  1. {Violence : Aggression. Behaviour that causes physical or emotional damage}
    {Kindness : Compassion}
    What does it take to handle a starfish in the same way one would handle a slender flower? Kindness. Compassion
    Kind thoughts manifest as non-violent behaviours. Unkind thoughts manifest as violent behaviours
    A mind that doesn’t know art will not find it easy to appreciate a painting. Without an ear for music, one can’t appreciate a symphony
    Pranams Sathguru!
    How simply you have explained why we find it tough to practice non-violence! When you hold those flowers with care, you are teaching us that we have to treat all beings around us with the same softness & kindness. Thanks a million for inculcating the virtue of kindness in our minds.
    We now appreciate the value of non-violence. In a world where we inflict so much violence within & around us, the virtue of kindness is the need of the hour. We follow you. Jaya Guru Datta. Your Puttuji

    Dear Swami AVADHOOTA
    Nonviolence is also necessary in our thoughts, please fill us with kindness, so that there is no space in us for violence.
    Once again a very nice video, like the see with the pearls and the starfish 🙂
    Sri Guru Datta and humble prostrations

    Jaya Guru Datta! The image of Lord Shiva in the end with His eyes half closed seems to be full of love and compassion. Kindness, not just towards the people we love, but towards everyone and everything around us is what will help us be non-violent. Clearly violence doesn’t just have to be physical in nature. If we remember that God who made us, made the rest of the creation as well, if we remember that the same Paramatman pervades every soul in the Universe, it will perhaps help us always be kind. For, what we really are, they are all too. Often, we forget kindness towards strangers in the face of unfavorable events, we forget kindness towards other life forms. In fact, we may forget kindness towards each other when there’s contention to have our Sathguru’s darshan. Non violence needs to be practiced through mind, body and speech. Thank You for this lesson, Puttuji. May we practice non-violence, always! Obeisances at the Holy Lotus Feet!

    Thinking about this MMS , it occurred to me that basic kindness is truly lacking in many of our societies, hence the rise in violent crime all over the world. As devotees of Appaji, it is our duty to show kindness to all we meet, even when the other persons are being unkind. By a show of kindness it is possible to change the way the unkind person behaves at least for a while. Om namo Hanumate namah. Jaya Guru Datta,

    Jaya Guru Datta and Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. I pray for Mother Swamiji to bless us all with kind hearts so that we may be able to practice ahimsa. Please bless us with good thoughts, good words and good deeds. I love you Mother Swamiji. Sri Guru Datta

    Jaya Guru Datta! Dear Appaji, a few days ago I wrote about this one part of me which is favouring to punish wicked people violently. I now even better understand it’s a lack of kindness in me… ironically, I have been viewing myself as quite kind. Of course, this is not the full picture of myself, so I beg You to continue to guide me to develop more and more kindness. Sri Guru Datta! Om namo hanumate namah!

    ahimsaa paramo dharmah… known and frequently read adage. Then, Appaji, today’s MMS shows what is the basic ingredient for that parama dharma. If there is no compassion, there is no heart and there is no scope for non-violence. What a wonderful way of giving the perspective to all of us for developing this inherent need of compassion to be able to lead a righteous life. Thanks a lot Appaji. Jaya Guru Datta

    Jaya Guru Datta, Swamiji! I love what Puttugi is saying about kind thoughts. Ahimsa begins with our thoughts about ourselves. Too often we have self hatred and are so self critical. May we all begin to be gentler in our thoughts towards ourselves and towards all living things.

    In today’s MMS, Appaji has given us another lesson to follow. It is a fact that in this kaiyuga , we can see the violence daily every where. These incidents even we can get through the papers and media also. Why it is happening? That is why to overcome this , Appaji is asking us to develop kindness in our life , sothat there is no chance to create violence. But in today’s busy world it is not so easy to develop kindness in our mind or in our heart. According to me therefore to attain this every body should follow the spiritual path through a Master.( Sadguru). Now if we go through our Appaji’s even earlier MMS, and implement , practice the same, we can reach our goal as stated into day’s MMS. For example our mind has got an important role in our life. Therefore we have to learn to control our mind. Here if you see MMS 2, it states to cultivate noble thoughts in our mind. Now if we develop this, it will lead us to follow Dharma(basic principle of cosmos) and we will have a tendency to help the needy etc. Also Appaji used to say to pray to god to give balance of mind in our life which will help us in so many ways. Therefore , Appaji we got your valuable concept and follow your words, advice and teachings. The photography is very apt for this MSG since if you look in to Appaji’s face itself we can see the kindness there which even change our mind to do noble things. The Bhajan is also very nice since Lord Siva himself is so kind enough in one side and on other side He will destroy the violence wherever is there through His Third Divine Eye. JGD.

    jgd Lord if we see Your kindness to us we can learn to be kind, Your patience to transform us is appreciable, if we remember Your compassionate care towards all, our humble actions words will fruit in nonviolence only, may there be peace all over with Your blessings and messages onhn sgd

    • Joseph on January 22, 2013 at 12:44 pm

    This message reminds me of Sri Swamiji’s message “Patience is the greatest penance and Kidness is the greatest virtue”. True kindness is one of the best merit one can observe and possess. Nonviolence is possible when there is Kidness towards others and patience to tolerate their behaviour, be it positive or negative. Only then we can believe in the concept of nonviolence because without kindness and patience life cannot be peaceful. Let us practise kindness, nonviolence and may lord bless us all to be peaceful and happy.

    Pujya Sri Swamiji, Sachchidananda Niti Mala, Ahimsa (non-violence):

    Hatred does not cease by hatred. It ceases by love only. If you have
    pure unselfish love for others, then they will also have the same
    feelings of love for you. Therefore cultivate universal love based on
    purity and selflessness. Love based on infatuation is not love. There is
    no infatuation where love is.

    JGD Appaji
    Non violence can only be possible when we feel kindness, love and compassion towards all creation. This is only possible by killing our inner enemies. Appaji’s music is a great medicine to open our hearts and kill our inner enemies.
