  1. Enchanting visuals & music-Track16, CD1, Appaji 70.

Sunny is fully engrossed in a roomful of toys. Every new toy he gets, he wants more. Mummy is just back from office. Hearing her, he runs out straight into her bosom. Toys are forgotten. Dad asks “Beta if you have to choose between your toys and Mummy.. what will you choose?” Without a blink sunny says “Mummy”. She’s all he wants!

Dear Gurudeva, You’re Datta Guru Avatara. Where you are is our swarga. Like Sita said, “Where Rama is, that place is Ayodhya for Sita”. Nothing can be so fulfilling. Yielding to desires only creates more desires. We’re sick of this illusion. Whereas, when we’re in your divine presence, we’ve nothing to long for, we’re so full of peace! Here we are, surrendering at your lotus feet. Please accept us in your grace. Let’s enjoy the bliss of your communion always! That’s the only way our desires will vanish, making way for our fulfillment. Jaya Guru Datta, Your Puttuji

Jaya Guru Datta, Swamiji, as I watched this video this morning, I was reminded of a day over 20 years ago when I fully pranamed before You for the first time. As I did so, you said “Finally!” It had taken me four years to be willing to do that. As a westerner, I didn’t understand why one would want to bow before You, let alone surrender to You. After that exclamation, You lovingly explained to me that by bowing before the Guru one opened oneself up for blessings. You explained that when a devotee bows before the Guru, the top of the head where the sahasrara chakra resides is exposed and that allows the Guru to bless that individual with energy. Also, as the student touches the Guru’s feet, energy transmission takes place as well. It’s hard for those who don’t know yoga to understand this concept, but that day I learned the truth of Swamiji’s words. Always you are looking for ways to bless us…..

It doesn’t work, when I wait surrender the guru till all desires are finished. I will have always new desires. Guru is helping me, that one day desires are finish. I must surrender NOW!!!

  2. All our reasoning ends in surrendering to the feeling .. When we surrender ourself to the desire , we get it fulfilled .. Then comes another one .. The series continues … Well , there is one desire which can put an end to all other desires , that is the desire to surrender at sadguru’s lotus feet.. The mms ends with the prayer , jagadguruave namaha , which is our Sadguru rupi Sri Krishna .. Tvameva mama Sharanam krishna, tvaam vina anyam na jaane! Jgd

  4. JGD.Surrender to Guru is to be a total surrender thro’ mano-vak-kaya.When this is the fact what else could be your requirement, to cherish our’s own?Surrendering is the simplest way of a saadaka to attain the goal of life.SGD

  5. If I wait till all the waves in the ocean stop before stepping in to take a quick dip in the waters, I will wait endless lifetimes at the seashore, because the waves will never stop. Waves keep rising one after another continuously, just like desires, Will such a day ever arrive when I have exhausted all my desires? Never! It is the nature of desires that they never end. One desire always leads to another. It is also the nature of problems to never end. They always flow in a stream. There is no such time in life when all is calm, all bills are settled, all desires are satisfied, all children are married, all repairs are done in the house, and all pains and problems are gone. Life is not made that way. Just when it appears like a nice lull, some disaster occurs and the cycle begins againNow is the only good time for anyone to seek a Sadguru and to surrender at his feet. It is no use going to a guru to ask for endless favors such as, please get me a visa, a job, a marriage alliance, a promotion, a transfer, a loan to build a house, a settlement of the court case, or a win at the lottery. Guru knows what is good for you and what is not. Guru knows that worldly successes will only pull you further down into the whirlpool of selfishness, ego, and desires for luxury. Guru may grant you your desires, but they will not benefit you spiritually. It is only when you surrender and allow the Guru to decide what to give you that you will finally begin to surface from the murky waters of pains and problems. Guru will then wipe out your desires and show you a taste of contentment and lasting peace. Our Sadguru Sri Swamiji is an expert at that. All that you have to do is to totally surrender. Accept his directives without question or whimper. Just do what he says, and you are set on your path to liberation. Sri Guru Datta’s

Coming home from a journey my wife told me that i look energetically grey and dirty. In the night i dreamt being in a beautiful room with Sri Swamiji. He was so kind and caring! He came to me and cleaned me energetically with His hands from head to feet. The next morning i woke up fresh and uplifted. My wife told me that i look energetically nice again.
Sri Swamiji cares for us so much!

our desires will never finish. We will have to take birth after birth to satisfy our desires. This leads us no where. Surrender to the Lotus feet of our Sadgurudeva and pray that HE removes our illusions, desires without expecting anything in return. That is the way to salvation,Liberation.

  6. Funny how we place our precious lives in the hands of the driver of a car or plane, or the knife of a surgeon, with no thought or inquiry into his track record, but hesitate for decades to place our trust in a Guru whose protective powers and capabilities have been proven time and again. Do we even have any brains? Jaya Guru Datta

    • Hema on October 5, 2012 at 5:43 pm

Just as the mother knows what is best for the child, so Sadgurudeva knows what his disciples need. The child may wish for candy instead of real food , but mother makes sure he eats well. Similarly we make all kind of demands on our Appaji and cry when he gives us real food to eat instead. Surrender means deferring to a higher authority. We all recognize that Sadguru is a much higher power than ourselves. HE knows what to give and when to give. May we all have the fate to accept what he gives. Om namo Hanumate namaha. Jaya Guru Datta.

  7. And we must be sure to use that energy wisely and in service to humanity! Not being puffed up by this nor that…MY God, especially not that…cometimes devotees get puffd up! Neti Neti…and remembering that we are one with all ….., the same as all, not more, not less.THE SAME/// We cannot take a name given to us by Swamigi and exclaimed “oh it is the magnifiicent and above everyone else! All names are one! Noone has the right to slam doors in others’ faces! Mp ,atter who you are.. and what name Swamigi has given you! JGD
    As Everything is ONE!

