Jaya Guru Datta! This is the greatness of Sadgurudeva Sri Swamiji that He is a messenger of universal divinity, attracting people from different faiths. The universal prayer hall at ashrama is not only beautiful but also uniting. At home in the West, this sometimes helps me when talking to critical persons. The openness reduces the fears of people who are not familiar wih Appaji. I admire Appaji’s efforts to bring together various religions, inviting e.g. Muslims, Sikhs etc. to ashrama and honouring their faith. This is true universal brotherhood. And how wonderful are His creations in music. Thousands of bhajans, kirtans etc. with a deep meaning and powerful. I’m very happy that Appaji is a Nada Yogi. I almost only listen to His music, for years now. Most of the times, I don’t want to listen to anything else. Sri Guru Datta!

Jaya Guru Datta! This weekend I have been staying with some devotees away from my home. In their puja room, they are playing Shata Shloki and other Swamiji CDs continuously. The room where I have been sleeping is right next to the puja room and I can hear the CDs. This has been very comforting and last night I was resting in bed enjoying listening to Sri Swamiji’s OM CD as it played in the puja room. At least that’s what I thought. Today, at our event, we were selling Swamiji’s CDs. My hostess was telling someone she had just bought the CD yesterday, but hadn’t heard it yet. I was very puzzled, because I knew I had been hearing it in my room. I asked her about it and she assured me she had never heard the OM CD! What to think? When we came home they double checked the iPod to see if by chance the OM CD was there. But it wasn’t. Was Swamiji with us chanting OM in their prayer room? I hope so….Only Swamiji can blend the mundane and the secular in this way… Sri Guru Datta!
Appaji has always given paramount importance to Namasankeerthanam. The energy we get from listening to Appaji or by singing in our own Ashram keeps us going.
Jaya Guru Datta! Sri Swamiji is one the biggest advocates of all time for Namasankeertan. The ending mantra “Om Namah Sivaya” reminded me of the fact that our Sathguru is none other than Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is always immersed in meditation. Yet, He is present everywhere in every atom and is always watching over every being. Our Sathguru is lovingly teaching us Namasankeertan so that we can eventually get to the state where we are immersed in divinity like Lord Shiva is.
MMS # 222 says that praising God in song leads of meditation and knowledge. Meditation and knowledge are part of every religion. So, Namasankeertan is secular. We can sing any bhajan, it will only increase our love for God. When I sang Catholic hymns in the convent I went to (when I was growing up), it left the impression that God was great, there was nothing Hindu or Christian about that God. Sri Swamiji’s Namasankeertan attracts people of all religions and faiths, because God really is one and He speaks through our Sathgurudeva. That experience of “One God” has been gaining more strength over the years due to association with Sri Swamiji. Obeisances at the Holy Lotus Feet!
Praising the God in the form of Namasangeerthana itself leads to great devotion. But here our Appaji’s Bhajans are quite peculiar and it is not possible it classify it as anything. When we say about Bhajan , there are lot of different types are there in the world. To my knowledge , I have heard different type of Bhajans. But our Appaji’s Bhajans are very different from others . This is because each Bhajan contains the seed letter( beejakshra) which is very powerful and it helps to heal and cure the disease. Secondly these Bhajans are based on classical ragas only which will help us to get more concentration and can control our mind to a great extent. As myself involving in Bhajans , I have got a good experience on it . Even at tha age of 72 , due to Appaji’s blessings only , iam able to sing Bhajans regularly and He has told me to continue the same till my life is there. I feel when we sing Bhajans , it gives a good energy as wellas it is like a dialysis procedure means, feeling purifying our blood itself. Now day by day Appaji is refining the Bhajans and it has become a Yogasangeeta which help many people to heal their disease and getting mental peace. This isbecause Appaji himself is a NadaYogi and NadaBrahma. In this kaiyuga Namasangeerthana is the only easiest way to reach God which even Adi Shankara has also told and our Appaji is following the same method . That is why in today’ MMS , Appaji has told through Namasangeerthana , one can attain in spiritual permanently .Therefore Appaji we follow your words and teachings and develop Namasangeerthana for our benefit especially in this kaiyuga. Thephotography and the Bhajan are very apt for this MSG since both Lord hanuman and Siva are involved in this aspect will give us peace, blessing and protection. JGD.

Namasankirtana is very beautiful and it gives peace to the mind. Although my voice is not very melodious and nether I am talented in singing – around Swamiji I learned a little bit to follow the music and try to sing along. I lost my shyness of opening my mouth. I learned to be happy by doing Namasankirtana because it touches the heart. Swamiji’s Kirtans are incomparable!

Everything that our Sadgurudeva undertakes is a part of His novel Universal plan for uplifting devotees. Magnificent “Universal Prayer Hall” was built in the Avadhoota Datta Peetham in Mysore where people without any distinction of caste, religion, race, or gender can come together under one roof to offer prayers. It is also “University Prayer Hall”.
This gesture reveals how Sri Swamiji treats everyone as equal. One example is the prayer that is rendered for the past three decades daily in unison by thousands of voices in the Universal Prayer Hall is called “Universal Prayer”. This prayer/namasankeertan transcends selfishness.It rises above distinctions. It goes beyond the categories of caste, religion, race, gender, and color. This is offered for the welfare of the world.The oneness of God is presented in these nine verses.
When oneness is realized, a broader mental outlook develops. Broad mindedness helps society. Appaji has blessed us with numerous Bhajans,SSR, Hanuman Mantra and the list goes on ……..
