  1. What do you remember better.. What you’ve read? What you’ve heard? Or, what you’ve sang ?
Say Baba black sheep.. Say Twinkle twinkle little star.. Sing Pahi Pahi Gajanana.. Now try recollecting the theory, formulae, geography or history you learnt in school. What is imprinted deeper in your psyche?
    Dear Shivaswaroopa Sathgurudeva,
We now realize why you’ve chosen to sing instead of just talk to us about whatever you wanted to teach us. How many deep philosophical truths, you’ve made us understand, because you’ve made us sing them!
Every bhajan of yours has condensed the essence of the Upanishads & Vedas. As we sing, we realize the music holds the mind in rapt attention. That is meditation. And as we reflect in our meditation, we realize the deeper truths of what we sing.. that is knowledge
Koti pranams at your lotus feet Sathguru, for having introduced us to your Nadopasana. We are practicing your teaching, for our own good
    Jaya Guru Datta. Your Puttuji

Jaya Guru Datta! Life is so much sweeter when one chants the mantras Sri Swamiji has given us or when we engage in satsang. Thank you so much Swamiji for teaching us that Nama sankirtana is the best way to salvation in this age. Sri Guru Datta!

Jai Guru Datta Appaji – Still in a trance after listening to the soulful & mellifluous bhajan…
During my first Darshan of Your Holiness in Baton Rouge during Guru Purnima 1998, I remember you explaining that Appaji’s bhajans are not just any other musical concert… It is Bhajana YOGA. Over time, I realized how this novel Yogic method effectively worked magic in our lives…
First, your bhajans quiesce our disturbed minds through the captivating Ragas and put us in a Meditative State.
Then, they drive the essence of Vedanta through the lyrics of the Divine Bhajans – which is equivalent of listening to hours of Vedantic discourses (without the Hyperactive, reasoning/doubting mind getting in the way) – Leading to Divine Knowledge (Pragnanam).
Wow… your unprecedented Techniques and untiring efforts are awe-inspiring… Ever since we got mesmerized by Pujya Gurudeva’s bhajans, we don’t feel like listening to any other kinds of music… Forever grateful! Sri Guru Datta

True, praising God give peace of mind. It also helps us to realise that we are part of that complete form, there is Almighty to guide and protect us always. May Lord bless us all to experience the bliss in praising God in form of song.

    • Archana Penukonda on January 7, 2013 at 11:49 am

Swamiji is the greatest composer of all times. This is not based on blind faith, but based on my perception of the research done by several scholars. Just as a thoughtful mother sings to her child songs of wisdom for the baby to enjoy and understand, Sri Swamiji sings to us the absolute truth and the essence of the Vedas. Unquestionably, only one who has command of a subject can condense and simply it for everyone to understand. That’s what Sri Swamiji does for us but not just because He is in full command of the absolute truths, but because these truths stem from Him.

It seems to me from this message that the devotion of saints like Tyagaraja, Annamayya, Kabir Das, Meera, Purandaradas etc bloomed and matured as they continued to sing. And we are very fortunate to be blessed with Sri Swamiji’s bhajans that come in various flavors and in praise of various deities. Sri Swamiji in all His compassion gives us a menu we can pick and choose from. I sincerely hope that as we continue to sing the bhajans Sri Swamiji composed, we will get immersed in meditation and true knowledge and accelerate our journey towards God head. Obeisances to Nada Brahma, Nada Yogi Sathgurudeva!

    Jai Guru Datta,
when I sing all the energie in the body is activated. I need way more tension and at the same time relaxation when I´m singing then when I´m only speaking or listening. Thus my mind and my spirit is more present and my heart opens, too. What´s more – to not only sing , but to sing the name of god, to praise Him takes away every little dust and dirt that covers my mind. So why don´t I do it more often?
    SSri Guru Datta.

    Jai Guru Datta.
Our Sadguru’s bhajans give us a great feeling that we would want to experience when we meditate. How lucky we are that Appaji is giving us everything in simple ways for everyone to enjoy and benefit. Thanks Appaji. Namah Parvati Pataye Hara Hara, Mahaadev!

The image of all the musicians is so nice. They get all their inspiration from Sri Swamiji. Thats why they make music in complete harmony. When we listen to Bhajans or sing along with Sri Swamiji we can feel Him in our hearts. This is the most auspicious feeling we can have.

What else is needed as an evidence for today’s MMS than the MMS itself. Listen to the singing with attention and we can experience the meditation and thereby flows knowledge. Thank You Appaji – Jaya Guru Datta

Today, Appaji has given again the power and the quality of Divine music through this MMS 222. We can realize even this through His beautiful MMS 82 and 216. This is because Appaji, Himself is a NadaYogi and Nada Brahma. Further Appaji says music is my religion, it is my language , it is my soul, and it is my experience. Therefore from these words we can note Appaji is giving the top priority in His spiritual path for the Divine music. The photography and one of the old Bhajan on lord Siva are very apt to thisMSG. This we can see through the MMS 82 also. According to me , everybody in this world likes some type/ kind of music. But Appaji’s music is quite peculiar and it is not possible to classify it as anything. This is because His Bhajan and Music are very powerful and divine. Adding to this it is based on classical ragas also. Even some of my friends saying that after listening His Bhajan/ music , it is something different and gives a soothing effect. Even Appaji has said Namasangeerthana is the easiest way to get liberation. To my experience by His blessing , I involve in Bhajans which gives me good concentration , controlling the mind , increasing the willpower and getting true knowledge .The knowledge here means , we will not involve in unwanted desires and bad habits. Moreover when we sing Bhajan , it is more or less like doing a dialysis to the body and become fresh and getting good energy. Thank you Appaji to give the importance of Bhajan and I seek your blessings to continue the same till my life. JGD.

    Jai Guru Datta Appaji,

You have made meditation easier for us with your Nada and Namasankeertana.

We realise, that the more we sing the glory of God, the more we evolve in devotion. When we hear you praying to Shiva with words that come from your heart, with supreme devotion and love We also understand how to pray and sing joyfully. It was Ramanam Japa that raised Valmiki into Maha Rishi. Sankeertana reinforces devotion, knowledge and detatchment and drives away sorrow, distress and despair..

“He Hanuman, Bahu Balavan Bhakti Jnana Vairagya ki Khan ”

We will practice and sing regularly Appaji given Nama Sankirtan (singing the glory of God) with gusto and attain eternal bliss. ” Happy Bhajavali ” as Appaji praised the Mass singing by School children at Chennai Ashrama recently !!

t is very interesting to see Parivars playing music in front of Appaji in the MMS.
It is like Shiva Ganas playing music in front of Lord Shiva at Kailash.!!

Sri Guru Datta !! Om Namo Hanumathe Namaha !! Saccidananda Karya Siddhi Hanuman ki Jai !!

In new Karya Siddhi Hanumaan Temple Akhanda Hanumaan Chaalisaa is going on, on the 5th of January it was being sung in such a pleasing way in praise of Lord Hanumaan that for the first time in my life i felt i can live for ever in this Nada. Otherwise i always pray no more birth and let me leave this body as soon as possible and join The Ultimate for ever. JGD Appaji
Recently read one of Bala Swamij’s sayings “Chanting of God’s name even without knowing the meaning is also good. Fire is fire. It will burn, no matter what.” (Not exact sentence, but I remember that was the gist)
Appaji’s bhajans are laden with beejaksharas.. just by listening/singing them we are purified. Appaji has made it so easy for us and enjoyable.. Thank You Appaji!
