  1. {Ponder: To reflect or consider with thoroughness and care; To mull over}

We know what someone means when he says “Let me mull over it”. He is delaying a decision. Most of our life we are busy pondering. We like it

It is not that pondering is a bad habit. One must weigh options before making a decision. Haste makes waste. Too much analysis leads to paralysis. Further, it is easy to ponder upon the weather, the markets, the economy.. which we can do little to influence. When the monkey mind gets busy, it can waste a lot of time & energy. So, the need to reflect what to ponder upon

The moon reflects sunlight. That reflection enhances its beauty. The sea reflects moonlight. That reflection enhances the beauty of the sea.

    Thanks a ton, Sathgurudeva!

You’ve made our thought more productive. Learning from the moon & the sea, we’ll reflect in ways that enhance our inner beauty. Doing so will make us better people, doing you proud. Jaya Guru Datta, Your Puttuji

It is really a little wonder. When I open the videao, often there are words, which are just the right words for me for the present situation. Also today I pondered longtimes and now I must ask me: these thoughts: were they for improving myself? I think yes, but I want still reflect it.

Jaya Guru Datta. If I think deeply on this message i have to observe silence. so silence is mediation which was quoted already. when there are so many thinks to be taken care ,correction, rectification and implementation of so many things towards my enlistment, what is the use of talking others. so silence practice is golden .koti pranams to pujya sadgurudev. may your blessing strengthen my brain.

Timely reminder… Time is very precious, so why should anyone waste their time on unnecessary issues. Using our energy for improving ourselves will be amazing way of using our energy in a positive way. As first step of improving ourselves as mentioned in MMS 179, one should be loyal and true to ourself to analyse our mistakes and attempt to correct them to improve oneself. Wonderful message to be followed regularly. May lord bless us to give the interest and acceptance to ponder about ourselves to improve ourselves.

    • sridevi on November 27, 2012 at 10:51 am

Jai Guru Datta! Better not to ponder at all, it seems. But if we can’t do otherwise, at least ponder in a useful way. Only ourselves we may be able to change, so no use to think about anyone or anything else to change. Until we are capable to leave everything to HIM. Humble pranams

    • dariashakti on November 27, 2012 at 10:58 am

Jaya Guru Datta, Swamiji! So often you remind us that we need to release our attachments. So much personal suffering comes from attachment. Attachments aren’t always to physical things or to people or places, but to ideas about how things “should” be or how people “should” act. Help us look at those “shoulds” in our lives that we are holding onto so we can release our attachments and deal with our lives as they are instead of how we think they “should” be.. Thank you for reminding us again and again to trust our own hearts and to go inward. Thank you for these MMS that gives guideposts for how to do that…Sri Guru Datta!

    • Hira Duvvuri on November 27, 2012 at 12:12 pm

Yes, Sadgurudeva. It is high time that I begin pondering about how to improve myself. By your grace I am now able to identify the problem within. It is attachment to past associations. I pray for strength to correct it. Rightly you have advised earlier that fighting a problem does not solve it. Like the enemy Vali’s boon, it seems to strengthen my enemy within, the more I fight it. The mind must be removed from the problem areas, like a baby is taken away from fire, deep water, hazardous materials, or heavy traffic zones that could cause it harm. I pray that my mind be completely removed from any of the paths that would drag it back into the mire of attachments. I pray that it should be totally re-directed towards you and you alone.

Sometimes the term ‘going within’ is misleading. When I isolate myself and ponder, the thoughts that lead me astray into unhappiness are deep within me. They do not lie outside in the world. Fond memories and an yearning to re-live them is certainly something that is within me. It is not perceptible to the senses.

What I need to focus on and seek is not those, but you, who reside in the deepest core, beyond all of these obstructions and distractions.

    Jaya Guru Datta

    Jaya Guru Datta,
like the moon reflects the sunlight, my mind shall reflect the beauty of my Sadguru.
That reflection shall enhance my Self, so I can offer it to You.
Dear Swamiji, let me spend my time by improving. May I grow to a flower that is worth decorating You.
    Pranams,
    Sri Guru Datta

Ponder about improving yourself ~ 27 Nov 2012

How much time do we spend pondering over something each day? How much of it was really necessary? How much of this time actually sapped us off our energy? Do we realize that each day, we are whiling away time by apparently pondering over things that are useless? Our Sadguru gives us a warning call here. It is important to think things through – only as much as is needed. The more we keep brooding over past, or future, we miss out on the present. We do not learn anything in the process. Here, our Sadguru again guides us and calls for introspection, to understand our shortcomings and to improve on those. Let us all spend a couple of minutes each day to figure out what we can improve with in our selves. We will certainly turn out to be better individuals over a period of time. May Lord Datta, in the form of our Sadguru, forever guide us in this journey. Jaya Guru Datta!

Jaya Guru Datta! Dear Appaji, sometimes I’m desperate because of my monkey mind. So much over analysis… So much vata energy. Then, I even think too much about that. A vicious circle. I guess only calming my mind by engaging it in mantras & singing will help. Please bless me to do so! Sri Guru Datta

    Jaya Guru Datta
There is so much what we can improve about ourselves. Sri Swamiji is showing us every step in this wonderful process. One piece is self reflection. Here the aim is again completely positive: improvement. Which makes us better suited to serve the Divine Padas of Sadgurudeva.
This MMS is so beautiful. The black and white image of the shining moon and the dark powerful sea in contrast to the colorful Lord Dattatreya. Sri Swamiji explains to us this wonderful universe.

Thank You Swamiji for this message. It is applicable to all of us who are struggling up the ladder of spiritual development. Why waste precious time pondering over others and how they could change. When one points one finger at others three are pointing towards us. So then why do I not ponder upon improving myself. Very good and timely message.

