  1. {Lust: An overwhelming desire or craving.. a lust for power; Intense eagerness or enthusiasm.. a lust for life} {Vice: An evil, undesirable, immoral practice or habit.. corruption}

Naanu Nannadu (Me and Mine), Neenu Ninnadu (You and Yours).. are false. These feelings are at the root of desire. The stronger these feelings, the more overwhelming the desire. So overwhelming, that it blinds one’s sense of reason and morale. (Desire deludes the mind.. MMS 87).

Such intense feeling of belonging can get dangerous.. as it happened in the story of the two pigeons. They were so much in love with each other, that when a hunter killed one of them, the other ended its life too.

    Dearest Sathgurudeva!

You are Anjaneya, who demonstrates how one has to perform his duties in this world, without getting trapped in the moha of the senses. We will follow your example, and guard ourselves from falling prey to lust.

    Jaya Guru Datta. Your Puttuji

Such an honest explanation as we all are guilty of this from time to time Appaji. By reminding us of this just demonstrates just how you are alway trying to show us the path of righteousness. Thank you Appaji for alway guiding us in the journey of life….jaya guru datta!

When we look for lust, we can’t be connected with our soul. Then we don’t hear, when the Guru or God are speaking to us. Then we live a life in the hell. For what we are then on this earth????

Uncontrolled desire is definetly an evil habit, because lack of control over the thoughts, feelings and desires with in us will surely destroys our worldly and spiritual progress. May lord protect us from lust and other dangerous vice in us.

In today’s MMS, Appaji has really given a warning or alerting us about how dangerous if a person involve in craving or in an intense desire. Here again our mind is the root cause for all our desire. In this Kaliyuga , people are more attracted in worldly pleasures and comfort and thereby ,unable to control the mind which lead to intense desire or craving. That is why , Appaji says we should not be misleaded by over desires which will end our life in a miserable condition. To control this , means we have to control our sense organs which includes our mind through follow a spiritual path under the guidelines of our Sadguru, Who will put us in the right path and brings us from darkness to light and open our mind. Naturally we will act or do anything in our life only as per His command or instruction with out a second thought. If we practice like that, we will be able to control our lust also. The photography is very apt for this MSG, as Lord Hanuman do His duty and seva with out any expectation from Lord Rama or Sita. Similarly we should also do our duty under the guidelines of our Sadgury and thereby we will not unnecessarly involve in lust also. The Bhajan is also apt for this MSG. Hence , Appaji we got your concept and follow your words and teachings and do our seva to your mission. JGD.

JGD. This mms is pretty straight to the point. Puttugam has taught us the story about the doves who all end up loosing their lives do to their attachment to one another. Some people grow up learning that there is honor in certain kinds of attachments but the story of the doves illustrates that it is just another form of bondage. The husband dove met with an untimely death when he gave up living after seeing the wife dove in the snare and that is a tragic waste of useful lifetime. Then there is the story of the lusty male elephants who are always falling into traps when attempting to round up a lady friend. Poor ol’ things. SGD

Jaya Guru Datta. I pray to overcome lust. Sri Guru Datta

  2. FIRST I WOULD LIKE TO STATE THAT II ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BHAJAN!
I have always considered JEALOUSY as the utmost sin and detriment to our human and godly beingingness!
Lust to me implies a loving and almost ifatuation towards another… that is Nature. Can the Pigeon help its lustful natural feelings for its mate? I believe Not! What nature has set into procreation motion we cannot alter! As humans we belong to this picture!
Lust is in a different categore… It is not controlling the natural feelings of love towards the opposite sex, (or even now adays the like)
On the other hand, I have watched this tempest called JEALOUSY since in my adolescence, and i have felt greatly that it is this JEALOUSY that is one of the most VILE feelings and out of control emotions that a Human can have! ( I think it must plague the femaile sex th e most but also the male sex)
I have watched as Jealousy (a form of Hatred) consumes the being and can reproduce itself into other of the deadly sins within the being! I have watched this within my own very being!… JGD!

Jai Guru Datta! Lust is “the devil in the cat’s tail”. Did you see a cat running after it’s own tail? Imagine!
(recently got to know about the belief that the devil is in the cat’s tail, that’s why these wonderful animals are not liked in India.)

