  1. {Pusne: Surya}
MMS55 taught – “Preservation of humanity is the aim of Dharma”. Humanity will not survive another World War. It is worth doing whatever it takes to promote non-violence.
Yet, practicing non-violence does not mean being a push over, or a pliant person, particularly when it comes to defending the sovereignty of one’s Mother Land.
    Pranams Suryaswaroopa Sadgurudeva!
Wearing white, you symbolize peace. You energize.
In this avatara, you demonstrate how one can stand-up for himself, without using violence.
At the same time, you inspire us to endow (dharapoyu) our life (bratuku) if necessary, for the sake of our Motherland (Bharatmata), without any self-interest (svartam).
When necessary we will, like Skanda, run (urukupetti) & leap in (dukudam) from anywhere, to fight (porudam) for the sake of (koraku) our fellow men (janata).
We realize, serving your cause begins with being a responsible citizen. We follow you.
    Jaya Guru Datta. Your Puttuji

  3. Jaya Guru Datta Appaji,
You have bestowed us with a very meaningful message depicting knowledge( sun) and skanda( Power and wisdom) as a tool to enhance our tolerance and leave the path of violence.

    • TR.Sethuraman, Cochin on May 28, 2013 at 1:41 pm

By seeing today’s MMS, I recollect Appaji’s MMS 236 , saying that where there is no kindness non violence is not possible. Now today Appaji has gone further deep in to this and say nonviolence is the highest virtue also. Therefore according to me those who are be kind enough in their life or attitudes, they will have the quality of doing what is right and avoiding what is wrong. In otherwords their aim in the life is to keep the basic principle of cosmos.( dharma). At the sametime in this Kaliyuga , to follow dharma is not so easy, unless we follow a spiritual path under the guide lines of our Sadguru. The photography is apt for this MSG , wherein Appaji is in pure white dress which indicates to follow dharma and to develop peace in this world. The music is also apt for this MSG. Thank You Appaji to remind us the concept of highest virtue and to develop this we follow Your words and teachings. JGD.

    Jaya Guru Datta
    Om Pusne Namah
There are so many thoughts and actions where we can practice non-violence, every day, every minute. How do we treat an animal, a fly or a spider. Which meal do we choose. Was there any animal harmed? How do we talk to our family members, our neighbor or somebody on the street. Through our peaceful and friendly being we can also bring a bit of peace into the world. We can give the wonderful and deep love, respect and peace, which we receive through the grace of Sri Swamiji, to our fellow men and children. Sri Subrahmanya helps us to be peaceful and at the same time truthful to our Divine inner Self and all around us.
Pranams to the Divine Lotus Feet of SadGuruDeva.

Jaya Guru Datta! Dear Appaji, I’m afraid I have not achieved this yet, especially when it comes to non-violence in thoughts. Please uproot the kshatriya tendencies in me which I sometimes feel when krodha crops up because of very bad and violent behaviour of terrorists and governments. May peace prevail throughout the world and universe. Om shanti shanti shanti! Sri Guru Datta!

    • Joseph on May 28, 2013 at 11:41 pm

Sri Swamiji efforts are appreciable in conveying messages to uplift mankind. Kindness and nonviolence are surely greatest virtues a person can possess. Sri Swamiji conveys messages in various Indian languages of Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Marati, along with English sayings to convey the message more effectively. May lord bless us all with nonviolence and kindness.

    • Archana Penukonda on May 29, 2013 at 1:50 am

MMS 260 said compassion is the greatest virtue. Compassion is a pre-requisite for non-violence. The soundtrack used in this video reminds me of the mindless violence India has been witnessing. Swamiji is instructing us all to dedicate our lives to save our countries, to prevent violence and to serve society. Thank You for the wonderful commentary, Puttuji. Practicing non-violence doesn’t mean one needs to be a push-over. Practicing non-violence implies that we don’t hurt anyone physically or mentally while we continue to stand for Dharma. It means that we are compassionate towards other living beings. A lot of people are polite with everyone except their family members. Swamiji has been teaching us that non-violence and compassion are to be practiced everywhere at all times. Non-violence in our thought, word and deed is essential. Any thought of violence, however small (whether it’s through words or actions), should be discarded as soon as it enters the mind. Jaya Guru Datta!

  5. Jai Gurudatta Sri Gurudatta we will definitely follow the principle of non-violence

  7. jgd thanks Swami ji, to practice this MMS we have to understand that this world is God’s beautiful gift to us, we are on a spiritual journey, we are on this planet earth as a visitor, we have no rights to disturb the peace, may we follow the golden rule ‘live and let live’ and practice non-violence at physical, mental and spiritual level. Pranaams at Your holy feet onhn sgd

    • Sarumati on May 30, 2013 at 12:21 am

“Live and let live”, this was my mother`s golden rule : )
One can practice it, when one does not take anything too serious.
That`s not easy, world is tough enough . . .
so we`ve constituted an isle of peace, holding together, building a circle of
love and understanding, as the Picture of this MMS Shows.
I think, more and more beings will come into this circle of good will
and enjoy living, even in hard times. MMS communion has practiced it !
Now that the circle of MMS is closing, I gratefully feel I have learnt a lot .
THANK YOU dear APPAJI and ALL of YOU for these precious lessons : )
    I will keep reading and watching . . .

Practicing non violence physically with self restraint maybe easy..but what about the mind.. it is very important to remove and destroy any violent thoughts that happen in the mind. The only way is You. Your music, Your teachings are the only resort for making the mind pure.
