Trees shed their leaves by their genetic programming, stored in their seed. Those programs, an accumulation of the trees tendencies, play out season after season, guiding its destiny
Every action originates as a thought. Repeated thoughts & actions leave their impression in the mind. Those impressions then shape up interests & attitudes, which manifest as actions, to shape one’s destiny

Jaya Guru Datta Appaji – wonderful video and a great music. I vividly remember a day when my dad teaching his class used this composition of Appaji to show the power of music. The entire class SLEPT in less than 10 min (way back in late 80s). The tendencies are the accumulated behavioural actions and habits – which will drive our current actions and decide the way we are or we are going to be. Thanks a lot Appaji for this reminder message and driving us to the righteous path…

Very true. But with Appaji by my side, even destiny can be changed. Any bad habit or tendency can be rectified and good tendencies reinforced by the blessings of our Sadgurudeva. And what an accompaniment for this message, a soothing bhajan, one of my favourites, paalaya mamiha sadguru Datta….
Some children show tremendous talent at a very early age. Some of the greatest musicians in history must’ve practiced music for several births before they became such geniuses. How else can you explain why some people show extraordinary talent even as grow up in the exact same conditions as the other people. If past tendencies shape current attitudes and interests, we need to make sure we practice good thoughts, deeds and habits in this birth so we carry over good tendencies to our next birth. I heard once that the reason why we should learn some hymns and prayers by heart is that we carry over that memory to our next birth. Whether or not we carry over the memory, we’ll at least carry over the tendency to learn more such hymns and prayers. No thought or action goes unregistered in our karmic balance sheet. Good or bad, it’ll come back to us either in this life or in our future lives. With the blessings of Sri Swamiji, may we sow divine, healthy tendencies we can reap in the future.

Today’s MMS clearly indicates that what we are today is due to our past deeds
and what we shall be depends on current and remaining past accumulated karma. Only Sadgurudeva can remove our sins and reprogram the present and future. How lucky we are that Our Compassionate Sadgurudeva has found us!!. Appaji, kindly transform me however difficult and corrupt my past program may be. Please make my present and future serve you and seek your grace in all births.

Through every day’s MMS itself, Appaji is giving a good lesson, guiding and shaping our life. As per today’s MMS , according to me everything is based on our mind settings. Puttuji, you have given a nice explanation also. Normally trees in winter shed their leaves and in summer again it grows. This is a regular procedure to them in nature and continue like that. Similarly our every action is based on our mind settings only. In otherwords our every action is controlled by our mind only. Therefore if our any action or tendency is repeated continuesly , our life life will be shaped in such a way and our attitude also will be like that. In this kaiyuga , we will be more attracted in worldly pleasures and naturally our mind will be tuned in such a way and our life will be also shaped to that attitude and that will be our destiny. To overcome these things, we have to only follow a spiritual path through our Sadguru. In this connection, to my experience here I remember Appaji’ s words saying that, before you associate with Me and after your association with Me, what is the change in your life and how it has shaped? The answer is very simple that after that A system has developed in our lifeandalso learned to maintain scilence , discipline , control our mind and so on and this leads to concentration and will power also. Thank you Appaji for reminding us from time to time and we follow your words and teachings continuesly till our life for which we seek your blessings also and to shape our life in such a way.The photography and the Bhajan in Raga Hamsanandi are very apt to the MSG also. నా చిన్నతనంలో ఆంధ్ర జ్యోతి వార పత్రికలో “సందేహం సచ్చిదానందం ” శీర్షికలో స్వామీజీ ఇచ్చే సమాధానాలు మొదటిసారి చదివాను. ఒక దశాబ్దం తరువాత హైదరాబాద్ లో స్వామీజీవారి నాదచికిత్చ కచ్చేరి తాలూకు వార్త పత్రికలలో చదివాను.మరొక పదునైదు సంవత్చరాల తరువాత శ్రీస్వామీజీ దర్శనం తొలి సారిగా చేసుకున్నాను. ఈ ముప్పై ఏళ్లు నాకు తెలియకుండా నాతోనే ఉంటూ నన్ను సన్మార్గంలో నడుపుతూ శ్రీస్వామీజి మార్గ దర్శనం చేసారని తరువాత నాకు అర్ధమైనది. గత జన్మలో ఏమి చేసానో తెలియదుకాని , దాని ఫలితమే ఇప్పుడు సద్గురువు శ్రీస్వామీజి నాకు లభించటం. మా భూత, భవిష్యత్,వర్తమానాలన్ని మీ చేతిలో ఉన్నాయి స్వామిజీ. వాటిని చాకచక్యంగా నడిపేది మీరే. ఆలోచనలను రేకిత్తించేది ,వాటికి సమాధానాలను ఇచ్చేది, మాకు ఏదైనా ఒక మంచి పని చేసే సంకల్పాన్ని కలిగించేది, ఆ పనిని మాతో చేయించేది మీరే……జయగురుదత్త

