  1. {Nanjunda: Lord Shiva. One who drank (unda) the poison (nanju)}
When Sage Durvasa cursed Indra & the Devas, they lost all their energy. The Asuras started winning over them. Following Vishnu’s advice, the Devas decided to churn the Ocean of milk, alongwith the Asuras. For that Samudra mathan (churning), they used Mount Mandara as the shaft and Serpent Vasuki as the rope
What they wanted was an elixir of immortality, but what came out first was deadly poison. When the desperate Devas went to Vishnu, he asked them to go to Lord Shiva for help. Shiva in his compassion decided to swallow the poison. Parvati chocked his throat, ensuring the poison remained in his throat, turning it blue
    Pranams Sathguru!
Even the Devas had to handle the poison first before they got the nectar from the ocean. That poison was their stepping stone to the nectar. So too, we’ll not be daunted by failures, as they are our stepping stones to success
    Jaya Guru Datta. Your Puttuji

When I make failures, I feel ashamed. But this is a pitty, because failures aren’t bad, they are a part of a learning process. Unfortunately I have learnt in my childhood, that failures are bad. Today in our scools teacher go an other way. Failers are ok and we should learn from it. I try to handle it also like this, but it isn’t easy.

    Jaya Guru Datta
What happened until we, as children, were successful in walking? We fell down, got up, tried again, fell down again, got up again etc. And one day we were not only able to walk, but even to run and jump! A child does not care about failing many times before he/she is successful in walking.
As adults, we often get disappointed after a failure, but on the other hand we are fortunate to have the ability of analysing the happenings, learning out of them and then proceeding differently in order to reach success. If we act carefully and righteously success will come without having to fall down many times.
Mom helps her child to get up and try again. In the same way, GURU helps HIS disciple to accept the failure, correct him-/herself and continue towards success. Real success is when we act in a selfless way and reach a goal that consists in good deeds. We need failures for the purification of our ego. Our last and greatest success will be to merge with GOD. We are so fortunate that YOU are guiding us with so much compassion towards this ultimate goal, dear SADGURU! Thank you thousand times!
    Sri Guru Datta

To day , Appaji has given a nice advice as how to get success in our life. Puttuji , you have given a good explanation about Indira and Devas and how they have succeed to get the nectar finale. Here I remember Appaji’s words saying that , when ever we request Appaji to get our anything to be fulfilled , sometime His answer will be You Try and you will get it. Here the word TRY has got an important value. That is Appaji wants us to make an earnest attempt / effort to get it or to succeed depend upon the situation or our request. Here indirectly He is testing you and finale by His blessing , we will succeed. In this connection , I have got my own experience in 1982. , when Appaji’s usual visit to Cochin. During this occasion in one of the evening sathsang, Appaji told me why can’t you sing Bhajan . He further said that if you Try , you can sing. In otherwords if I try , I can succeed in it and that is real inner meaning for that. From that day onwards , I was earnestly trying for that by getting Bhajan cassette from our Ashram and listening to it regularly and finale we have printed the first Malayalam Bhajana Mala and started singing Appaji’s Bhajans. Now also at this age of 72 , by Appaji’s blessings Iam still singing the Bhajans. From this we should realize that when ever Appaji says You Try means , you will succeed, provided we should also earnestly attempt for that to full fill the same. In this Kaliyuga , we see our Appaji in the form of Lord Siva, by His blessings, we can succeed in our life provided we should also follow His words and teachings. The Bhajan also is very apt for this MSG , since Lord Siva also Nanjunda. From this MSG we should realize when ever we get a failure in our life don’t get upset and again you try , by His blessings you will succeed.
    JGD.

Jaya Guru Datta. Wonderful video and a grand message. The video has taken us to the Kilasa with the appropriate glaciers – the failures challenge a person to spring back up and accomplish success. Sadguru’s grace added – there is nothing that we cannot learn from. Thanks a lot Appaji

Jaya Guru Datta! Most of us may have heard this message at some point in our lives, yet today, it feels very real because it comes from our Sathguru. With sincere efforts, failures give us the knowledge we need to succeed. Failures teach us what we lack. Every successful person must’ve failed at least once in his life. In our spiritual endeavors, we may fail to keep a vow or promise we make to ourselves. But, when we analyze the reason for our failure and avoid the pitfalls, we would have defined for ourselves an approach to successfully keep that vow or promise in the future. May be we failed to keep our mind filled with noble positive thoughts all day, but the reason was perhaps an overdose of daily news or commercial entertainment or unnecessary conversations. Failure is a tough teacher as long as we are willing to learn. Obeisances at the Holy Lotus Feet!

When we start working selflessly then failure or success does not matter. We have to learn to work by offering all the results to You. That will not bind us to any result, but will move us a step closer to You!

jayagurudatta ,puttuji , sashtangapranams at lotus feet of poojya swamiji , we can observe in our life, failure is not disqualification, if we attempt it sincere dedication definitly sucsess is there, om namo hanumathenamhaa

  3. Ah failure… wo was it that failed so much? yesm the creator of the light bulb, Ediaso, thomas edison a supposed ancestor of mine !
Because of this statemnt i do not let my EGO taunt me so much with a failure, which happens in ones quest to succeed! It happerns invariably because quite frankly, it is hard to succeed! But, therecomes a time when all the failures mount up, as if on the crest of the serpents hood, and lo and behold you succeed! I think the Unverse, sees all the goings on and at one point gives her all to mount up and support you and GIVE you all athat is needed for success! the urge here is to keep on trying and never gie up! JGD!
