    Jaya Guru Datta Appaji,

Datta Stavam has become part and parcel of our lifestyle.
“Smarana Matra Santustami”….. just by thinking of Lord Datta with pure devotion, we can make him feel happy and he is there to protect his devotees always.
What a beautiful prayer given by pujya guru deva to this current generation.

    Sri Guru Datta

  1. A beautiful message from ‘Datta Stava’. We experience these great qualities of our Datta Sadguru Deva Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji in our day-to-day life!

I love the background ‘Achyuta Anantha’ bhajan music very much. it is one of my favorites. Thank you Puttuji for posting such a wonderful video. You made my day!

Relaxing ocean waves, soothing music coupled with our eternal prayer ‘Datta Stava’… What else can I ask for… simply superb video.
‘Achyuta anantha sreedhara madhava devadhideva panduranga’ one of my all-time favorite composition of Pujya Appaji and love the track. I had the opportunity of listening to this live in one of Sri Swamiji’s music for meditation and healing concerts. Longing to hear it again in Appaji’s divine soulful voice.

Beautiful message Appaji. We should not give up hope and keep on trying till we achieve our goal like Ocean trying to reach the shore even after knowing it cannot make it. We should always (Ilalo and Kalalo)
interact with GURU to enjoy the nectar of life.

Once we develop FAITH towards our GURU, purification starts and one has to experience the beautiful process. The music and the presentation are astonishing.

Yes Lord Dattatreya helps immediately when we call him intensly with full faith. Once i was driving on the German “Autobahn”. The only motorway without speedlimit. It was raining heavily. The road almost looked like a river. Suddenly our car started spinning like a caroussel. I lost total control. The car moved like a missile, soooo fast. From the depth of my being i called the name of Datta. For a fraction of a second my whole life was visible on the screen of my mind. The spinning of the car which was moving towards a big truck, changed its direction and slowed down. It was still spinning around. Finally it came to a stop on the right side of the road at a safe spot. There was hardly any scratch and my wife and me were safe. We went to the next parking, recovering from the shock and took a rest. A police car came to us and the policemen asked us if everything was ok. Yes we were OK. Saved by the grace of Lord Datta. There is no doubt about it. Jaya Guru Datta.

Om sri sadgurubhyo namah! Especially for westerners like me, who love Sanskrit but definitely need a translation, it is very important to be reminded then and when of the meaning of the shlokas we chant everyday and which graciously have burnt themselves into our mind. Can there be something more wonderful than the love of the Divine, Datta or Sadguru, who protect us unconditioningly and at all times? Jaya Guru Datta!

  6. A Wonderful Blessing Appaji. Thank you. Jai Guru Datta!!!

Eventhough I am new to Puttugam Videos,I have been chanting Datta Stavam for more than 25 years, without even knowing the meaning fully. It became a habbit especially when driving, my lips will be continuously chanting. Last year we were driving all night from Savannah to D.C. on hot summer night. I did not realize the tire pressure was low. Half way through the journey, both the headlights failed, so I was driving with high beam. I started noticing tire burning smell, and for few minutes I ignored it thinking it was coming from outside. After few miles I realized it was my tires and it was already 1:00 a.m. Kept chanting Datta Stavam and reached the destination safely. The next day morning Sam’s Tire Shop told, you are very lucky, your tires could have caught fire or could have shredded. All I know is Datta Stavam is protecting me and my family all these years, and it became so natural to chant just like breathing. SGD.

Jaya Guru Hanuman, The meaning of this Datta Stavam verse is simply superb….It tells that Datta removes our negative tendencies and turns our minds towards positive things….Sri Swamiji has graced me in experiencing the meaning of this verse……………When I was drifting away doing things that I am not supposed to be doing Sri Swamiji entered my life unexpectedly and without me knowing slowly destroyed my negative tendencies and turned me towards positive things….Sri Swamiji was also compassionate enough to provide satsangam for me and my family…..This is how our Dinabandhu, Kripasindhu sadguru saves us and removes our klesas………Humble prostrations to the lotus feet of Sri Swamiji again and again.

    Om namo hanumate namaha

    JAYA GURU DATTA!
From the book ” Datta Stavam” – composed by Swami Vasudevananda Saraswati. A detailed explanation by His Holiness Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji:
Any mantra, including the Datta Stavam can be utilized to pray for three purposes:

    1. To remove worldly sorrow and to gain worldly happiness

    2. To increase devotion, discipline in virtue, and the practice of yoga

    3. To merge with the deity of the mantra, with no desires

Thank You so much, beloved most revered Sat Guru and almighty Dattatreya for such a wonderful, powerful and helpful prayer!
    S.G.D.
    OM DRAM DATTAYA NAMAHA!

JGDD Appaji…just a few days ago i took the children to a nearby water park…i was home- based in an area at the park with the baby so that she could enjoy the cool ankle deep water, while the older children enjoyed the water slides for their age level …the children were told to continuously check in with me, which they failed to do while having too much fun, so the baby and myself roamed around the park searching for the others without success…the baby was very tired, hungry, and cranky…at that moment i thought of You, my Lord Datta, and remembered that You would come to the rescue if i asked for Your help…immediately the children appeared, and we were able to quickly leave the park and tend to the baby’s needs…thank You Appaji for this special favor…SGDD

Jai Guru Datta, Appaji. You are not only removing our difficulties, but also destroying the sins of our past Karma (sachita paapa vinaasaka Datta). Such infinitely compassaionate Master, You are! We try hard to remember You, but in fact it is You always remembering us! The time has come to alter ourselves in earnest! With Sadguru’s grace, with Hanuman’s strength, and with Amma’s compassion, may we win over our (internal) enemies, may we turn away from the delusions presented by the world, and start following you with steadfast devotion and persistence, for there is nothing else that makes better sense! Om Namo Hanumate Namaha. Sri Guru Datta.
