  1. Gnanakara (creator of knowledge), kalakara (creator of time), nirvikara (unchanged, unmodified) and always in blissfulness.. is Siva. There is nothing that Siva cannot accomplish. Yet, He is untouched by those accomplishments. No wonder, He is seen as the perfect Yogi.
The idea in worshipping Shiva, is to allow those high order traits to seep into our own personality.
Those moolikas (herbal plants) cure so many illnesses. But they are not attached to the fruits of their action. Curing is their yoga. They grow to cure.. and expect nothing in return.
    Pranams Sathgurudeva!
You are the perfect role model for the aspiring Yogi.. in the practice of detachment in the midst of so much accomplishment. To that balanced state of mind, successes and failures do not matter. What counts is the Yoga – The performance of one’s duty – without expecting any returns. We will practice such detached accomplishment, and do you proud!
    Jaya Guru Datta! Your Puttuji

Jgd. Heartfelt prostrations to the lotus feet. Wonderful message. Our Gurudev training us how to be detached while discharging the duties. Outwardly one may be a worldly human being but inwardly one should develop the qualities of a yogi.

Jaya Guru Datta! Dear beloved Appaji, please bless me that I at least perform my duty with true (!) detachment for the first time at all and then gradually manage to engage myself in this way more and more. Thank You for Your patience with Your little boy. Sri Guru Datta!

Beautiful MMS with Darshan of “Moolikeswara”(Lord of the herbs), the nearby gardens filled with herbal plants, and roots grown under the protection of Moolikeswara Swaroopa Sathgurudeva. His Holliness’s Divine Darshan and voice has taken us today from Mysore Ashrama to Omkareswara Jyothirlinga and to other Jyothirlingas as well !!

    Jaya Guru Datta Appaji_/\_!!
    Nityaya nirvikaraya niravadyaya yogine
Niskalaya nirihaya sivaya guravey namaha !! Guru Gita 69.
Holy obeisance to sadgurudeva who is eternal, unwavering, blameless, Yogi, Taintless, desireless and most auspicious. A doubt creeps in our mind that why Siva is taken to denote the Trinity .The reasons are several. Siva means highly auspicious . Siva has No form so No Vikaras. Those who worship Shivaswaroopa Sadgurudeva become unwavering, faultless and accomplished and desire less.

    Sadgurudeva: Jnaana Sagar – MAHATMA
Ādiśaṅkarācārya says in his famous Bhaja Govindam hymns as follows:
“Yoga Ratova Bhoga Ratova Ranga Ratova Sanga Vihinah Yasyat Brahmani ramate Chittam nandati nandati nandati Yeva”.
Whether He is engaged in yoga or enjoyments, whether He is among people or alone, the perfect yogi is ever merged in the Supreme soul. He enjoys the Divine bless always.
Sadgurudeva in Austria. – “Pain”. Aug 14, 1995.
Have you seen that stone idol? How many hammering, hammer blows it tookto become that Ganapati idol? So, like that I sometimes hurt you. Don’t worry. If Swamiji hurts you, you are lucky, because you are on His ‘list’. That’s the Guru leela. He is making an idol, a yogi, a good student out of you.
Pujya Sri Swamiji’s Discourse, Bhakti Mala, Dec-2008:
Man’s duty is to work and practice his dharma and not to look for fruits thereof.Work is worship. A man constantly engaged in intense activities and who works with disinterestedness and non-attachment may be termed a Karma Yogi in the real sense.

Sadgurudeva, Lessons from Bhagavad Gita, Mysore Ashrama:
One wishing to become a yogi should perform actions abandoning the desire for fruit. Thus he should try to purify his mind and make it steady in the thought of God. Then he has established his oneness with God. He does not have anything further to do in the world.

