In front of the radiant sun, neither the moon nor the fire fly will shine..Appaji reminds us of the Gayatri Japa.. All things that shine in this world must recognize with gratitude– the source of their brightness.. the Sun. When we see our brightness in a mirror, it is easy to get carried away thinking – I AM THE RADIANCE seen in the mirror. This is the maya of the ego. You may be as small as the fire fly, or as big as the moon.. how can you shine without BEING EMPOWERED by the sun ? This message is a clarion call for humility.. whatever one may achieve in life, his achievements pale in front of that supreme source that empowers such performance. We know that Supreme source to be our Sathguru. Pranams at your holy feet, our beloved Gurudeva. Please continue to empower our performance as you are the Sun that makes us the fire-flies shine, with your grace. Give us the strength and willingness to use that inner strength to be of use to your mission.
Fire-flies and the moon are not seen when the sun is shining. They depend on the Sun for their relevance. Similarly, we all need our Sathguru’s grace to be relevant and useful to the society we live in.

Great quote from the subhashita. This video very aptly draws a parallel between our Sadguru and the sun. Sun is the life force of our entire solar system and is the soul source of most of the light. Similarly everyone shines around Sri Swamiji with the radiance and brilliance given by Him. Even people with great spiritual knowledge or material wealth pale when they are next to our Datta Guru.
This video also serves as a great reminder to all disciples that – “Hey! you are shining because of Sadguru’s radiance just by reflecting it, otherwise you are just like a firefly. So, be humble and do not be egotistic. Always remember that it is because of Sadguru – I am what I am”. If you stray away from the path given by Sadguru, then you will lose all your brilliance.”

Beautiful song. ‘GURU’ is made up of two powerful words. ‘Gu’ means darkness and ‘Ru’ means light. Therefore Guru means the power which dispels darkness and brings light.
virtues come from good actions, treasures from the depths of the earth, and wisdom from a pure and peaceful mind,,to walk safely through this maze of life without loosing our way, we need the light of wisdom and the guidance of virtue which is reflected upon us by our sadguru..guru is a self luminous form ie the sun, whereas we are all like the meteors ( a hard mass with no lustre of its own) …

I just feel like watching this video again and again…… everytime i watch something strikes my mind.
Sun’s radiance is so powerful that nothing can go close to it, but moon which glows because of Sun gives nourishment to all the beings, likewise HH Pujya Guru Deva’s true form no one can understand(off course HH is Lord Datta hmself), but HH blessings, teachings, love and care are always on us. Our DATTA GURU gives us more than thousand times of Sun light which is remove our ignorance, and to know the knowledge, awareness of life beyond the life of the world. It is knowledge of the Atma, knowledge of why one comes to the Earth, what one has to learn, and how one has to learn it. It is the knowledge that although an Earth life may be a terrible, terrible experience, yet it is just the twinkling of an eye in the time of the Greater Life.

Dear Datta, in the darkness of night, the moon is our greatest – and sometimes – only light.
We appreciate this light as the most brilliant, because we don`t know better.
But it`s only the reflection of the sun.
Moon thinks “I am the light”, Firefly thinks “I transport the light”, but without the sun nothing will glow.This is a great truth. I`m moved, watching the fireflies flying so busy, full of enthusiasm.
What makes them so happy? They feel “We are part of life, small sparks, but sparks anyway.”
And the comet, bringing light to our dark earth … How lucky we are !
Unfortunately there are so many dark stones moving around Mother Earth …

‘yadbhasedam jagatbhati’…..sloka from anaghapuja says that ‘In whose light the world can be seen but who cannot be seen, to that couple I show the deepa for the tattva deepa to be lit in me. yadajnaya vati ravih prabhati are words from our ashram prayer. unnadi okade shivudega song says that innerlight, external light everything is one. so I feel that the only one “tamekadevam” takes so many forms, radiates in so many ways big or small.Let Guru the biggest Light give us the jnanajyoti to understand all such ways of only one light.

Parama Pujya Appaji is the SUN and the guiding light and illuminating radiance. There were many experiences that His compassionate blessings changed the way or made some of his devotees shine and excel in thier respective fields. May we all learn to be humble and be ever grateful to the benevolent, life-giving radiance of the living SUN.

The sun/Sungod, most essential for any kind of life, has no preferences where to spread it’s light. Spreading energy, light…. is just it’s nature. Likewise, serving the universe, uplifting all the creatures with his unending love is Sadguru’s nature.
For me this video amongst other expresses, that when need arises, a godly omnipotent incarnation descends to save and uplift us (meteorits moving dangerously in rather chaotic manner in the all, Swamiji preventing a dangerous hit, transforming the “rock” to a lightstream, in which he descends to earth).
In addition this video expresses clearly that we are nothing without the guidance of the source, the Omnipresent, Omnipotent (shown in the sun/Sungod), that the fruits of our actions don’t belong to us – as if this MMS is remembering and calling us: “Realise this ! Be humble ! Don’t show up with your “success”! ”
Swamiji is shown here with Apana mudra, which in Kriya Yoga has purifying effect, brings toxins out of the body, what releases again more energy – better development. In higher level: Swamiji helping and inspiring us to let go the unneeded past, to free attachments, poisonous thought fixations – which again bind us in a low way…
As little as I may grasp the meaning of the lyrics, the very beautiful bhajan “Guru Ek Deep Hai” shows the beginning- and endless Sadguru (Brahma – also the picture of the again and again incarnating Dattatreya, who’s name means also GIFT). The melody expresses that also we somewhere deep in ourselves feel a deerp longing for such a guidance.
