Karnataka Water Falls – Hanuman, Jog and Shivana Samudra

wordpress com stats

In Karnataka state, Sri Swamiji visited three water falls.

First, Sri Swamiji visited Bharachukki and Gaganachukki falls off Kaveri river near Mysore. The sacred river, Kaveri (in which Sri Swamiji took Avatar in Mekedatu) rushes through rocky terrain, gains momentum and the falls are collectively known as Shivana Samudra (Lord Shiva’s Falls). The segmented falls average 98 meters in height.

Jog falls is the second highest water fall in India. Its accessibility has made it world famous. River Sharavati falls in four streams from the top of a plateau to a ravine 253 meters below. Sri Swamiji named the streams as Rama, Seeta, Lakshmana and Hanuman instead of the well known Raja, Rani, Rocket and Roarer.

The third and name wise most meaningful was the visit to Hanuman Falls in Kuduremukha national park. The fact that there was a water fall named after Lord Hanuman was a pleasant surprise. This water falls has two streams of water which gushes down to a pond. Sri Swamiji named the two cascade as Rama, Seeta and the pond as Hanuman Gundi (Hanuman pond). The video showcases the three visits.
