  1. Competition between Ganesha & Skanda.. He who first goes around the world thrice wins the Fruit of Knowledge (Mango). Aggressive Skanda flies off in his peacock. Calm Ganesha thinks & asks his parents: “Is it true that one’s parents are one’s world?” His parents agree. So, he walks around them thrice, wins their hearts & takes away the prize. Lots of intelligence. Few words. Right speech. Right action.

You’ve revealed the secret of your infinite energy! You speak less. Your smile & eyes say more. When you choose to say a few words, they’re precise.. “Ah! That’s what I wanted to hear, but didn’t know how to ask”.. kind of feel

Thank you for sharing your learning from Jayalakshmi Mata.. to focus on the Muladhara Chakra – the seat of Ganesha.. Lord of Obstacles, Speech & Intelligence. We’ll follow you by winning over our desire (mouse) to keep talking. We’ll speak only if it benefits the listener. Your Puttuji

JGD. Appaji”s teachings always appear simple, though they are packed with many meaningful sentences. The short MMS in Telugu speaks volumes. It is Appaji”s way of not taxing the minds devotees with hard sounding quotations. What ever Appaji wants to communicate to the seeker,He tells in A sentence or a short keertana. The word that comes out from APpaji is Healing.

Jaya Guru Datta! Once, at a point in my life when I was feeling very frightened and stressed and chattering like a magpie from nervousness to the consternation of all around me, Sri Swamiji asked me to keep silent for nine days. It was a great blessing! During that time, I learned how little we have to say to others that actually matters. I was able to relax and to find a serenity I had lost. At the end of the nine days, I felt deeply refreshed. I have always been grateful for that lesson and am grateful today for the reminder…Sri Guru Datta!

Jaya Guru Datta! The core of this message seems to be about being calm. Keeping a calm mind regardless of the external circumstances will not only help us say the right things at the right time, but will bolster our spiritual progress. A calm and peaceful mind finds the solutions, said an MMS. A prerequisite for a consistently good orator seems to be a calm mind where he/she can collect all the thoughts and deliver it succinctly. Such a calm mind also seems a fertile ground for Sri Swamiji’s presence. So, by removing desires, distractions and agitations from the mind, we nurture a healthy mind (and therefore good oratory skills) and support a health body that is essential for our spiritual progress. Many devotees rely on Pranayam and Meditation for at least 10 minutes a day to keep their mind throughout the day. Obeisance to the Holy Lotus Feet that is the source of all our knowledge.

What was taught to us in School comes back like a flash- Slience is Golden. Oh Lord Ganapati let me be victorious in this aspiration to speak effectively with few words.Let nothing force me to lose my calmness which is our true nature.Let this calmness heal me. Let me accept all things as it is as changes in my body n mind are a natural process. Let my soul be just the witness and mind not make any judgement. Oh Guru Datta let me proceed from this body to Light../Guruve Sharanam – Jaya Ganapathi Mangalakari./

    Jaya Guru Datta,
my children and I just watched this mms. What is happening? The mother is mad at the boy. This little guy seems not very much irritated about the anger of the mother. He is thinking “calm” and thinking of Swamiji. It is sad that the mother is not thinking “calm” and thinking of Swamiji. Where did the boy learn about this (he seems to be a little buddha).

The boy also stays calm when his sister is teasing him. He just smilies. And when he finally hurts himself he is able to calm himself again by thinking of Swamiji. What a lucky soul this little guy!

In my day to day life with my two children I found myself often in the position to say NO. I have to say NO a hundred times a day and stop them from doing what there about to do. Also I get mad when they are teasing each other. To be a mother can be sometimes tiring. There are moments, where I think I am a terrible mother.

It is true: the ones who managed to win the hearts of the children are very lucky. Sometimes I can see that my words do reach my children and than I am happy. Dear Swamiji, dear Ganapati may I stay calm with the challenges the children give to me. They are a mirror of myself.

Thanks to Appaji for this amazing video. Sadguru as Jayalakshmi Mata is taking us all the way up to Sahasrara Cakra. Jaya Guru Datta. Dearest Mother Sri Swamiji, You didn’t even need words to capture my heart. You truly are a silent teacher. What can I say other than I love you? I love you, I love you, I love you. Sri Guru Datta

    • on November 20, 2012 at 3:48 pm

Personality development kind of an MMS. Using the right words at the right time and silence make a good recipe for oratory skills. Not just speaking, Appaji in this MMS is also asking us to listen, to listen with heart. Most times, most situations need to be listened to, so that they are absorbed correctly. This establishes a connect so that we reciprocate with right words at the right time (sometimes just listening is miraculous in its own way). Appaji, you are a corporate guru as well. I know for a fact that what I write here is also what you want me to understand for myself, for my upliftment. Thank you for both subtle and obvious cues. Pranams and lots of love. Jaya Gurudeva Datta.

Jaya Guru Datta – wonderful advice. This reminds me of the description of Lord Hanuman when He first met Sri Rama in Kishkindha Kanda. There is so much that Sage Valmiki has written about Hanuman as to how effective and great orator he is. Appaji has mentioned all that in one bhajan – shabdamaya, shastra maya… Thank You Appaji

In today’s MMS, the photography and the music are so apt for the MSG since showing the beautiful Lord Ganesa with the Bhajan( Jai.. Jai Ganapathy) are so nice and giving soothing effect. Here Puttuji you have commented about three items naimly ( Few words, Right speech, and Right action.) Incidentely I remember here, when you travel in a train, we can notice there is a display in the compartment saying that( less luggage more comfort) . Similarly here less talk with right action and useing your intellengence will give good result when ever we do anything and ultimately which will lead to success in our life. Appaji you have opened our eyes through this MMS. Not only that you have shown to us all examples like How to speak, How to act, How to use words and How to use our intellect. Accordingly we will overcome our unwanted desires by controlling our mind through your teachings, such as Talk only less using good words which will be benefitted for the listeners  and more over what ever any action to be taken in our life which will be in the Right way only, useing our intellect in the proper way for which we seek your blessings also. Appaji we see all these qualities in You and You are the good Orator which will be useful for us to develop our spiritual path.    JGD.

be calm in all circumstances … sometimes I feel how sri swamijis is training me (us) to develop calm and inner peace. I understand from this amazing video that be calm helps in all life’s situations and that – beholding our beloved sadguru in mind – be calm leads to the highest goal: a buddha-mind and enlightenment in sri jayalakshmi mata and You. may I be able to undergo Your training patiently and joyfully also in times when it seems difficult.

    Good orator ~ 20 Nov 2012

When words spoken are genuine and few, they touch the hearts of people. They have maximum impact. This is exactly how Appaji speaks! Few words, one smile – can make our hearts blossom with joy and make us forget all our troubles.Words should be precise and when the thoughts and words are in sync, it always has the right impact. We must speak sweet words and not hurt anyone in speech. That why it is said – ‘Silence is Golden’! May Lord Ganapati bless us with the intellect to use speech wisely! Jaya Guru Datta!
