsang and following Guru we can develop that unflinching faith.

Faith is deliberate confidence in the character of God whose ways we may not understand at the time. Our God is our Sadguru .. Whatever happens in our lifetime and beyond is all in Sadguru ‘s hands .. With that thought , we would not question ourselves at various instances as to why we are having to confront difficulties which we never anticipated to come by our way.. Faith in Sadguru is our security and a source of peace to us ,after all ,the mms clearly reveals that Sadguru is abhayaprada…Fear can keep us up all night long, but faith makes one fine pillow!!
But when it comes to other relationships we must lend our faith in the hands of those who care for us .. Blind faith, no matter how passionately expressed, will not suffice. Conscience will test relentlessly every assumption about the condition.. Jgd

Thanks dear Appaji, for this nourishing mms! Often we hold on one path which seems to be a closed way, without seeing that another door to another path has opened. Faith gives us such a strength to keep on trying our best, to keep on hoping, loving, giving. Faith gives us the strength and courage to dive deeper to the roots in order to grow higher. It is like a wonder: today it was my big subjekt to have faith, and now I open Puttu GAm and just now there is written about faith. The last days I had so much problems which made me fear. It was a difficult time. It was clear: only with faith I get back my inner silence. It was really a fight in me to go 100% in the faith. Then suddenly It got calm in me, I was in the faith. From this moment on I could again think clearly and go into a good action. I am happy that Swamiji has a lot of patient with us. Again and again I must work, that I can go into faith. Everytime I think: next time you make it better! But then the problems seem so big, that it is already difficult to go into faith.
JAYA GURU DATTA! I hope I got sufficient situations to overcome my fears by faith in Appaji! Throug such tests HE always proofed HIS help. He has a plan for us. He reveals His plans step by step. He teaches us to keep that unwavering faith within, to walk with that blind faith.
I have been at the receiving end of His plans cause He taught me to keep my faith. I have always found a power within me to do things that seemed so impossible. I have always dscovered that I have the intellect, the patience, the time and the interest to execute a task that seemed so undoable at the first look of it. Yes Appaji, FAITH MOVES MOUNTAINS!!
How did it work so perfectly? Follow the master without a doubt. Keep that Faith, Fight till the end and Finish the game. Believing that “He is the giver and He knows to what to give and when to give” has always helped me gather all the strength and confidence to start something successfully and finish it seamlessly.
Reminds me of Swami Kalikamba’s renidition of Follow the Master, Sachichidananda is the only Mantra. JGD Appaji!!

Faith isn’t something which should come and go. One has to cultivate faith as a strong means to live with. When this faith is built up it has an enormous power to activate us and then it refreshes itself like shown in the video with the waterfalls. This waterfall has already great power just by watching it, it gives me pleasure to move. Just imagine which power it gives one standing underneath it. I would be lost without this God given gift. A very beautiful video with the sunrays coming from the northeast and the flowerpetals rising in the southwest. And of course what would this film be without our beloved Swamiji-Datta? I like this video very much again.

ten years ago an inner voice called me to go to a Kriya Yoga course of Sri Swamiji in Hasliberg and to listen to such a strange music in Lucerne. From then onwards I got the confidence, the faith in Him, a faith which made me do things which I never did before, like chanting mantras, going to and doing Puja, translating His speeches into german and so on. The small kid laughs out loud when it was thrown up in the air by the mom – that is with the faith that it will be caught carefully by the mom. Faith, really activates us in all the situations. honestly, i learnt my lessons of faith from some of the earlier devotees of Appaji. I used to think to myself that so much faith put on even a chair/ a leg of a chair/any object would yield the same results as those devotees have put in Appaji. Really, they were my starting and startling lessons of faith from those devotees. I owe them a lot for this and that unquestioned faith Guru Deva, is showing its results in many devotees which stories are known to all of us. Namaste Puttuji, Thank You Puttuji for a nice video. Faith is a powerful force that activates us. Faith towards Sadguru in every move rejuvenates us everytime we get depressed as there are millions of causes to depress us. Not only rejuvenating from particular depression but faith towards Sadguru and His grace does not let us get depressed for the same reason again. So, a day will come when any type of cause cannot depress us. But faith towards Sadguru is attained and maintained only by His grace. Thank You and Namaste Puttuji.
Diese Erfahrung können wir tagtäglich machen. Wenn ich zaudere und zögerlich bin, zweifle, kein Vertrauen habe, werde ich sehr schnell müde. Umgekehrt, wenn ich glauben kann an das Göttliche, IHM/IHR vertraue, bin ich motiviert und habe die nötige Kraft, das zu tun, worum es geht.
