Anjana was an apsara, born as a female vanara due to a curse. She would be redeemed from the curse when she gave birth to a son. She & her husband Kesari prayed intensely to Lord Shiva, asking for a child. The Lord blessed them with Hanuman.
When it was time for Rama to go to heaven, many went along with him, including Sugreeva. Hanuman prayed to Rama & Sita that he stay back on earth, to be present wherever Rama Nama would be chanted. Sita granted him that blessing. Mankind has benefitted from it since then.
Anasuya was the virtuous wife of Atri Maharishi. The Trimurthi’s decided to test her piety. Dattatreya Avatara was the result of her passing that test. Since then, Datta has been blessing his devotees over several janmas.

Immediately I remembered a story from my childhood in the “Tales of Datta” book published on Appaji’s 53rd birthday. I remember the power of Anasuya Mata when she overcame the tests of the goddesses Saraswati, Lakshmi and Parvati. Being a pativrata or chaste wife, she has great spiritual power, displayed unparalleled virtue and she alone was worthy of being the mother of the Jagadguru Dattatreya. We see the greatness of such virtuous wives in all the stories and scriptures of your incarnations. Blessed is the house where a virtuous and devoted wife resides; by her grace, her husband and by extension, her family thrives and prospers. They are able to lead noble and inspired lives and do good deeds to benefit society.
Jaya Guru Datta! History has many examples of virtuous women that inspired their husbands to carry out noble deeds for universal welfare. Anasuya Devi and Sita Mata stand tall among them. In the recent times, Jayalakshmi Mata has been a stellar example for all Datta family. She brought the extended family together, served the community, was very devoted to Her husband and children and raised the Holy Master to serve the Universe. This message is a reminder for all women to not only be noble, but inspire the husband and the family to be noble as well. When in doubt, we can look to Jayalakshmi Mata in our hearts for solutions. It’s also a reminder to the husbands and the rest of the families to respect the wife/mother for without her, there’s no creation. A woman teaches the world what love, sharing and caring are. Jai Guru Datta. This mms is very appropriate for me to read right now. As a wife in the first years of my marriage i have had to change a lot of habits and make many behavioral adjustments to keep our household harmonious. At first it was difficult and frustrating but it has gotten easier, and making all these self adjustments has made me a better person and given me a better quality of life. My husband has gotten softer around the edges and he has learned to bend as well. When i am on my best behavior and control my temper, he learns to be on his best behavior and controls himself better also. When i put his needs and our daughter’s needs before my own- he becomes inspired to put our needs before his. We continue to teach each other how to be better people every day and as a result our relationship is better than ever- hence there is more joy and less stress in our home which is so good for our child. If a woman is sincere in her FITH to GOD, she will have the pwer and integrity to BE, to be a HUMAN BEING in all the capacity and reality that means to be as a HUMAN a Woman! / After all, Aw oman is given the utmost important job to give birth to other humans on this planet!
