  1. Dear Divine Mother,
Your grace shines (bhasura) through the three cities (Tripura) in the earth, sky and heaven. We pray you brighten (bhasa) our thought (chitta).
Those fish in the deep sea seem to live in a much brighter world, and are much more happier in life that we are.. because they haven’t yet bitten the hook of greed. Even though we live above water, we seem to be living in a much darker world, and are very unhappy.. because we are hooked onto the lure of money & material.
One more house, one more larger house, the bigger the better; a lot more belongings.. it’s easy to hypothecate our happiness to greed. Driven by greed, it’s become difficult to be in control of our lives.
Thanks a million for having blessed us with our Sathguru, who keeps our greed in check. We are glad to be in His care, in this janma. And we pray you keep this divine relationship with our Gurudeva going, in forthcoming janmas too.
    Jaya Guru Datta! Your Puttuji

    JGD Appaji
We are born with nothing and will die with nothing. Only thing to be gained in between is Guru’s grace, for He is the only constant throughout our births.
Bless us with contentment in all our janmas. Contentment that everyday is a gift from Appaji. Every action we perform is a selfless service. Then there is no possibility of greed, for we realize that we came with nothing and will leave with nothing.

In the present society, the line between need and greed has become blurred. But for all Datta devotees there is no need to worry, because we have Sadguru’s grace. Wonderful bhajan from the album “Tripura”.

Jaya Guru Datta! Swamiji, You are illustrating to us that virtues are the real wealth and that vices cause our downfall. MMS # 269 said that lust is the most dangerous vice. Now, we learn that greed is the greatest disease. Perhaps, no other being in this world is as greedy as man is, despite the intelligence and discrimination man is gifted with. Greed is not limited to earning a lot of wealth or fame, it manifests in daily activities such as the way we (over) eat or the way we share (too little). How can we get rid of this disease? Sri Swamiji administers the medicine in the form of MMS capsules and other teachings. MMS # 23 says that wealth and luxury can make one forget God. So, we need to learn to use wealth, but not get consumed by it. The first of Swamiji’s 12 Directives says to enjoy our wealth by sharing with others. Keeping good company, remembering that things we see in this world are unreal and remembering that his world is one big family will perhaps teach me to get rid of this disease. Obeisances at the Holy Lotus Feet!

  3. Jaya Guru Datta. Dearest Mother Sri Swamiji, I pray to become a forgiving person. Greed is a disease like cancer and I should remember this MMS and look at the greedy people as needing compassion and love. I hold on to such anger and hurt. Please help me to let go of this and to have the right thinking. Let me see You in all and understand that there is no difference. I seek refuge at Your divine Lotus Feet. Sri Guru Datta.

What a good lesson Appaji has given through today’s MMS. Yes it is a real fact that in this Kaliyuga , people are more interested in worldly pleasures and unwanted desires. To attain or to enjoy these things they want to earn more and more money and naturally they will side by side develop greediness in their life. By doing so they are not realizing that they will lose their happiness in the life and ultimately will not get peace of mind. Further it also lead to stress and tension in the life from which it develop to health problems. That is why Appaji always says that what ever the God has given to you be happy with that. Also Appaji is alerting us that we should not compare our position with others. He also says that with in our capacity, we should involve in good Sevas and doing charity to the real needy and it is the part of our dharma. Further here I remember Appaji’s words saying that some people are more interested in material benefit and at one stage they will become more greedy in it. At the sametime if anything goes wrong they will get upset and become unhappy and even they may forget the god or Sadguru.. To overcome this greediness , we have to follow the spiritual path through our Sadguru. Bu doing so we will be able to control our mind in such a way and will not become greedy in anything. Therefore the spiritual path through our Sadguru is only the medicine for the disease called greed. The photography and the Bhajan from the CD , Thripura are very apt for this MSG. JGD.

How can we conquer this problem? see yesterday MMS …
To realize the beauty in nature, also in our own.
How can we see it? Perhaps by feeling loved and not suffer privation ?
Especially in Western world most of us have enough wealth and comfort.
But do we also have love?
The problem is “not feeling loved and compensating this” by accumulating things.
When we rely on our heart to heart relationship with Sri Swamiji, I think we are on
the most successful path to solve this problem .

    • Ramarao Chengalvala on March 7, 2013 at 6:25 am

How true these words about greed are?… Its the greed that disturbs human relations, kills the mental health, fills the mind with evil thoughts, never satiates us,keeps us in conceit status. In spite of seeing a number of examples from eons together in our great epics about people who lost everything finally because of greed or avarice, man is not able win against this. Probably this is because, we are in a society where a person is always weighed by his material wealth. The only one solution one can find is “All problems will vanish if people turn selfless”. This ideal can be realised only through strict adherence to ethical and moral values right from childhood days that enables people to introspect about themselves in all activities. Such spiritual knowledge cannot be expected from today’s academic institutions but only by a great spiritual leaders like Sriswamiji. With all Your blessings let we change ourselves always to be in the position of giver, any little thing we can. JGD.

Jaya Guru Datta Appaji – greed is a little deep in the enemies and thus is probably a little stronger than usual (to fight against). However, with all the training/guidance and protection from Appaji it is not invincible. The MMS, per say, are great weapons to fight this battle. One of the many arms is Satsanga, which Appaji has been alluding us all to – satsangatve nissangatvam, which get us rid of the lobha – greed. if one is not attached to anything, there is no way to crave for anything. Sachchidananda Unveiled, Realization of God:.
External enemies of man can either be conquered or befriended. But his internal enemies like desires, anger, greed, pride, attachment and jealousy remain concealed causing untold havoc. They can be vanquished only through intense sadhana, sacrifice and devotion to God.

Appaji we remember that our anger, greed and harsh words hurt us more than they hurt others and the truly rich man is he who is always contented. We understood that Greed is a dreadful disease, Appaji thank you for removing our bad attitudes through Divine MMSes.

Absolutely true, greed for food, money, position… greed for more of anything is dangerous. May lord bless us all to be devoid of greed for worldly things and probably one can intend to pray more without any desires to know and experience Omnipresence God.
