: Datta Stava 3 : My Guru is my deenabandhu. My Guru is my kripasindhu. My Guru is the sarvakarana karana. I offer my devotion to my Guru who is Sarvaraksha kara. I offer my humble pranams at the feet of Appaji my Guru who is the friend of the destitute, the ocean of compassion, who is the cause of all causes, and who is my ultimate protector. I used to feel like an orphan before I came into His grace. He has picked me up and in all his compassion has been protecting me. And since I realize that He is the cause of all causes I feel safe in his Grace. Jaya Guru Datta! jgd..PuttuGam..

Just as Dattatreya Swami our Swamiji is a store-house of compassion, but doles out that after putting small test for the level of devotion.

Jaya Guru Hanuman, Thank you Swamiji for the beautiful message…This is my favorite verse from Datta Stavam..It talks about the all compassionate Datta and the one who constantly protects us. Due to superstition whenever I think that God will be angry with me for certain things or situations I always remember this beautiful verse which reassures that God is always compassionate and always loves us. It is only our thoughts and actions that harm us. This verse also reminds us that during childhood when we are solely dependent on mothers milk, during sleep and at all times it is god alone that protects us and no one else. Om namo hanumate namaha