    Jai Guru Datta!!

The whole universe is within Appaji and at Appaji’s Lotus feet. Then why would we ever want to focus on anything but Appaji and HIS Lotus Feet?? Surrendering to Sadgurudeva will take us through the Samsara to Salvation. We have only this human birth to be able to do so. When a devotee surrenders himself to Sadguru, Gurudeva dispels the darkness of ignorance and leads to realization. Wonderful message and video Appaji!!

Puttuji, today’s Appaji’s MMS is also more or less connected to yesterday’s MMS 127. In both MMS, Appaji is reminding us about our spiritual path. For a student from his childhood itself a teacher is required to build up his carrier. Similarly a Sadguru is needed for the growth of our spiritual path from our early stage itself. Then only we can fulfill our life as stated by Swamiji. In this Kaliyuga  people are more attracted in worldly pleasures and un wanted desires and thereby they will forget the God. That is why Appaji is reminding us to surrender a Guru now for our spiritual path without waiting to finish all our desires. This is because till our life there is no end for our desires also in so many ways. But if we follow our Sadguru from our earlier part of the life then we will be able controll these unwanted desires and can develop the spiritual path which is only permanent till our life. By doing so we can put our children in the right track which lead for success in their life in all respects. Therefore Appaji we follow your words and teachings strictly for the spiritual path and will not be inclined in the worldly pleasures and unwanted desires.   JGD.

Surrendering to Guru’s lotus feet is an ongoing process for this devotee. There is no greater desire than to be surrendered, but I find myself faced with yet another old impression that shows my ego holding on. There is no waiting to surrender, I just pray the obstacles vanish through His Grace. JGD

    • Praveen Nidumolu on October 6, 2012 at 5:11 pm

Jai Guru Datta Appaji – It is the nature of the mind to ideate (thoughts) incessantly and our Buddhi has the knack of attaching itself to those thoughts and delve in them… and this has been the story of our life – through multiple cycles of Life and Death.

Unless we make a sincere effort to surrender our Buddhi and other modifications of the mind (SELF) to our beloved SadhGuru, it will continue to attach itself to the thoughts generated by the ideating mind.
Essentially, we need to declare to the Universe that we want the Supreme bliss that exists at the Lotus feet of the SadhGuru and not the fleeting experiences of pleasures/pain offered by our Mind (Chitta).

During Pattabhishekam, Sita Devi gifted a pearl necklace to Lord Hanuman pleased by all his efforts… however, he rejected the beautiful necklace citing that he did not find Rama Namam (name of Rama) on the pearls.
Please give us the Buddhi to reject the mundane pleasures of this world and surrender at your Lotus Feet. Sri Guru Datta!

JGD Appaji. I have realized this plain and profound fact a little later after getting introduced to you and to Guru Parampara. My foolish mind never could reason “why anyone should bow to you? You are are just a human being”. But when I bowed down at your holy feet and surrendered myself to you, I realize what has changed within me and about me. Desire for your grace is unquenchable and is always there deep rooted and that fulfills all my other desires that you deem i deserve. Thank You Appaji for re-iterating this for people like me

    • Joseph on October 10, 2012 at 10:00 am

God is protector who save us, offering our prayers helps us to overcome all problems and He guides us in right path. Deeds like helping and serving others selflessly makes us dear to lord. Surrendering by thoughts and action! By doing this will we be safeguarded like baby in warm hands of mother? If yes it’s wonderful, but how can we find such a Guru who has complete knowledge to guide us in right path knowing about the disciple completely? Leaving the desires or not worrying about their fulfilment! Then what else should we be doing by surrendering? Just chanting the name of God and being in association or just serve the society without any selfish motto, like Mother Teresa had followed and set an example for the entire world! I think, it’s yes.. and to practise this Sri Swamiji is spreading His message to all so that at least few are inspired to follow them and bring essence to their life.

Desires never stop without Guru’s grace ~ 15 Oct 2012

Namaste Puttuji, wonderful video. Thank You. Desires, like waves in the ocean never stop without Guru’s grace. As an example to this quote, Appaji always tells a story that one saint tells his devotee to take sacred mantra and start spiritual practice. Everytime saint asks devotee gives some excuse regarding his family. Saint wants him to understand the truth and takes him near to the ocean and tells him that he will give mantra once tides stop coming. They wait and wait. Irritated, devotee says that tides never stop. Then saint replies just like tides, desires too don’t stop. Realized, devotee listens to Saint and starts spiritual practice. Appaji always exemplify His sayings by short stories. It is very easy to understand the meaning. Children remember them as stories but as they grow up, understand Appaji’s saying. Thank You Appaji. Namaste.

Surrender to Guru now – 5th oct 2012

Our experience in life shows very clearly that the happiness derived by fulfilling our materialistic desires is very fleeting. It gives joy only for a moment. Whereas the bliss that is experienced is Sadguru’s presence is everlasting! Even years later, when we recollect such experiences with our Sadguru, be it His words, or His smile, it still brings cheer and joy. When we have understood this difference so well, should our only desire in life be to serve our Master, to be in His presence, to chant His name constantly and ultimately surrender to Him??? What other desire can bring greater happiness than this?? We are all extremely fortunate to be contemporaries to our Master. Let us not waste a minute. We must put aside all our others desires and surrender at His lotus feet and experience everlasting bliss. Jaya Guru Datta

Desires are never ending.. if we want to fulfill them, we will be stuck in the last step of the ladder. Let us leave everything and start climbing the steps, that take us closer to Him,.. He knows what to give us and when to give..lets be relieved of this responsibility and enjoy the blissful journey that reaches Him.