Jaya Guru Datta! Lust is a very sneaky vice. It consumes you completely while you think you are just working hard to make good money, or you are vying for a position of power because you want to serve the society or you are in love with someone etc. A new-born is pure and innocent, but it’s only a matter of time before the “Arishadvargas” make their home in the mind of that child as he grows up. Remembering that the world is a projection of the mind, we know that it’s not another person or situation causing lust, but our own mind. When we let the indriyas rule, they will lead us toward vices. Using our intellect as the charioteer, we can use the reins of mantra chanting to rein in the horses called indriyas. As situations that tempt us to fall prey to vices arise, we will need to strengthen our will than allow ourselves to err one more time. This will feel difficult at first, but will become easier with practice. Obeisances at the Holy Lotus Feet!

    Jaya Guru Datta Puttuji_/\_!!

Mesmerizing Divine voice !! Who else to better teach us to tame our senses than Lord Aanjeneya!! Sadgurudeva as Lord Aanjeneya is teaching us to channel our thoughts in a rightful manner so that our actions are righteous!!

    Dusswapna nasini ceyam suswapna phaladayini
Ripunam stambini gita vachaspatya pradayini !!

Reciting Guru Gita everyday dispels the effect of bad dreams and provides good results for good dreams. The bad dream is one which causes bondage. The good dream is one, which provides the birth in which the grace of Sadgurudeva is secured. The six indwelling elements are Lust (Kama), Anger (Krodha), Greed (Lobha), Passion (Moha), Pride (Mada),Envy (Matsarya).

By following Sadgurudeva’s words, selfless seva and attending Guru Poornima celebrations ( the annual cleansing Program) we can guard ourselves from falling prey to lust.and desires.
Surrendering at your Lotus Feet Appaji !!

Sri Guru Datta !! Om Maha viraya Namah !! Om Anjaneyaya Namah !! Om Namo Hanum

Humble Pranams to the lotus feet of Sriswamiji. Its a valuable MMS for the generations of all the times and it highlights the importance of leading a Dharmic Life. Profundity by itself will be meaning less if a person is morally a bankrupt. Life on earth should be lived in full measure but the deeds, thoughts and actions are to be regulated by the voice of righteousness, instead of falling pray to lust, which is the deceiver.Jayagurudatta.

    Dearest Appaji,
Please help us to stay firm,
    when greediness and power-hunger
    knock at the door.
    Please protect us
    against lustful temptations,
which want to seduce us to waste out time at the periphery.
Please be with us in weak moments,
help us to remain close to the center,
    to focus entirely on YOU!
    Thank YOU so much!

    • Sarumati on February 24, 2013 at 6:51 am

Getting less – increases craving, getting much -also increases craving.
So, I think, “the getting” is the killing factor.

    How can we cope with?
by being playfully, pleasing and restricting?
    by doubting? by ignoring?
    by feeling gratitude?
by appreciating everything – the giving and the getting?
by seeing it as a cycle of living and dying?

With children – it is my experience that strict rules are very important.
To clear a situation. Always put the focuss on the bright side.
Children need sweets, love, a hug and a cuddle. Then they feel safe and well cared after.
In my view, it`s the feeling of shortage and deficiency, feeling small and under-priviledged.

Only a few have the grace in life, not to feel like that. Most of these divine beings have an ideal
in life that helps them overcome all hindrances and feel happy .
Like our dear Sadguru, too !

Jaya Guru Datta! I had one specific big lesson, with hard and unrepairable consequences in my life. I learned out of it. Now I try to renounce as well as possible to wishes and I do my best to let my GURU guide my life, asking HIM to give me what I need. Only HE knows it! And then, trusting, surrending and accepting what comes! It is not easy, but HE gives me the strength for it. Sri Guru Datta

  3. You get the biggest problems in life if you follow only the desire principle. If your parents have set to you no limits and you have not learnt to renounce something. You live uncontrollably your feelings and hold responsible others for your annoyance, fury, rage and frustration. Then it is good to have an example like Sri SwamiJi which teaches us the way of Dharma Dhwaja. Follow the words of the master, watching His hidden light, trying to catch His orders in the very midst of the fight. Be generous to others. Shri Guru Datta

Lust is binding,..it binds our senses, our ability to make good decisions… true love sets us free, its pure and all encompassing. Such True Love without any expectations is possible only for Appaji. Appaji, we will follow Your teachings and day by day come a step closer to finding out what that True Bliss is. We will stay away from Lust and all the other inner enemies by constantly listening to Your voice.
