In a dense garden, plants & weeds grow a plenty. Weeds grow inside dark bushes too.. but, can’t hide from the eyes of a vigilant gardener. He spots & removes them, keeping the garden clean
Good & bad thoughts keep flowing through the mind. Weeding out bad thoughts, requires spotting them in the inner darkness. That requires help from Guha– The in-dweller. He is too good at seeing through the darkness in the mind & destroying the weeds there
When the mind is clean, it is fertile ground for Saraswathi to stay in and enlighten. On the contrary when it gets deluded by egoistic desire it invites painful intervention from Trivikrama. It’s our choice whom to invite

Jaya Guru Datta, Swamiji,You have given us so many ways to clean our minds–mantras, bhajans, Kriya Yoga, prayers—but how do we use them? You once told me to practice chanting mantras during the day at simple times, like when I am walking from one place to another or while standing in line somewhere. There are so many opportunities in our busy day to chant the mantras you have given us to cleanse and purify our minds. Help us increase our awareness of those moments and to not miss them. Let us use every available second we can to consciously follow this directive. Sri Guru Datta!
Dear Appaji, five days ago, YOU told us to keep the mind clean so that the light inside can shine clearly. Because we have so much difficulty in keeping our mind clean in spite of all YOUR teachings, YOU are repeating the lesson today. YOUR patience and compassion are so great. Washing your face every morning. In the same way you have to do regurlarly your puja or prayer in the morning. From there you get the energy and cleans your mind. You go inside yourself and from there yoi know what to do. This statement is important to do the right action.

According to me, now by seeing the various MMS of Appaji, we can understand how much importance, Appaji is giving to Mind. The mind has got a very important role to build up our carrier and life. For example aTeacher sharpens the mind of a student and where as a Sadguru opens our mind and show the way to serenity through the spiritual path. When we develop our spiritual path, naturally the unwanted desires cannot occupy in our mind and it will be clean. But in this kaiyuga most of the people are interested in worldly pleasures and side by side our desires also increase, which will pollute our mind and not only that which will lead to develop Ego also in our life. Due to this fact we will be dragged to do evil things. Therefore to get rid of from this and to keep our mind clean, we have to develop our spiritual path through our Sadguru, Whose words and teachings, we have to follow. Even the recent MMS 187 is more or less similar to this today,s MMS. Puttuji, you have also given a nice explanation about Lord Muruga andThrivikrama which is very apt to this MSG. Further the Bhajan Bhavaye sarswathi also shows the importance of Mother Goddess who can occupy in our mind provided if our mind is clean and in such circumstances our intellect will also increase and sharpen our mind. Therefore Appaji we got your concept and do our best to keep the mind clean through the spiritual path. JGD.

Sri Swamiji many times said, always keep your bowl(mind) clean, only then Sri Swamiji’s teachings can be imbibed. If the bowl(mind) is not clean, whatever is poured in it will be spoiled. With the blessings of Pujya Sri Swamiji we will always keep our mind clean.

What is meant by ” clean” ? When the “I” vanishes then there is no judgement about clean or unclean.
Everything else might produce a feeling of guilt. May Appaji give me the strength to focus the mind on the inner Self! Then there is no discrimination between this and that… Jaya veera hanuman.
This message reminds me of earlier one, MMS 187, that conveyed “The defects in the mind blur the light within”. True that pure mind gives only good thoughts and reminds me of MMS 188, “Good deeds should never be done with selfishness”. All these messages conveys strong message about the care to be taken about mind for sanctity of thoughts. Sri Swamiji has also conveyed the answer of how to keep it clean in MMS 191 that “Guru washes away the dirt from the heart”. Only God can protect us from getting diverted towards bad thoughts and only with His blessings can one lead life in righteous path. This message reminds me of how mother takes all pain to prepare various dishes with similar ingredients so that child would like it and consume by himself happily so that the child healthy. Similarly so many messages are being gifted to us to take it’s help and walk in path of righteousness. May lord help us all to have clean mind.
Jaya Guru Datta! Since this world is a projection of our mind, a clean mind keeps our world happy. A clean mind is a calm mind that also easily finds solutions. Thank You for the message Puttuji that a clean mind is the seat of Mother Saraswati. To keep our mind clean, we need to be constantly aware of the thoughts flowing through it. When we detect unwanted thoughts, we need to chant the mantra given by the Guru to weed it out. When bad or unwanted thoughts occupy our mind, they led us down the road of delusion, anger, stress etc wasting precious time. It takes constant effort to keep the mind clean. Our Sathguru, in the form of Mother Saraswati, the Goddess of Knowledge, will then bestow on us, the knowledge we need to swim through this ocean of samsara. Obeisances at the Holy Lotus Feet!
