  1. Gam Gam Ganapathi – sets the happy mood for the day!
Maha Ganapathy is reclining in happiness. The trees in that rainforest are having a great time. So are the dancing sunflower plants. The little deer seems enjoying himself too!
Happiness is the inherent nature of every entity in Mother Nature’s creation. Except Man.. who is the crowning glory of all creation. Isn’t that very sad?
Every entity in Nature has no choice but to live its dharma. No questions to ask. No choices to make. No chance to sin. Sunflowers bloom facing the sun. This process is on auto mode. Pre-programmed. The plant just lives its true nature. Happiness.
Man has been endowed with the power of discrimination. He can choose.. to follow his dharma, or to sin. And he has to face the consequences of that choice.
    Pranams Gurudeva!
We’re happy to know that our grief is the result of our sin. We choose to follow you.. on the righteous path, and be happy. Jaya Guru Datta. Your Puttuji

Jaya Guru Datta! Despite the serious nature of sin, Sri Swamiji keeps this message light hearted and hopeful, not rooting us in guilt and shame, but instead reminding us that we are responsible for our own actions. Each day is a new beginning. We can always make restitution, say I’m sorry and begin anew with a fresh start. Since it’s all in our hands to change, the future can be bright…it’s up to us to accept the happiness that is ours or not. Just believe that is true! Sri Guru Datta!

    Dear Swami AVADHOOTA
Today YOU gave us a great tip, live on Yoga Sangeeta, to handle our grief: “offer the rites and be happy”. Again and again YOU help us but why we can’t offer the pain and grief for ever, what is there inside of us, to hold this things and play this game again and again…
Sri Guru Datta and lots of love
    OM Namo Hanumate Namaha

    Jaya Guru Datta,
if I got the blues – I might be tempted to think that something happened to me that should not have. It can happen that I might even feel like a victim. I am not a victim – I myself created the trouble by doing a sinful act. In this case I am the perpetrator.

    OM GAM GANAPATI NAMAHA
    Sri Guru Datta

  3. The deer here reminds us of King Bharata and the plants of gandharva. Jaya Guru Datta. Sri Guru Datta.

Thank You so much, Lord Ganapati!
Reading these lines I feel cheerful and light
To be responsible for my own actions
and not for other peoples grief brings enormous relief!

Jaya Guru Datta Appaji – the grief is the result of sinful activities. In today’s Venkateswara Kalyana discourse, Appaji has comprehensively dealt with this subject and it is a very appropriate elaboration of today’s MMS. After listening to that all the devotees will be out of grief just by remembering the happy occassions, moments and/or the divine smile of Sadgurudeva. Thank You Appaji

Jaya Guru Datta. These daily eternal truths represent the essence of all religious teachings. I thank Appaji for bringing these messages to us in such graphic and musical forms. The images of Sri Swamiji in a forest setting struck a loving note in my heart.

    • Archana Penukonda on January 29, 2013 at 3:39 pm

There’s no point asking oneself in the face of grief “Why me? Why do I have to go through this?” An earlier MMS said that every action has an associated reaction. My mother used to tell me whenever I bruised myself that I should think back to see what I may have done wrong. Our troubles in this life may come from this or any of our past lives, but the knowledge that bad thoughts and words are as sinful as bad actions gives us the understanding that keeping good thoughts in the mind will minimize the sins we commit. The maya that envelops this world is strong and the our sense organs are looking for every opportunity to be enslaved by this maya. Conquering these sense organs with the Sathguru’s grace will help us from committing sins. However, like Swamiji says, we should face every suffering – big or small – with a smile on the face and with happiness because when we suffer, we clear away our past sins (as noted in an earlier MMS). Obeisances at the Holy Lotus Feet!

Jaya Guru Datta! I believe it’s relieving to know that our happiness lies in our own hands. Appaji, please bless me with the strength to bear the results of whatever sins I have committed and also to bless me with the energy & will to follow dharma and do sadhana & seva. Sri Guru Datta! Om namo hanumate namah!

