  1. The mind is a continuous flow of thoughts.
Thoughts can be of various genres.. some positive, some negative; some wasteful, some productive. Positive thoughts are fragrant. They energize. Negative thoughts stink. They suffocate.
Given the complexities of life, it is practical to feel suffocated often. We are human. In such times, it is a smart move to chant Gods name.
God’s names in any language trigger positive thoughts. Like when we say Kalapurushaya Namah.. we are reminded of the Lord of time – Parameshwara. When we reflect upon Him – who creates and absorbs time into himself, we know that he will do so even for a troublesome moment, if and when we are in one. That thought can be very refreshing, to an otherwise suffocated mind.
    Thankful pranams Sathgurudeva!
You have given us so many Gods names to chant.. and in many energizing tunes, that we have no reason to feel fatigued, as long as we follow your advise. We will.

Jaya Guru Datta! What an interesting thought–that our mind “smell.” How sensitive our Guru is and how much understanding this makes is so necessary for us to keep our minds clean as to not offend Him! Sri Guru Datta!

Chanting Gods names strengthens the senses-MMS 127. Todays MMS is reinforced to it. And a clean mind projects a clean world-MMS78. Thank you Appaji for this wonderful MMS. Swamiji for our convenience, made it easy for us to chant the divine names of Gods in the form of Bhajans and has shown us an easy way to attain victory over Bhavasagar. Chanting the names of the Lord at all times is the best medicine for our mind, specially in this kaliyuga the only best tool available. Om Namo Hanumate Namah

Jai Guru Datta! Probably our mind’s smells can be worse than ognions and garlic – the idea that our Sadgurudeva suffers less of our minds when we chant God’s name is very encouraging to do it!

There are times when we are with people contemplating and discussing problems. When all of a sudden “DATTA DATTA DATTA DATTA DATTA Jay” comes into our mind. The thoughtful and preoccupied mind makes place to the nature of DATTA – full of joy. The true nature of all of us. How nice to see the water flow up the hill. How wonderful and blissful for us that Sri Swamiji is there!

Jaya Guru Datta Appaji. The video, our Shiva, Appaji’s video, unlike the pictures in many MMS’ the ambiance make this MMS a very special one. in addition, the uniquely long quote in the divine voice of Your Holiness makes this a very special message. Thanks a lot Appaji for reminding us again that nama sankeertana will get us rid of the bad poorva vaasanaas.

    • Archana Penukonda on March 20, 2013 at 11:47 pm

Jaya Guru Datta! Brings to mind a beautiful bhajan from the album Ram Sanjeev: “Ram naam ki madhur malayi janam janam dukh dur bhagayi”. The chanting of Lord Rama’s name drives away the sorrows of this life and all lives to come.

Thank You for this beautiful message, Swamiji. Just as eating at regular intervals of time energizes our body, chanting energizes our mind. More we chant, the better. Chanting at dawn, mid-day and dusk are particularly recommended by Pujya Swamiji and Pujya Bala Swamiji. MMS # 292 said that mere repetition will not lead to concentration. So, we need to sincerely and lovingly chant the name of God whenever we can. Thank You, Swamiji. Not only will I use God’s name as a weapon against unwanted thoughts, I’ll work on chanting God’s name whenever possible. It’s only my ignorance which leads me to believe that something else is more important than chanting God’s name. Obeisances at the Holy Lotus Feet!

Through various MMS according to me, Appaji is reminding us the important role of our mind in day to day life. In to day’s MMS also , He is specifically says about mind only. The mind is responsible for all our actions and thoughts. As we see in the photography , How the water fall flow from the hills , similarly in our mind the thoughts will flow gently , roughly and even sinfully. In otherwords such thoughts will be positive or negative or even sinful. Only positive thoughts will help us in our life and give a good peace of mind. To acquire such positive, basically we have to cultivate noble thoughts in our mind—-Appaji’s MMS 2. Now according to me the easiest way to cultivate such noble thoughts in our mind is only through Chanting god’s name regularly by way of of Mantras, Slokas and Bhajans etc which Appaji has given to us. It is our duty to follow His words and teachings strictly. Now as per this MSG when we cultivate noble thoughts in our mind , it will become positive and naturally we will express them in a pleasant words and it will reflect in our action also and not only that which will be like an Odour. Further Appaji’s one of the old Bhajans on Lord Siva is very apt for this MSG, since as per GuruGeetha Lord Siva Himself has come to this earth especially in this Kaliyuga in the form of Sadguru and Who is nothing but our Appaji only. Thank You Appaji to teach us with such a nice and wonderful MMS and we follow You. JGD.

Jaya Guru Datta, dear Appaji! Probably not only to me but to most of us, chanting God’s names is the easiest way to get peace of mind and progress. I find it intellectually appealing to bend my mind at the Lord’s feet at all times, yet find it difficult to implement this in my present janma. Anyway, please give me the strength to think of You (Appaji / God) as much as possible! And thank You for enabling me to pass my exam :-)! Sri Guru Datta! Om namo hanumate namah!
