  1. Brilliant condensation of the Guru – Sishya process:
Stage 1: Guru chooses to carry his Disciple. Disciple may not even know it. The kitten is not strong in body & mind to think or care for itself
Stage 2: Guru is still carrying, with a subtle difference. He’s not holding the Disciple.. it’s the other way around. What the disciple is holding on to isn’t the Guru’s hands, feet or belly, but the Guru’s ‘teaching’. Through such gripping, baby monkey builds limbs & perspective, to fend for himself
Stage 3: Strong to fend for themselves, little fish venture into the ocean. So, absorbed in their exploration, they don’t know their mother is watching. Mothers keep it that way. Guru is still carrying, but not in a physical sense. Mothers care. But will never be their children’s walking sticks. They grow their kids to be independent
We can never thank you enough Sathguru, for carrying us through this ocean of samsara. With pranams,
    Jaya Guru Datta. Your Puttuji

You are ten thousand miles away. Yet, Swamiji, you are watching with your vigilant eye my every move, by way of thought, word, and action. My monkey mind goes towards the world and its illusory pleasures, at every little corner and juncture, pleasures that do not even exist and I know from experience are not worth going after. Yet the monkey mind, like the untrained dog, wants to go hither and thither. With your invisible leash, you pull me away in a different direction. With each pull of the leash, I feel a certain wistful pain, a wrench, an unwillingness to let go of attachments, to people, to what used to be favorite things and pastimes. The remembrance of the past is sometimes a torture because it focuses only on the joy of the remembered moments, and not the pain. The tightening of the leash around the neck reminds me to my dismay that all those past experiences of pleasures were equally mingled with pain. It tells me firmly that I should simply move on, without looking back or sideways, straight ahead with zero resistance in the path that you are showing. Jaya Guru Datta

    Om Avadhutaya Namah
Sri Swamiji teaches us everything what is necessary for us. His teachings are transmitted to us in so many ways. ´Through the Internet, by singing bhajans, by doing seva, by listening to His great music and wonderful concerts, through meditation and in dreams. Often He lets us experience on our own. Wherever we are around the globe He is there to have a vigilant eye on us. Our deepest thanks for every single learning step which we can do by His grace.

Jaya Guru Datta! This is an incredibly touching message! Motherly compassion overflows through every stage of the Guru-shishya relationship. No one but God is capable of such compassion and guidance with full undersanding of every thought word and deed of the disciple. That’s why God comes to us in the form of Guru. Thank You, Swamiji for clutching me like I’m a kitten. Thank You for blessing us so immensely with sacred, divine knowledge. If the baby monkey loses its grip, the mother doesn’t walk away. It helps the baby back before it moves on. You not only give us knowledge, but bless us with the ability to hold on to Your teachings. With Your blessings, I will strengthen this ability and lose the fickleness of mind. It’s very humbling and fulfilling to know that we will always be under Your watchful eye. No wonder we can never repay our debt to Sathguru regardless of how many births we take. Obeisances at the Holy Lotus Feet!

A good teaching , Appaji has given today through MMS 327, wherein it shows mainly the relation between the Guru and disciple. Here I even recollect Appaji’s MMS 92, which says the Guru come to disciple when the disciple is ready for spiritual initiation. In such circumstances the guru clutches the disciple like the cat hold it’s kitten. When we are ready for spiritual initiation , then it is our duty to listen to Guru’s words and follow His teachings in all respects and realize the spiritual path. Once we reach to that state we will come to the level of self realization . Then our next step is to develop our spiritual knowledge and share with good people. By doing so we will not develop ego , jealous , pride and selfishness in our life. At the same time we should always get charged ourself with spiritual energy through our Sadguru. Here it is not like the relation ship between the teacher and a student in his carrier. This is because while we are a student , the relationship with the teacher will be over , once we reach our goal. But in spiritual path we are always a student and our Appaji is our Master only till our life. That is why we should always have frequent touch with our Sadguru and also link with our Ashram and always under His vigilant eye. The photography is very apt for this MSG since it shows the relationship between the Guru and disciple. Thank You Appaji to alert us the importance of follow a Sadguru and through Your words and teachings we will develop our spiritual knowledge . JGD.

    Jaya Guru Datta,
holding on and let go again…. very interesting to think this through from the perspective as a disciple and as a mother of two children.
My beloved Appaji thank You for watching my little fishes with me and carring us through this ocean of samsara.

    Children song (Switzerland):

  7. Jaya Guru Datta. We all born in this world. Grow up and learn to be independent under the eye of the Mother is the way for every human beeing in this world. The spiritual process is also like that way. We all start as spiritual baby’s in the Hand of our Spiritual Mother. To understand this process is a lifelong journey with help of our Sadguru. Many thanks for the gift of knowing and understanding.

Like mother weans off its baby gradually and trains baby to be more independent to walk, talk etc. similarly God wants us all to be independent and be blissful free from attachments.