    JGD Appaji
We utter so many words harshly and rudely without realizing the pain we are causing to others and also future grief to ourselves. Every action we do will have a consequence. Rather than spreading pain lets try to spread happiness. Lets only give happiness and selfless service like the sunflowers and trees, like the rest of nature. Improving our nature and controlling our inner senses in only possible by Guru’s grace and our constant contemplation on HIs teachings.

Real Self is the only truth and that is my true nature beyond all. Pranaams and thanks to Sri Swami ji my Satguru onhn sgd

Jai Guru Datta, Appaji…thank You so much for blessing us with a translation in English of Vanara Gita, Episode 23 today, along with this MMS…You said today that we are born human, so naturally some deeds will not always be good…but when we offer all deeds, all fruits, good, or bad to Lord Hanuman, He can bless us with the fear of sin, and also with the love of God…and it is when we offer all that we do sincerely, we cease to be a bhakta…we become a Yogi, or Saint…again, Appaji…thank You so much for this explanation in English…these 4 very important sentences You point out for all mankind…we will follow…Sri Guru Datta…Om Namo Hanumante Namaha…Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti!

  4. Jaya Guru Datta. It is only through Sri Swamiji’s grace and teachings that we can come out of such grief and sin. Let me follow these teachings and truly learn from them. Every morning I wake up thinking of You and I know that You think of all of us because You so lovingly give us these MMS treasures. Grief stems from our sins and sins stem from ignorance. Only Sri Swamiji can dispel this darkness, this ignorance. You are our Light. I love you, I love you, I love you. Sri Guru Datta.

Through today’s MMS, Appaji is reminding us that what ever we do or commit any sin, which ultimately lead to our grief. The photography is very apt for this MSG. This is because Lord Ganapathy is lying down in a position of comfort which shows the happiness in Him. According to Ganapathy!s nature , He is very calm and have the good qualities of no ego, no jealous , and no pride . That is why even we do or perform any puja or homa , first we do for Lord Ganesa to get away from any obstacles and to get peace of mind and happiness . Naturally we will not dragon to commit any sin. Now with regards to nature in Mother’s creation all trees, plantsand planets are doingtheir duty as per dharma and have no other choice. But in the case of humanbeing , we can choose the good or bad as per your dharma since the God has given the Thinking power to us. It is up to us to take the right path so that our mind will not divert to commit any sin and thereby we will not have and grief also. From this we can realize our mind has got an important role in our life. Therefore we have to keep our mind always clean , develop noble thoughts, develop kindness , develop sathsang etc. By doing or practising like that the chances are very remote to commit any sin in our life which will lead to happiness and that is what we need ultimately . But again here to control our mind like that, we have to follow the spiritual path through the words and teachings of our Sadguru only. Therefore , Appaji we follow you in all respects and obey your instructions strictly. The Bhajan on Lord Ganapathy is also very apt for the MSG. JGD.

Jai Guru Datta, listening to your heartwarming divine voice singing the Bhajans definitely chases away my grief. I understand that it is my sin causing all the grief from time to time. yes, we are responsible, und to realize our responsability as a human being is so liberating. from this mms I can conclude that the increasing joy and inner happiness, the simple joy of being alive and living I experience – of course comes from our beloved sadguru – and is due to dimished bad karma. ANANDA is the true nature of the soul. may we be able live with You gratefully and in all humility.

A fine message that cautions us about the sins and the grief that results due to it. One of the earlier messages says that one reaps the results of one’s actions and has to face the consequences of those either in this Janma or the births that are going to come.God is impartial ,not responsible and cannot be blamed for our sufferings. In the succession of births one experiences the fruits of actions done in previous births and the process is continuous. Its only the Sadguru that can bring a transformation in our thoughts so that we commit either less sins or none.Bless us Swamiji so that we decide always the correct course of action in all our deeds.JGD

Nice audio visuals. Like Newton’s law states “every action has equal and opposite reaction” this law is explained to understand simple dynamics of any object. It is the same with our life. Doing deeds with bad Intension can never give pleasure, it can only result in grief. May lord bless us all to have the strength to bear our grief and give us the knowledge of not committing further sins.
