Pujya Pujya Sri Swamiji’s visit to Malaysia in March 2010 was greatly anticipated by the devotees and members of Gnana Bodha Sabha of Malaysia. Since the first visit in 1979, the Datta movement in Malaysia has developed gradually and is now an organisation of commitment and devotion. The musical journey of Pujya Sri Swamiji which stared in Chennai’s memorable “Nada Yoga Raga Sagara”continued in Malaysia with “Swaravali Raga Sagara” held in the prestigious Plenary Hall in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). Pujya Sri Swamiji after the Chennai concert had visited Singapore for two days (March 1-3) and upon arrival from Singapore on 4th March, Pujya Sri Swamiji was received at the airport and taken to the GBS premises in Kasipillay, a quiet area in the centre of the Kuala Lumpur. In the evening, Guru Puja was held. Pujya Sri Swamiji spoke on the significance of “Om Kara” and how it is the language of the ancients since Kruta Yuga.
On 5th morning, Sri Chakra Puja was performed in Ashrama. In the evening, Pujya Sri Swamiji traveled to Nilai, the city where relocation of GBS Ashrama is planned. There is a Mariamman Devi temple adjacent to Ashrama. Satsang was held there. Pujya Sri Swamiji spoke on Jana Samrakshama Mantra and its all encompassing meaning. Several schools in Nilai have the Mantra chanting program.
On 6th, Ganapathy Homa was performed in Ashrama. In the evening, Pujya Sri Swamiji sang scintillating Bhajans.
On 7th morning, Pujya Sri Swamiji performed Arati to the Marakata Karyasiddhi Hanuman and explained to the audience, his concept of Music. Sri. Jeyachandran, Secretary of Gnana Bodha Sabha of Malaysia celebrated his Shashthi Poorthi function in Pujya Sri Swamiji’s presence.
In the evening of 7th, the much anticipated “Music for Healing” was held in the Plenary Hall of KLCC. More than 2000 persons attended the program which started at 8 PM as planned. Pujya Sri Swamiji did not speak a word in the beginning and directly dwelled in to music. The Raga Alapana of Rushyaketu Priya (Bhajan – Pranava Swarupam) was unusual but very enjoyable. As the concert progressed, Pujya Sri Swamiji played
Pranava Swarupam – Raga-Rushyaketu Priya
Kesari Nandana – Raga-Hamsanada
Swaraavali Raga Sagara, a composition in three Ragas (Raga Naga Swaravali from Bhajan Paatvalampura Vaasini, Raga Dharmavati from Bhajan Namo Namo Ganapataye and Raga Shuddha Seemantini, a general melody)
Tender touch- Raga Bhanu Kanti
Rain drops -Raga Madhu Varshini
Raga Ragini Mangala – Raga Sama
The music that flowed was one of the best this reporter has heard. Pujya Sri Swamiji, though on the centre stage, cynosure of 2000 pairs of eyes and ears, was calmly making music unto Himself. The two hours just passed musically soothingly. Sri Swamiji spoke briefly in the end and said “This is one of the best arrangement for a concert I have seen. I am very happy”.
On 8th Morning, Swami Manasa Datta took Yoga class and performed Hanuman Puja. Sri Swamiji and devotees had a informal discussion on the growth of GBS Malaysia.
