His Holiness spreads pleasantness always.. He is Satchitananda Swaroopa. And, pleasantness is an infectious emotion.. even animals can pick it up. You see parrots, dogs, cows, deers, elephants, kangaroos even snakes.. are all pleasant and peaceful when they are with Gurudeva. If any of us lesser mortals go near them, we know the fear we create in them. We fear them.. and they pick up that feeling and play it back to us. Fear begets fear. Pleasantness begets pleasantness.

Interesting facts about Ashrma during 60’s.
A senior devotee, Sri Nagaraju had tried and failed to get a coveted bank job in Calcutta. His father encouraged him to seek Swamiji’s blessings for getting selected for the job. The cobra which was wound around Swamiji’s neck at the time he had Sri Swamiji’s darshan in 1966, upon Swamiji’s command quickly came down and touched the application, after which the devotee got the job effortlessly.
So many miracles those days. There were so many snakes. Snakes, a dog, deer and peacocks. No photography, no video. All friends. If Swamiji is practicing Sitar, they all come. Only a few black and white photos are there. Snakes will play with Swamiji, go inside the clothes. Very cold. Swamiji says, come back, come back. The snakes quarrel to come near Swamiji. No one in the ashram will come near Swamiji then. When Swamiji calls them near also, the devotees do not come near, saying, Swamii, you have snakes around you, because they are afraid of the snakes. One day Swamiji told the snakes, people are afraid of you. Please go away. That is enough. Then, finished. No snakes.
In the ashrama at lunch time they ring a bell for people to come for the meal. A big snake also used to come. Milk used to be kept for it in an earthen pot. The snake would come, drink the milk and go away. A very Satvic, big, golden king cobra.
For Pujya Appaji humans, trees, scorpions, snakes, wild monkeys, birds, fishes, penguins are all His children. This entire creation is His family. That is why animals are not afraid of Sri Swamiji.Snakes freely play with Him. HH is the most harmless child, although He is the most powerful. They sense that HH is their friend The Satvic vibrations radiate outwards and calm everything down.

Jaya Guru Datta. Sri Swamiji, the Supreme Lord Datta, sees the supreme being in this entire creation. In fact, it may be wrong to say that God is in us, for Swamiji says that God alone exists. We are all manifestations of the supreme, covered in ignorance. Few things highlight this fact as well as the delightful and mysterious connection Sri Swamiji seems to have with all life forms. The fact that all life forms respond to that universal, selfless love that Sri Swamiji radiates points to an underlying oneness in all of us.

Pranams at the Holy Lotus Feet.
