A man is known by the company he keeps. Like the straw used to tie jasmine flowers smells of their fragrance, human nature is very contagious. So, if we want our minds to be pure & positive, we must despise the company of low natured people. We must.
We must. Because, Lord Shiva loves the company of the pure & the pristine.. so much, that when Lord Yama (kalakaalan) approached Markandeya, the Lord broke (murida) the rope (pasa) of Lord Yama. He loved his sincere devotees so much that he even swallowed poison (Nanjunda) for their sake.

It is a short life, in a small world. We realize we can’t afford to waste our time (kala) in the company of despicable people. Thanks a ton for the caution. We follow you.

Shouldn’t we rather love every being since it is God’s creation? Probably it only seems to be contradictory. Is it rather meant for teaching purposes on a certain level? Jaya dharma! Sri Guru Datta!

By seeing to day’s MMS 357, according to me Appaji is alerting us not to have company with despicable person. In otherwords , Appaji is asking us to develop sathsang and move and company with only such kind of good people.( sajjana ) But in this Kaliyuga , it is very difficult to identify , who is good and bad. This is because in today’s busy world people are more attracted in unwanted desires and pleasures . To attain this they may go to any extend of level. Naturally most of them have no time to think about developing sathsang and to have company with good people. Here our mind also is responsible to certain extend. If we are in a position to drive our mind , then it will be easier to identify who is good and wicked. But again to drive our mind it is not so easy unless we follow a spiritual path. To follow the spiritual path we need our Sadguru , Whose teachings, words and advice to be listened properly and carefully. If we follow like that , definitely , we can easily identify who is good and bad. The photography and the Bhajan are apt for this MSG , since how Lord Siva saved markandeya from Yama due to his pure devotion. This means the God will always be with good people only. Thank You Appaji for alerting us not to have company with despicable person and learn from you to develop sathsang and to have company with good people. JGD.

JGD Since it is better to be alone than to be in the company of a wrong person,I take this oppurtunity to pray to Sathgurudeva ,to bless us with good company wherever it may be,and to give us the strength to withdraw from the unadvisable company,it becomes more difficult when they happen to be our own people,Appaji,show us a way and be with us as our strength,Om Namaha Shivaya Sathgurave namaha.
Your company is the only company worth keeping, Sadgurudeva, if not possible in person physically, at least mentally, always. All humans have flaws. Some show some worthy traits and yet, when closeness develops, their negative traits reveal themselves. Please fill my mind always with thoughts of you and you alone. All Datta devotees are journeying on the path to perfection under your guidance, but have not reached there yet. Even some of their weaknesses could rub off on me if I keep their close company. Please bless me with your company exclusively and lead me on the right path. My fervent prayers to you. Timely reminder, type of companionship always matter. Like water, Sun, air are essential for growth and nourishment of a plant similarly company plays a vital role in moulding a person’s outlook.
