Reciting the names of god :

This body is paanchabhoutik in its constitution, the soul resides in it , mind forms a communicating medium between the body and the soul .. This is according to the great Atreya school of thought.. When the mind focuses itself on the names of god , body and soul are automatically linked to the almighty…   Our Sadguru  has taught us about the importance of Divya Nama Sankeertana by composing  about more than 3000 bhajans and  practices it himself and encourages the devotees to join in..

Every evening in the Mysore ashram devotees participate in the Divya Nama Sankeertana .. It is a practice which we must follow at home too…

Jaya Guru Datta Sri Appaji. A lustrous green way of living; followed by your blessings to us reciting the names of god giving us 2-fold benefits for us material lives + showering of blessings from above you accepted for all of us. A deeply melodious music Gowry thaye…… that lingers in us in our deeper layers: all your love for us Sri Appaji. Sri Guru Datta.

Jaaygurudatta. Sri Swamiji always helps devotees pray in any of the 9 different ways of devotion narrated by Narada in his Bhakti sutras. Divya Nama Sankeertana or reciting the names puts does not leave any scope for other thoughts and has the same effect of meditation. Sri Swamiji’s bhajans are wonderful in having the effects of prayer and meditation. Sri Swamiji blessed us with thousands of bhajans and short poems to help us attain God. Thank you Appaji.

Approaches in calling out the GOD might be different, but the end GOAL of knowing the lord remains the same. Thru the Bhajans rendered by you we were all able to recite god names and also feel the trace of divinity. JGD Appaji.

Jai Guru Datta, Appaji. Reciting the name of the God is prayer and meditation, and SWEET (nothing abstract) as well, Appaji. The name of Sri Hari (Appaji), the form of Sri Hari (Appaji), the glory of Sri Hari (Appaji)….aha, this is a beautiful path! Just the thought of You is SUPREME, Appaji. I am sure, the power of Your name alone, will annihilate the internal enemies in me! I am sure I shall come out victorious! Yes, my Guru is Appaji; I can only WIN!

    • dariashakti on July 17, 2012 at 8:14 pm

Appaji, how much better the day goes when I am in constant japa rather than letting my mind run free….how unreal the world seems….like a cardboard backdrop to something greater….help us all to remember to still our minds and chant the names of God…

    • sarath chandra on July 17, 2012 at 9:25 pm

Jaya Guru Datta, Short and Sweet video embedded with a beautiful message and we pray to be more regular and sincere at chanting GOD names through Pujya Appaji’s Bhajans and mantras

    Jaya Guru Datta,
A refreshing video which i feel beautifully depicts that Only through Sadguru’s Blessings and presence of Sadguru in the Heart of a devotee can remove ignorance

    Jaya Guru Datta

Pujya Sri Swamiji by making us chant god names like “Om Namo Hanumate Namah”… “Sri Rama Jaya Rama, Jaya Jaya Rama”, is constantly making us realize our inner self. When all of us chant these mantras, the good vibrations coming out of this will not only cleanse us internally, but will have impact on our family, surroundings and the entire whole world.

    Sri Guru Datta

Jai Guru Datta. Sri Swamiji also teaches us that silence is golden;do not engage in gossip and recite the names of God. Thank you Appaji.

JGD, reciting the Mantras Appaji has thought us, always gives me the energy and the strength to face the world.

  3. Sri Swamiji has taught us many powerful mantras for our protection and health. Even when I am not consciously chanting them, if I stop for a moment to listen to my heart, I hear some mantra being chanted, to my own surprise. The Guru in my heart is chanting all the time, I feel. How wonderful! What a blessing! Beautiful video with Sadguru’s divine voice filling it with power. It is said that His voice itself is Amrita, the nectar of immortality. The visuals and melody are superb. Jaya Guru Datta

It is difficult for me to understand that. Chanting the nam of god is simple, is it really enaugh, because it is a prayer? I think, it can be enaugh, when I do it with all my heart.

Everyday i swim for about twenty minutes and spend a further ten to fifteen minutes in the sauna. I put that time towards chanting swamiji’s mantra. This has become such a routine that it is my hot yoga. I am aspiring to reach the giddy heights reached by Hira where she hears her heart chanting. In Singapore Appaji said, once you chant you become one with him. JGD

JGD! First, I found the saying a bit confusing or to be contradictory in a way. But then, it made me think about what (the definition of) meditation is: constantly being focussed on one object. So, reciting the name of God or japa is also meditation, not only trying to be without thoughts in total quietness! Thank you for this lesson. Sri Guru Datta!

The first mantra I got from you was “Om Sri Ganapathy Sachchidanandaya namaha”. It is almost reflex for me to use it, if I am nervous, in an uncomfortable situation or insecure and of course it helps.
Using it when I am calm and in safe surroundings, its combined feeling of saying “Thank You”, and at the same time being blessed with your presence.
Thank You for hearing me – all the time!

Jaya Guru Hanuman Swamiji, You show us the way and provide means to walk on the way…..You have provided many means for us to do Nama Sankeertana…..You have given us beautiful bhajans, healing and meditation music which are none other than god infused bhajans as instrumental music, encourage mantra chanting and writing…..All these methods help us control the monkey like mind and transform our inner personalities…….Just as Swamiji says that in true worship we should imbibe the qualities of the idol we are praying……Humble prostrations to your lotus feet…..Om namo hanumate namaha

    • Lakshmi Melbourne Australia on July 21, 2012 at 12:09 pm

Power of Nama Sankeertana has been highlighted by our Sadgurudeva always. So nice to hear the message in HIS divine voice with HIS divine music and beautiful nature in the video. It’s all blissful to watch these videos. JGD

Reciting God’s name keeps the form and qualities of God and we’ll concentrate our mind on HIM. Thus chanting HIS name is both prayer and meditation. May lord bless us all with the mind to chant God’s name in both happiness and sorrow.

    • madhu talwar on March 5, 2013 at 8:38 am

jgd Its Your grace that You are explaining precious and important message in such a simple way. Prayer is thanks giving and asking for help, and meditation is to be one with All Mighty.