This is yoga sadhana. Swamiji Himself is the yogi doing the sadhana on your behalf. Respect the silence. Maintain the silence. Live in silence. Pray in silence. Listen to the silence. It speaks volumes.
We will remember “The mind of a great Yogi can go through all planes”. MMS 285

Jaya Guru Datta! Sri Swamiji, Himself Lord Shiva, is the yogi to the yogis. It’s beautiful to see Swamiji’s actions, because while they come from a place of pure detachment, they are filled with pure love, two sides of the same coin. Sri Swamiji, in the form of Lord Krishna is teaching us the lessons from BhagavadGita.
On any given day, I could walk in to work with this in mind and instantly forget it the moment I sit at my desk. The same applies to my personal interactions. The idea of detachment seems doable, but in practice, takes a phenomenal amount of practice and effort, regardless of adversities in one’s life. The mind is naturally seeking attachments. That’s perhaps only one would be called a Yogi if he’s able to achieve this state. But, Swamiji says that every big idea starts with a small step and also says that practice makes everything possible and patience is the greatest penance. With Sri Swamiji’s grace, may detachment envelop the Datta family, slowly.

What a wonderful MMS, Appaji has given today. When I read this MSG, I recollect sloka 7 in GuruGeetha wherein it says that Guru is Lord Siva Himself and Siva Himself as Guru. Here as Siva means, He is Brahma, Vishnu and Siva. That is Lord Datta Himself. Therefore the Bhajan on Lord Siva is very apt for this MSG as well as inthe photography the importance of Siva is also mentioned. Hence He is really a Sadguru also Who gives Guru upadeza to Mother Goddess Parvathy . In this Kaliyuga , we see our Sadguru in the form of Lord Siva and also as Lord Datta as per this sloka 7. Hence our Appaji Himself is a real yogi, who is always engaged in performing His duties with out any attachment to any thing or anybody. When we follow our Sadguru we can realize these facts. He is always busy in protecting the humanbeing as well as the other creations in nature like trees, plants, animals and birds. Not only that His compassion and affection towards us as we’ll as to those creations are beyond our expectation. But here again we have to remember that He is doing His duty to mankind for our own benefit and for other creation in nature with out expecting any thing in return and that is His detachment. Such a divine personality we cannot see in this world. Therefore , Appaji we are so fortunate to get You as our Sadguru in this Kaliyuga and we follow your words and teachings strictly in the spiritual path to develop detachment in our life by doing our duty perfectly also. Here I remember even during Sivarathri , Appaji has indicated about this in His speech. JGD.

Yogi is a title bestowed upon a man who could see the past and future, had realized the highest truth from within and had supernatural powers when it came to controlling his body/mind organism. Sriswamiji himself is a Yogi to Yogis, appearing very simple and discharging the obligations like all others, but inwardly always focused on God and welfare of humanity, dedicating the results of all His actions ultimately to God, exemplary in behaviour, ever compassionate, guiding all those who are eager to get over the worldly influences, keeping Himself uneffected by all influences and earthly considerations and bonds. Bless us and guide us Swamiji so that we grow up such that we keep ourselves insulated from all attractions and practise the detachment. Jayagurudatta.

JGD Appaji It is a teaching, an indication & an inspirational message from Appaji. The detachment is spoken about in all the forms of divine messages. Bhagavadgita speaks, Lord Rama says the same thing. narada repeats it, all the sages gave that as a commandment and here it comes as a reinforcement from Appaji. Bhagavatpaada spoke about this in detail and Appaji gave this in multiple demonstration oriented discourses. Please bless us all Appaji to follow this path and reach the ultimate truth.

Working with detachment is very difficult unless we realize the divinity in all work and all creation. Then work becomes a form of worship and whatever the result be, it is a gift from the divine.Only with Guru’s grace and blessing such true detachment is possible.

Old Age may also have a great Advantage : not clinging any more to name , fame,
accomplishments, being – perhaps – no longer overwhelmed by strong duties,
    raising and supporting children etc.
So we c o u l d find to ourselves and try to be happy and undetached.
But – very often – what happens ? we have self remorses and regrets, not fulfilled wishes …
So the circle goes on and on.
But there is – still – this very big Chance, if we realize it.
These beautiful MMS help such a lot !