As Puttuji beautifully points it out, there`s a mutual impressing and influencing of the water and the land.
As the water shapes the rocks, so the rocks shape the flow of the river.
It`s the same with our tendencies, former and future ones.
How can we come out of this vicious circle?
When I have a look at my tendencies, I see some strong ones that cannot have been produced
recently, but probably a long time ago. This view gives me more modesty and caution.
I try to have mercy with me and think of strategies to root them out.
What happened has happened, let`s start fresh and new.
It`s like to treat oneself as a patient. Doctor and patient – at the same time.
It`s also interesting what happens, when one discovers good faculties that were not brought
to light up to now, and immediately one feels better, while using them.
To see the whole life as a process helps me a lot. Nothing is carved in stone,
we always have a new chance.

looks like a dying tree behind Swamiji, Who, Like the flowing river of Life, is that Himself, the giver of Life eternal…. Why, when we are so close, not choose this Life eternal that he offers? The tree is so close but does not draw from the river nearby..
Past tendicies shapes the present interests and attitudes in this life! Past tendencies can lead to a withering tree a lonely tree also.(even with a river of life nearby) or choose to draw from the life giving river and become lush and green and giving tree in perfect peace and harmony with its environment.
We are then guided through the video, into lush green trees benefiting from the life giving water…lush, thriving, living and giving to the environment..
As we all can do if we too strive to thrive, to be alive and green trees flowing with greenery, and life giving energy to give to the environment around us! Swamiji offers each of us the capacity to do this. To become the most beautiful trees, giving trees, where others including animals can sit in the shade and rest, take some fruit, feel comforted and safe and loved, use the bark for medicine, enjoy the singing birds which nest there, enjoy the rustling of the wind through the leaves, enjoy peace, within and without…smiling trees, dancing trees, happy trees..
Now , if the tree behind Swamiji is a tree who has lost its foliage due to transitory nature, then we can perceive the message in another way also, but then again, the same above would apply to the tree in transition as we are also in transition and need to take advantage of the River of Life which Swamiji eternally offers in soooooo many ways!

often we’re quite conscious of the negative karma when we have to suffer the consequences. however there must be sufficient good karma that brought us to sri swamiji or made our beloved sadguru find us. I remember standing on chamundi hill and looking over mysore as far as the eyes could see and feeling how vast even this little part of india is, and marvel at the wonder to be just here, above our spiritual home heaven-on-earth datta peetham, and feeling the awe that You have found just this being amongst billions of human beings on this planet.
but how positive our karma may have been, our good fortune is due to sadguru’s grace alone. I remember when in london 2000 during sri swamijis vedanta lectures I heard GURU KRPA for the first time. without understanding i just felt the magic sound of the word. Having experienced sadguru’s KRPA (grace and compassion) so often, I just pray that we may be ever forever conscious of Your boundless love and grace.