Jai Gurudatta. Excellent Message from Sri Swamiji.

    • Kousalya Prabhahar on November 27, 2012 at 10:06 pm

JGD. When I saw this message today morning, i didn’t know what comment I can make on it, as it is already mentioned ponder on things to be improved.
But my day was not energetic, had negativity in my mind and felt very empty. i was not sure what is missing in my life though he has showered me everyhting I could ask for. So my mind automatically pondered over my thoughts and feelings quite deep to find out the reason for it. I was able to point out few mistakes at thought level i’m going through, but i was not able to get the root of it. One thing I was so sure, Appaji won’t be happy with my mental state (had lots of negativity). I have a habit of buying lots of books whenever i get a chance. One of the book called “enlightenment” which I recently bought from local temple was lying in front of me, which I opened and read few pages. That book gave me more clarity on what my mind was going through. Then I went to Puja room and started pray to Appaji to point me the reasons for my negative thoughts while I was praying certain things which happend in past flashed into my mind which was the root of this negativity. Still I’m not so sure how i should react for the incident which hurts me deep inside still. As I was not able to get clarity prayed him, as HE is my guru and I’m his student, its his responsibility to make me be on right path before i get lost into it.
In nutshell, look at your thoughts and actions and mental state, watch for it even at thought level we should not have any negativity especially hatredness, anger, arrogance, ego and anything that is considered as inner enemies. Try to analyse it and surrender them to Appaji for right guidance on a given situation.

    Jaya Guru Datta Puttuji,

Very nice MMS video message and beautiful explaination about it.
Yes, most of our time we ponder on things that do not add value, something like day dreaming. Aptly todays MMS message says to ponder over improving yourself. Thank you Appaji, we will put into practice and improve our inner beauty.

Yes, striving to find one’s self image and pondering on improving it helps a lot in day to day activities and the way we inculcate new habits. The mind is so uncontrollable that I always feel remembering you often is the only way the mind can be deflected away from its worldly attachments and make it think right about every situation we face in life. Nothing else matters after that as I feel the blissful dharma while thinking. Thanks and million million pranams Swamiji.

Jaya Guru Datta! It is only by examining ourselves that we can become better individuals. Sri Swamiji’s history is full of examples that point to this quality. Sri Swamiji constantly examined and tested Himself to see if He achieved the milestone He set for himself. Sri Swamiji often analyzed Himself to see if there were any unnecessary qualities lurking anywhere in Him. Of course, that analysis was to set an example to us humans. Nothing can touch or taint Datta Sathguru. But, Sri Swamiji’s life is His message. Whether in professional life or in our day-to-day lives, bridging the gap between what we are and what we desire to be can happen only by thinking about our behavior and examining ourselves honestly and critically. It would be wrong to think that our behavior is always right or that we are already the best we can be. Only an honest examination of our behavior will light up the right path ahead of us. Obeisances to the Holy Lotus Feet of Sri Swamiji!

To day’s MMS is more or less connecting to MMS 179. Puttuji you have also given a nice comment for this MSG. Here Appaji is reminding us that when ever we have to take a decision  for a good cause, we should not think about the same at length. In otherwords we have to take the decision immediately. Here I recollect Appaji’s speech on 25th November at Dallas. Here He was saying when ever  we have to take a decision for good cause, we should be like Perni Lakshmy ( give at once or do it immediately) other wise the mind will change in the next Minuit , like a monkey’s mind( waste lot of time and energy). From this we can understand the mind has got an important role in our life. Therefore we have to control and drive our mind for which we need our Sadguru , Whose words and teachings to follow and develop our spiritual path. If we practice like that, we can take a decision or an action in our life immediately  when ever it is needed. More over by developing  the spiritual path, in certain cases if we need a decision to be taken delayed for sometime, it will help us also and at the end the result will be successful  or in our favor as the case may be. The photography is very apt to the MSG and the music is also giving a soothing effect. Finally, Appaji, we got your concept and follow your words and teachings strictly.   JGD.

jgd ‘Jin khoja tin paayayaa geharey paani paith’ (the one who dives in deep water to search can only achieve). i remember a story; two painters (artists) were invited by a king to show the best of their art they were given a time limit and were supposed to draw on the walls facing each other in one room with a screen in between. The king’s minister came to inspect often, one of the artist was always on work with paints and brush in hand on the other side of the screen second artist was seen busy cleaning and shining the wall though minister was confused but could not ask any thing as still the time was not over. On the final day when the screen was removed the true painting was really beautiful but the opposite side (cleaned and polished) was more attractive because the reflection had more depth and brightness Swami ji i will improve pondering about my self to clean my antahakaran to have Lord Satguru’s in me as ‘SATCHITANANDA onhn sgd

Jai Guru Datta! It would be a difficult task figuring out how to mold one’s character if it were not for the example set by Sri Gurudeva and the Holy Mother. There are so many subtle and not-so-subtle road signs that glorify selfishness and incourage sensual gratification only. This is a backwards world and if it were not for Your Holiness there would be little hope… but Sri Datta came to us!!! Jayalaksmi Mata has gifted us with her life in story book fashion so as to provide the women and mothers of the world with a solid guide… a truly simple to read, multi lingual instruction manual on how to play our part. Thank You, Appaji! Thank You, Mataji!!! Sri Guru Datta!

JGD. May we develop the capability to second by second observe ourselves with a view to improving ourselves. JGD.

  3. Of all births human birth is valuable.GOD loves human beings much more than other creatures.Because man only has devine thinking power when compared with other animals.God gave birth to human beings to know them selves and merged with Him.But we are wasting our valueble time for futile infomation. So we must stop that bad habit and allot at least 20% of our available time to ponder about improving our self. The above MMS is very much useful to the present society.I am offering my pranams to PUTTU Gi.Like.
